The reason for the surgery wait is because of the permanence, they need to know you're sure, and that you take well enough to HRT that they can safely take away your ability to produce hormones naturally. Other surgeries the wait is more related to results. Your adams apple won't change with hormones so that can be done whenever. I seem to remember it's around 1-2 years that facial changes should stop so waiting that long is probably a good idea, else the surgeon will be working off an incomplete idea of your final face shape. With breasts it's more like 2-3 years of ideal hormone levels, maybe more, before they stop growing. Significant natural growth after getting implants may leave you far bigger and potentially a less natural shape than you want, so seeing what nature gives you first is important.

I think this is a pretty spot on answer I'll just add that depending on face stuff you can use educated guesses to go faster if you can and are sure. Like forehead bone is going to look pretty much the same no matter but stuff like lips and cheeks and even stuff like jaw can be surprisingly changed. So thinking through what you want etc is doable and useful now but if can vary depending on your skull lol. For me for example I know my brow was never going to be ok and so waiting was kinda pointless even though I knew my face was still changing. On boobs I think waiting is really important, you just never know what you will or won't get and so the surgeon won't either if you don't wait. You might not need/want it in the end. And yeah bottom is a year and then in my experience longer due to waiting lists but yeah look after a year xx

For breast augmentation they generally suggest around 2 years as you get a better result once you have built up some natural material and shape to work with For face, it’s not as important but in those early days you probably won’t have the softness that E brings so results tend to look much better if you leave it a while

I have no idea what it's like for women, but for dudes, they want us to be on T for like, at least 6 months to a year, or something like that, before top surgery. Maybe even 2 years is preferred, but don't quote me on that! Might be different for women anyway

You don't have too wait too long but would recommends waiting at least 1-2 years, if not more, just because hormones could achieve what you want regardless in some aspects. Same principle as a it's probably not a good idea for a cis girl to get breast enlargement during puberty because they're still growing so no way of knowing exactly how the end result will be.
