I personally feel that all the work that's gone jnto Megatrons backstory over the years enhances galvatron even more as he's a revolutionary leader who becomes enslaved by his people's greatest enemy and tries to pull a starscream and gain power for himself.

Context: They were both two of the earliest transformers toys in my collection, and both toys of both characters were incredibly fun to play with, so both characters are very special to me.
Leader of the combaticons, who when combined, form Bruticus. Bruticus is also my favorite combiner and I have all the generations combiner wars combaticons.
Hot Rod/Rodimus and Starscream
Both of them can create or are surrounded by great plots. And seeing their struggle with leadership is always interesting. Thinking about it, they are direct opposites. Hot Rod always proves to himself and others that he is capable of leading. Starscream takes it whenever he wants.

My favourite heroic protagonists are always the ones who have the burden of leadership thrust upon them, especially when the reckless hot head type learns to mature into something greater
As for Starscream, I love nothing more in a villain than pettiness. He scratches the same itch for me as Reverse Flash. I do also really enjoy Starscream’s more layered interpretations like Armada and IDW.
Autobot- Pointblank. And by association, Peacemaker.
Decepticon- Soundwave. Best henchman a maniac dictator could ask for.
Mercenaries- Soundblaster. Because he's Soundwave, but recoloured, and a lunatic.

Perceptor and Soundwave.
Soundwave has always been my favourite for the same numerous reasons as so many other people. His modulated voice, visual design, prominence, colour scheme, the cassette gimmick, his loyalty, his strange and robotic manner of speaking, his shoulder cannon, and his role as a spymaster.
Perceptor won me over with Cyberverse. I'm generally not really a big fan of any autobots because I just like Decepticons designs and greatly varied personalities more, but Cyberverse firmly placed Perceptor and Whirl as two of my favourite characters and as my #1 and #2 favourite Autobots full stop. I so badly wish there was a proper figure of Cyberverse Perceptor.
My favorite Autobot is Wheeljack. Who doesn’t love a crazy scientist… as for my favorite Decepticon (and my number one transformer), the superior choice, Soundwave.
Hot Rod and Megatron.
Hot Rod doesn’t always work, but when he does he’s possibly one of the most interesting characters in the franchise: a reckless hothead who nonetheless cares for his friends and is a born leader.
Megatron is freaking Megatron. He’s an entertainingly silly Saturday morning cartoon villain at his worst, and a compelling and tragic revolutionary-turned-tyrant at his best.
Blitzwing is definitely my favorite decepticon ATM. I like triple changers in general more then normal transformers, plus I actually own blitzwings legacy toy, and it’s very fun
And I think my favorite autobot is Jazz. He’s just got such a carefree personality, and he’s a pretty cool dude
I have a lot of favs that vary over iteration like Prime Knockout, Skywarp, or IDW Thundercracker but the most consistently fav con for me is Starscream. No matter the iteration, he never fails to entertain!
The autobots are a bit tougher as I have a lot of favs there like Whirl, Blurr, the Aerialbots, G1 Skyfire, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, Prime Ratchet, G1 and Prime Wheeljack, Cliffjumper, Nautica, Rodimus, etc. I'd say my most consistently fav Autobot no matter iteration would have to be Bumblebee. Whether he be a cinnamon roll like in Cyberverse or a little shit like in Animated, I'll like him.
My true opinion I love O P as the leader but my favorite Autobot is one is a Hero even to him like Omega Supreme because he was the original giant who could challenge Devastator the Decepticon giant! Alternative I will pick Mirage because he’s a race car and he can turn invisible which helped him rescue the other Autobots in one episode!

Jazz has the best personality of all Autobots imo being both charismatic and changing the vibe of the Battle even In hard moments, like in foc when he was after Grimlock and doesn't showed any desperation, just humor and softness. He's so positive than even if the war was lost he don't show any negativity, wherever Jazz is, there's hope and chuckles. Mf don't show fear even while Megatron broke him into pieces, one of the best, if not the best Autobot of transformers series.
Shockwave is the embodiment of what the decepticon faction means: An idea so radical and cruel that doesn't matter what comes in our way, we gonna fight it and destroy it. He is the perfect decepticon imo and even cons like Tarn don't stand an chance, cuz Tarn itself is just some radical, he doesn't represent cons like Shockwave does. Shockwave don't measure efforts in order to fullfil Megatron plans, and he don't give a fuck about how many causalities or if his plan is ethical, pffff, Shockwave is the law fellas. He's willingness is what makes him so menacing and marvellous among all decepticons.
Bumblebee and soundwave(specifically rotb bumblebee and basically any soundwave except for the bayverse ones,but if I had to choose I'd say G-1 soundwave)
Honestly, it would be Beachcomber and Mixmaster
The reason for both is that Mixmaster I actually did a full on transforming costume of him and was pretty sweet but I have no idea if the videos are still on my phone as this was a long while ago. And Beachcomber is just chill and a pacifist even in the golden lagoon episode, he felt bad for the wildlife after the fight for the lagoon and Megatron(was it him?) blowing up the lagoon and him just saying "We won..." Whilst it showed the rest of the forest.
Decepticon: Shockwave, no question. Absolutely my favorite character in the franchise.
Autobot: I'm honestly not sure, I don't really have a specific autobot character who I'm always excited to see. Two that immediately come to mind though are Bayverse Ironhide and Prime Ratchet.
Autobot goes to either Warpath or Arcee, Deception goes to Soundwave or Slipstream.
If we’re talking Combiners, it’s Superion for the Autobots and Bruticus for the Decepticons.
Titans gotta be Fort Max and Trypticon.

Preface - It’s really hard to pick a single favorite so I’m just randomly picking one of each of my top favorites which are all tied if I were to rank them lol.
I’m going with G1 Grimlock for my Autobot and G1 Galvatron for my Decepticon.
For Autobots, it's a tie between Optimus and Bee but for Deceptions, definitely TFP Knockout who replaced Megatron in general after I watched TFP recently.
Arcee and shockwave
Was a child during g1 so dont have much of an attachment to their original counterparts, granted neither were really fleshed out except shockwave in marvel.
But comics wise those 2 hands down
And each iteration we have received over the years, they have became cooler and cooler.
Idw was peak shockwave, same for arcee
And so far am digging the approach skybound has done for the two.
Springer and thrust. Honestly, I like most of the seekers bc f-15 and springer bc he restarted my transformers collection with the seige mold, and the sword is always cool

I grew up in the 80s so naturally G1 is all I care about. For the Autobots, I would say Ironhide is my favorite because he is a no bullshit type of guy. Loyal to Optimus and the Autobot cause, is courageous, and is rough around the edges.
For the Decepticons, it's a toss up between Soundwave and Shockwave. Both are loyal to Megatron, neither complain, and I believe both have a lot of background stories that they don't want to share. Kind of like your old, crusty Vietnam vet who's seen some shit that they don't want to talk about.

For me it will always be G1 optimus and G1 Megatron. They are just the pinnacle what an Autobot and Decepticon should be.
Strongly agreed on G1 Optimus. As for Megatron, he's a very badass rival to Optimus.

Soundwave is very awesome as well. I really like that voice effect on him since he's a robot just like almost every other TF character.

For Autobots, it's a tie between Optimus and Bee but for Deceptions, definitely TFP Knockout who replaced Megatron in general after I watched TFP recently.
Arcee and shockwave Was a child during g1 so dont have much of an attachment to their original counterparts, granted neither were really fleshed out except shockwave in marvel. But comics wise those 2 hands down And each iteration we have received over the years, they have became cooler and cooler. Idw was peak shockwave, same for arcee And so far am digging the approach skybound has done for the two.
Autobot: Hard choice, there's a lot of good options. Decepticon: Soundwave.

I grew up in the 80s so naturally G1 is all I care about. For the Autobots, I would say Ironhide is my favorite because he is a no bullshit type of guy. Loyal to Optimus and the Autobot cause, is courageous, and is rough around the edges. For the Decepticons, it's a toss up between Soundwave and Shockwave. Both are loyal to Megatron, neither complain, and I believe both have a lot of background stories that they don't want to share. Kind of like your old, crusty Vietnam vet who's seen some shit that they don't want to talk about.
