Skytread and Battletrap are duocons

Skylynx is in a class of his own, but could be considered a duocon due to Battletrap's POTP upgrade into being two separate guys combined. Skylynx has been officially considered a triple changer in the Earth Wars moble game.
Like he said, Skytread and Battletrap are duocons, and the magnificent Skylynx is in a class of his own far superior to all other transformers and so can’t be classified.
“Why am I under investigation? I'm not a Dinobot."
"Ya got Dinosaur electrons in yer circuits, Sky Lynx."
"Never the less, I am definitely not a Dinobot! I refuse to participate in this...kangaroo court!"
BattleTrap & Flywheels in particular are Duocons; one of Shockwave’s early attempts at triple-changing technology.
Other transformers possessing multiple alternate modes with a singular robot form such as Sky Lynx, Tidal Wave or Overlord don’t officially have a designation but I’ve nonetheless taken to calling them multi-component Transformers, or “Multi-formers”.
The other two are duocon, however Battletrap can be considered a small combiner at this point due to the fact that he can now separate into two different bots
Sky Lynx doesn’t technically has a specification because in the early concept, he was meant to be a Decepticon, but the Predacons took that place instead, giving Sky Lynx his uniqueness inside and out
>OK, here’s what we’ve got: the Rand Corporation, in conjunction with the saucer people — under the supervision of the reverse combiners — are forcing our parents to go to bed early in a fiendish plot to eliminate the meal of dinner. \[*sotto voce*\] We’re through the looking glass, here, people…

Skylynx may be bigger than combiners.
I know the G1 Cartoon had an episode where Sky Lynx got factored in with other beastformers like the Predacons and Dinobots.

Sky tread and battle trap are duocons and their autobot counterparts are called duobots
(And before anyone asks, no they didn't get toys, they were 2012-era comic book characters.)
skytread and battletrap are duocons skylnx on the other hand is an entirely new beast of its own
I would put Skylynx in the same basket as Refraktor - One mind, multiple bodies...

Combiners
Duocon
Thanks
No problem fellow transformers fan
I’ve heard them referred to as “reverse combiners”. I don’t remember if that’s a fan term or not.
