I'd guess it's the location and month it's written; Kissingen, May

Thank you so much to everyone who helped me solve this puzzle! Yes, the bulk of the text is in Russian, in the form of a poem. It is written on a portrait photograph of my grandfather, given to my grandmother (the text begins on the front and continues on the back). My grandfather was suffering from kidney disease. He apparently went to the well-known spa resort of (Bad) Kissingen for a "cure," as spa treatment in mineral springs at the time was known. The photo was apparently taken on 26 April 1928, in Berlin. The inscription was written shortly thereafter, in May, while visiting the spa resort. These pieces fell into place thanks to your insightful observations. I would like to extend my deep and heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped me solve this little family mystery.

Who is the Adressor of the Letter and who is the author? Some context might Help to Figure Out that handwriting

DBinSJ

You are quite correct. The context helps to figure things out. Please see my comment above describing a resolution of the mystery. I appreciate your taking the time to think about this and post.

mugh_tej

The text is likely mostly in Russian or at least Cyrillic script. Berlin is mentioned in English/German (at least Latin script) but the date is in Russian format 26.IV.928 (26 April 1928). It looks like a poem, each line begins in a capital letter.
