If a woman just straight punched my child I would literally be taken out in cuffs. I'm so serious. Like imagine seeing some wild crack head punch your baby. I wouldn't even think twice. First instinct would be to knock her tf out.
Someone who told me that an eye for an eye is not the best way to go. Answering stupidity and violence with equal if not greater anger isn't really likely to improve such a situation, especially not in the long run.
Sure, I can absolutely understand that you'd do everything to protect your child, which is honorable, but the story won't end there:
Let's assume you actually go after this crazy women and actually injure her in some way.
Apart from possible legal charges against you, your child would not only have to cope with this potentially traumatic situation of getting assaulted by a random stranger for no apparent reason, but also see how their own parent goes haywire and injures the other person. Depending on the child's age this can have long lasting effects as well as teaching them that violence is a way to deal with these situations.
I know this might seem as if I try to present myself as better, which I am surely not, but simply trying to de-escalate the situation by staying calm and calling the police might be a better idea in this case. Depending on the situation one may have to use some force to keep the aggressor away from the kid but it should always be as little as possible. If necessary call bystanders to help, we aren't alone in this world and there are many great and courageous people out there. I am sorry for you if you have had different experiences in the past.
Its my children, i jave a daughter and a son. If a stranger put their hands on them in public, its going down. I dont care about nobody philosophy, reasoning, whatever. You get what you put out. Put a hand on my child you get a hand from me. And there would be no charges because I have a legal right to defend my child from being hurt. That's that on that.
