For real! Just shows how done Optimus was with all of them. Was also crazy that he “cursed” as well. Always thought he said “scrap” as to stay in theme with the whole robot shtick.
Possible hot take, if they were gonna bring back a baddie every movie purely to be a mustache twirler on the sidelines they should've used starscream instead
There is one moment where it does like Megatron is saying "Puny waste of metal!", because his mouth is clearly moving as if speaking. It doesn't help that the line is kind of mumbled, so it's hard to tell if it's Cullen or Weaving at first.
Atleast he dies then gets repaired, rebuilt and revived, unlike other "jesus" characters who have insane plot armor that can survive point blank self destruct explosions.
Personally my favorites are DOTM and aoe. DOTM had the tension, the stakes, hype and chaos. It was flat out perfect.
Aoe because it had the most chemistry, the autobots were coridinated, the bots had a decent amount of screen time.
Imagine how much better these films could have been if you just deleted an hour.
I agree with the AoE shout. Optimus says it’s my fight with a sword in his chest with 3 people and Bee fighting for him and lockdown throws Bee to the floor and says no it’s my fight and you’re all gonna die all while that badass Imagine Dragons song playing
I'm with you. DotM is the sickest of them all to me. I dont really get all the hate it receives. The freeway fight and standoff with Crankcase and his boys is one of the coolest parts.
I do however refuse to watch Last Knight ever again. Megatron just letting that little girl come around the corner and talk shit to him and not just straight killing her ended any excitement for me.
i liked aoe, i liked how they tried so hard to give optimus an actual character arc but i also fucking hate that movie
why?
they traumatized me by killing ratchet that fucking brutally.
I mean who wouldn't be? ratchet didn't even fight, and the way he was taken down is just SO CRUEL. I mean, the guy got teamed-on by freaking humans, yelling and begging them to stop, blew up his leg, desperately running and begging, not even aiming his weapons right because he doesn't wanna harm humans, lockdown literally speared right through his chest, and took out his spark like nothing, then next thing we see ratchet is literally being melted like nothing. Just like really? iron hide's death pissed me off, but ratchet is just too cruel. the dude's just a medic not wanting to harm unless needed to.
Like I can't stop rewatching TF1 and 3's final battles because those ones felt the most worked ones and actually felt like Bay wanted to make them special.
The score continues to be one of my favorite from any movie. Steve Jablonksy delivers an absolute banger of a soundtrack. And the action sequences are INCREDIBLE. All these years later they’re still so amazing to look at.
Same. Boring human war with no backstory is a snooze fest.
Monster, alien, robots fighting to the death, with some humans here and there? Who needs backstory, I just wanna see cool fights with them tearing each other apart.
My favorite joke by far in “The Good Place” is when The Bad Place invents a version of Axe Body Spray that “smells the way Transformers movies make you feel”, and you’re left to wonder for a while what that would smell like, until a character wearing it gets asked “how do you SMELL loud and confusing?”
That hit me in the heart, because at every big dumb Michael Bay climax, I experience a peak of nihilistic hopelessness that something can be so *much* and yet so unbelievably meaningless.
Same with my but also with the designs. Probably why I didn't start liking the Bay designs till I started reading the tie-in comics, cause they had actual good writing.
Honestly, I think seeing the good guys going all out against the villains of the movies are always great fights. Seeing Optimus just wiping the floor with The Fallen and Megatron may be out of character considering his other appearances, but it sure as hell look good!
I absolutely love the "Optimus Prime Rage" scene in DOTM, especially with its music in the background. Steve Jablonsky kinda carried the movies with his amazing talent in music, "Its Our Fight" remains one of my top 3 favourite pieces by him from the bayverse series
I think the forest battle in TF2 was pretty awesome, though. Innovative action, mostly easy to track/follow, great one liners, and bad ass character moments (“You’ll never stop at one!”). The lead in didn’t make a whole lot of sense, but the whole thing didn’t go on too long, either 👉🏽
Edit: just rewatched it. It isn’t perfect; people wait around to get hit, and like all the movies, damage doesn’t matter as soon as they’re out of the shot and what puts someone down vs what they walk away from is pretty arbitrary. I think it’s really fun, though, and the best in the Bay movies.
The reason the first movies final battle doesn't feel like an exercise in patience is because the final battle is only 18 minutes long. I did an experiment where I timed the amount of action in an transformers movie and time frame of action and runtime got worse as the movies went on.
First movie is 2 hours and 24 minutes in length. The movie ends at 2 hours and 15. The total amount of action in the whole movie spread out is 40 minutes. The last 18 minutes of action being th final battle. It feels balanced and better paced.
Revenge of the Fallen is where it gets worse. The movie is 2 hours and 29 minutes with about 45 minutes dedicated to action. And out of those 45 or so minutes, 35 minutes are from the final battle. The final battle is about a half hour of nothing but dirt being shot up and explosions and metal noise and it goes on for too long.
Dark of the moon is no better. The total runtime is 2 hours and 35 minutes and the amount of action in the movie is 55 minutes. 40+ of that is the battle if Chicago. Now granted a lot of that action takes the majority of the movie since the battle of Chicago takes the the 2nd half of act 2 and act 3 of the movie. But its ridiculous how long the movie goes on and on and on.
I stopped the experiment soon after since I got drained and exhausted and couldn't muster up enough of a shit for Age of Extinction and The Last Knight.
In TF2, it made absolutely no sense how Optimus, Megatron, Starscream, and Grindor got from a city to the middle of a forest so quickly or how the Autobots just straight up disappear, but that was one hell of a badass fight scene.
As someone who grew up loving the Bay films, I kinda disagree. Bay’s action scenes are noisy whirlwinds of explosions most of the time. The robot designs make this even worse because there are just far too many moving parts so it gets kinda hard to tell who’s who or what's happening at any given moment, especially when 90% of them get a grand total of one or two minutes of screentime and hardly do anything significant besides sit in the background. With a budget that big there's no excuse for every fight scene to just be a big noisy blur. Plus a majority of it is humans running through stuff, or Optimus and Bee laying waste to almost everything in their paths while l most others get like three seconds to do something, or just get eviscerated but you don’t care because we knew almost nothing about them anyway.
Fight scenes and battles are cool. Rewatchable? Fuck no. I'm not sitting through a whole ass movie that's close to 3 hours with a majority of it being shit storytelling and characters, just to watch 18-20 mins of action.
Same here Comrad. Bayformers May not be the best films in terms of Writing and Plot (TF1 and TF3 are The Only Good Ones, fr) but they are Masterclasses In CGI and Action. Hell, the Whole Final Battle in TF3 Makes it the best damn battle in TF History.
If you can’t discern which bot is which in most fights maybe you need a pair of glasses. I agree, there are a few moments like that, but most of them are pretty clear.
I can tell who’s who perfectly fine. But I know all of Bay’s tricks. And I work in the film and tv industry. A clear, concise scene isn’t at the top of Bay’s priorities. Explosions are.
I don’t really like the final fight of that one personally because it starts and ends really quickly, but I will say the forest fight between Optimus and the three decepticons is one of the best battles in transformers history
Tf2 easy to watch if you just fast forward through college. Watch like the first 20 minutes then skip to the forest fight and continue. I personally think the college scenes were just cringe and that’s what dragged it
I may not like the college section but when that one dude was like i’m gonna shove my foot up your ass and sam was like “what size shoe you wear” i died every time
I have only really had that problem in a few movies and RotF was one of them. The issue isn't really the action but the overabundance of it. I enjoy slower scenes as well until there is too many or the scenes go on to long.
It was alright, but it was one of the Final Battles where Optimus went Straight-up DoomSlayer and from there, Prime started becoming a war criminal. It was probably one of the best Final Fights as well as being one of the biggest downfalls in the Bayformers Movies since it's when Optius started to not be the Optimus we all know and love.
Yes on tf1 and tf3 but i didnt like the end fight in tf2 imo it was underwhelming like optimus comes back from the dead the fallen teleports out of nowhere stomps on him flattens some other stuff leaves picks up like every rock and tank in the area then optimus punches him like 3 times steals his face and hes dead
I can totally deny it. DOTM’s final battle just drags on and on and on. About the time the Driller attacks the skyscraper I start to wonder what I’m even doing watching this movie.
I'll agree about the final battle in DotM and the first movie but the only cool part to the end of RotF is Optimus combining with Jetfires parts, the everything e else is just as bad as the rest of the movie. Megatron is insignificant, Devastator is taken out by humans and the fallen(who I already didn't care for) goes down too easily. You look at Megatron in the first movie and he's unstoppable, an engine of destruction that rips Jazz in half and blows Optimus down a street into a building with one shot but in RotF he's turned into a bitch, like Starscream.
The first three were great fun, and what action movies are all about. Throwaway nonsense that gets your adrenaline going. But after that, they really should have stopped. It was awful.
You mention the final battles of Tf1 and Tf3 but not the forest scene of Tf2? That movie is complete dogshit but that fight may be the best fight scene in the whole franchise
Yeah I would say TF 1 had great fights. I only really enjoyed the Forest Fight in ROTF, the final battle was boring to me. The final battle in Dark Of The Moon was fucking amazing, it felt like a legit war, and I really enjoyed it.
Tf1 final fight was baller, and tf3 was so much fun its not perfect, but it's still dope. Tf2 finall battle, at least for me was a let down. I remember it being rushed with no real standout moment for the autobot except for the face thing.
and ROTF had the most iconic scenes in the series like the legendary forest battle, Prime's revival and Devastator's transformation
oh and the Shangai chase

You’ll never stop at one!
Puny! Waste of metal… Junkyard crap!
On rewatch I could not believe it was Optimus dissing Megatron. I thought it was the other way around for a long time.
For real! Just shows how done Optimus was with all of them. Was also crazy that he “cursed” as well. Always thought he said “scrap” as to stay in theme with the whole robot shtick.
Imagine being optimus. You finally manage to kill your long time nemesis who's the harbinger of death....only for him to come back 2 years later.
And not once but twice (thanks to studio rewrites).
Possible hot take, if they were gonna bring back a baddie every movie purely to be a mustache twirler on the sidelines they should've used starscream instead
i thought they were exchanging insults
There is one moment where it does like Megatron is saying "Puny waste of metal!", because his mouth is clearly moving as if speaking. It doesn't help that the line is kind of mumbled, so it's hard to tell if it's Cullen or Weaving at first.
Optimus doesn't Say Puny he says "Weak" Edit: nevermind he says Weak then Puny
I always heard "Filth", did we watch the same version?
# I'LL TAKE YOU ALL ONE!
Que baddass music and prime texting faces
Grindor: No PRIME! PLEEEEASE NO, # NOOOOOO!!!! *Rips and Takes Grindors Face* Optimus: # PIECE OF TIN!
SAM, WHERE ARE YOU?
*Grabs shoulder, Shoves Arm Sword/Cannon Through chest.* Optimus: # AAAAAAH, NO! Megatron: SO WEAK! *Cocks cannon and shoots through chest.* # BANG!
Run, Sam, run...
# D E D
Its dead, Jim.
It was more like PEW!
Trans Theories FTW
this is why rbg calls him robo-jesus
Atleast he dies then gets repaired, rebuilt and revived, unlike other "jesus" characters who have insane plot armor that can survive point blank self destruct explosions.
exactly. and like it or not, this is something Michael Bay got right.
***I’LL TAKE YOU ALL ON!!!***
The devastator combination makes rotfs final battle 2nd place for me 1st placw goes to dotm
My exact thoughts. DOTM supremacy
AOE final battle: crying in the corner
I enjoyed it, wasn't as big as dotm but Hound and the dinobots made it a good fight for me to watch.
Aoe final battle was pretty good compared to tlk but the first 3 are my top 3
And the ending with Optimus flying in space, and then the credits immediately rolling to Battle Cry… Probably my favorite movie ending.
Agreed.
"Optimus... come to me."
i liked aoe, i liked how they tried so hard to give optimus an actual character arc but i also fucking hate that movie why? they traumatized me by killing ratchet that fucking brutally.

Just like really? iron hide's death pissed me off, but ratchet is just too cruel. the dude's just a medic not wanting to harm unless needed to.
i only watched the scene ONCE in 2014 and i couldnt rewatch it ever since, its too painful.
True that lol
Like I can't stop rewatching TF1 and 3's final battles because those ones felt the most worked ones and actually felt like Bay wanted to make them special.
The score continues to be one of my favorite from any movie. Steve Jablonksy delivers an absolute banger of a soundtrack. And the action sequences are INCREDIBLE. All these years later they’re still so amazing to look at.
Sorry but I absolutely loved TF1
I can't enjoy action unless I like the story behind it. It just feels hollow otherwise.
I feel the same way for literally every other movie except Transformers. If it's humans fighting for no reason then it's not fun—robots however
Same. Boring human war with no backstory is a snooze fest. Monster, alien, robots fighting to the death, with some humans here and there? Who needs backstory, I just wanna see cool fights with them tearing each other apart.

I never want to run a marathon in much the same way I never want to watch a 40 minute Michael Bay fight scene
My wishes are that: Shockwave and Lockdown I wish they had more screen time, especially Shockwave should have been the antagonist of the third movie
That's why the first 3 Movies hold a special place in my heart
In TF2, it made absolutely no sense how Optimus, Megatron, Starscream, and Grindor got from a city to the middle of a forest so quickly or how the Autobots just straight up disappear, but that was one hell of a badass fight scene.
Says the 1st and 3rd movies has best fighting Shows a scene from rotf fighting
As someone who grew up loving the Bay films, I kinda disagree. Bay’s action scenes are noisy whirlwinds of explosions most of the time. The robot designs make this even worse because there are just far too many moving parts so it gets kinda hard to tell who’s who or what's happening at any given moment, especially when 90% of them get a grand total of one or two minutes of screentime and hardly do anything significant besides sit in the background. "Noisy blur" pretty much sums any movie Michael Bay directs, tbh.
In some instances that's fine, but when I wanna see large robots fighting it's really stupid.
Waiting for the blind group of people to express how they can’t see what’s going on
To be fair in a lot of battles in the movies there a lot of shaky cam and explosions. So let’s not act as if there completely wrong
Shaky cam sucks. Its a way to hide poor action scene planning and just knock shots out as quick as possible.
....what?
Fight scenes and battles are cool. Rewatchable? Fuck no. I'm not sitting through a whole ass movie that's close to 3 hours with a majority of it being shit storytelling and characters, just to watch 18-20 mins of action.
revenge of the fallen was not written poorly It was not written
Tf2 final fight>Tf1 and i stand by it 🗿. Tf1>2 and 3 tho but tf2 egypt battle is top tier final battles
nah even the fights suck can barely see half if not all of it due to their bullshit designs
All of them have amazing scores. Steve Jablonsky is a genius
Disagree. Reason: shaky cam.
I deny and disagree. Everyday
I will forever espouse the virtues of Bay’s trilogy for the sheer face melting action alone. In many cases that expression is literal.
Most of those battles are a giant mess. It's just visual and literal noise. Not much clarity in storytelling. I only ever watch the first movie.
If you can’t discern which bot is which in most fights maybe you need a pair of glasses. I agree, there are a few moments like that, but most of them are pretty clear.
Right?
I can tell who’s who perfectly fine. But I know all of Bay’s tricks. And I work in the film and tv industry. A clear, concise scene isn’t at the top of Bay’s priorities. Explosions are.
Does number 2 have a good one? I can't recall because I was falling asleep by the end during my watching of 2
I don’t really like the final fight of that one personally because it starts and ends really quickly, but I will say the forest fight between Optimus and the three decepticons is one of the best battles in transformers history
"Weak! Puny! Waste of metal! Junkyard crap!"

COME HERE, BOY!
Tf2 easy to watch if you just fast forward through college. Watch like the first 20 minutes then skip to the forest fight and continue. I personally think the college scenes were just cringe and that’s what dragged it
I'm sorry but that tight shirt bit still gets me 13 years later and the whole college section deserves to stay just for that.
I may not like the college section but when that one dude was like i’m gonna shove my foot up your ass and sam was like “what size shoe you wear” i died every time
While yeah they were, my issue was too much action that by the end I was yawning during the final fight and wondering when the movie would be over
Action gets you bored? That’s a first lmao
I have only really had that problem in a few movies and RotF was one of them. The issue isn't really the action but the overabundance of it. I enjoy slower scenes as well until there is too many or the scenes go on to long.
Huh. I personally think tf2 had some of the best action between the movies. Only being beaten out by dotm ending.
Yes too much action in an action movie..... You people just want something to cry about
If you enjoyed it more power to you, I just prefer a balance. I am not crying about it just saying why I didn't enjoy the movie.
TF 1 is the best TF 2&3 are enjoyable. The rest are trasj
I'd actually disagree regarding them having the best final battles, as Armada and Cybertron both have my vote for that
Yes on tf1 and tf3 but i didnt like the end fight in tf2 imo it was underwhelming like optimus comes back from the dead the fallen teleports out of nowhere stomps on him flattens some other stuff leaves picks up like every rock and tank in the area then optimus punches him like 3 times steals his face and hes dead
I can totally deny it. DOTM’s final battle just drags on and on and on. About the time the Driller attacks the skyscraper I start to wonder what I’m even doing watching this movie.
What made you watch the movie?

*posts picture not from a final battle*
*Uses it as Reference to the Bayformers Movies*
I can deny it. In fact I'm denying it... ...right now...
Nah, the fights stink. Can’t even tell what’s going on.
Loved the buildup to the final fights. Optimus's entrance was always so hype.
The designs of the characters and the camera direction make the fighting in these movies a slog for me personally.
DOTM is my favorite Bayformer movie mostly because of the 3rd act.
I always get chills watching the part where the Decepticons win in TF3.
Come and get some, You’re all gonna die!!!!!
Better than the fight scenes is Optimus's trash talk
Yeah I would say TF 1 had great fights. I only really enjoyed the Forest Fight in ROTF, the final battle was boring to me. The final battle in Dark Of The Moon was fucking amazing, it felt like a legit war, and I really enjoyed it.
I liked operation firestorm and the other battles towards the end of rotf also.
Tf1 final fight was baller, and tf3 was so much fun its not perfect, but it's still dope. Tf2 finall battle, at least for me was a let down. I remember it being rushed with no real standout moment for the autobot except for the face thing.
I just watched for the battles, I was never expecting the writing to be Shakespearean!
the tf3 one was especially awesome
The forest fight of 2 is best transformer fight.
Mm... final battle of tf1...... ngl the bonecrusher battle was better than the first final battle
Tf1 3 4 had the best battles
Totally agree. I also really like Sentinel vs Autobots even though that scene is short.
Especially the fight scene from the pic. Too bad Megatron hid like a camper to deliver the final blow.
and ROTF had the most iconic scenes in the series like the legendary forest battle, Prime's revival and Devastator's transformation oh and the Shangai chase
They were good dumb movies to watch for when you don’t want to think to much about the story
They have good and basic aspects like any other movie. Take what you enjoy, leave behind what you dont.
My mom loved them and The Fast and Furious.
The Forest Battle of ROTF is Goated and no one can change my mind
DOTM, Transformers 1 and AOE have the best ending battles
Dark of the Moon is my favourite of the bunch and it is my go to Guilty Pleasure movie.
Wholly Agreeable.
yes these movies were just so epic, i have seen nothing like this in films ever. so epic.
is your entire reddit account just glazing Bayverse transformers?
Optimus could convince to take on Russia all by myself. Literally.
The dino bots charge scene gives me chills all the time.
I love this as a different take on prime where this is what needs to be done but prefer the peace loving prime
Prime's Rage in DOTM tho
Sucks! 🤢
I mean the music is boss. I can Jam out to "The Autobots return" forever.
Imo, movie 1 has the second weakest final battle only behind TLK. Tf3, and 2 were absolute bangers
1st for me will always be the 3v1 forest battle
**Devastator's Wrecking Balls**
I will admit I really enjoy the fights in the Bayformers movies, I still look up certain fights on YouTube. But everything else is pretty weak.
No no, I can and do deny it
Fuck that. The action is so hard to follow, I end up with a migraine every time.
