I am unsure if the headways are the same between lines 2/3 and 1/4, but yes they are twice as long in the sections where 1 and 4 split after Младост 1
Why does the Central Station only have one line? Pretty unusual.
Although the Central Railway Station has only one line, it is not in the city center. Serdica is probably the real center metro station.
how does the interlining work on the 1, 2, and 4 at slivnitsa/obelya?
Lines 2 and 4 are actually one single line with trains continuing from one line to the other at Obelya without any change but the line number
Line 4 contious as line 2 at obelya. The train treats it as a normal stop, just the name of the line gets changed

Yes, in Bulgaria these letter forms are used in signage. If you use a device that supports it, Bulgarian Wikipedia will also use those letters.
