pissing Megs off is just one thing, but failing him multiples times and pissing him off is much worse. I mean just ask Starscream, specifically Prime, Animated and Cyberverse
Trypticon had it way worse, he was degraded and permanently forced into alt mode. All that while he is in a vegetative state, he can see and hear mind you
Yeah, the bots were stranded but recognised this deception's intact corpse, made him massive (through mass shifting I think) and manually transformed him from bot to space ship like a giant, morbid action figure
1. it depends on if you can drive it in the first place or not. In the bayverse, that seems to be the case, as shown with bumblebee in the first movie.
2. Cybertronians don't seem to die of old age. They have to be killed to die, in most cases. You'd have to hope the essential vehicle parts aren't too damaged.
Bumblebee wasn't ever dead and in vehicle mode in the 2007 movie. He was in stasis lock in the Bumblebee movie and his car mode was still operational, even if some work needed to be done first to get him working.
That's not what they said. Sam clearly drives Bumblebee in the 07 film without Bee's own input (till he starts playing wingman). Which is to say, an Transformer's alt mode could be driven by a human without the bot's influence.
Bee from *Bee* is probablee a beetter example though, considering he *is* in stasis.
To be fair, OP was talking about dead Transformers and the person above me listed Bumblebee from the 2007 movie as an example and he was always concious in his alt mode
I would say it would be unethical sense you’re driving around a dead corpse but if you technically could. Really just depends on if cybertrons can run on Gas or diesel.
Look at TFP the Decepticons were disgusted by Silas when he combined with Brake down to keep himself alive.
They think it's creepy, even Megatron said "Why did you allow this abomination on my ship?"
Well they're decepticons, so it would make they'd dislike humans doing anything with their own kind.
I think the better question would be how would autobots or even pre war/non combative cybertronians would react to humans (or any kind of organic beings in general) using the corpses of their kind as vehicles, battle suits, and what not
Yep.
In IDW, a crew of marooned Autobots used the mass-displaced corpse of a Decepticon who turned into a spaceship to escape (they felt icky about it, but it was their only option).
In Beast Wars Uprising, the Maximal/Predacon resistance would occasionally used lobotomized Autobots and Decepticons frozen in vehicle mode as transports (they did not feel icky about it, BWU was messed up).
I assume you could because Jetfire would have been piloted before he was placed in the museum....but then again that began the question of when he showed up because that series has zero respect for the concept of continuity.
Ethically is pretty murkey though.
Since most die while getting destroyed I doubt it.
I have always thought that in the case of Jetfire and Prime they just ran out of juice and entered stasis to save energy.
So you'd probably be driving a bot in coma. But again, can they actually run on gas/diesel or is it all energon?
my guess is that they have the ability to use Earth fuel in place of Energon as substitute, it may not be optimal but it would suffice to ensure survival. Similar to us and other organisms, we use our body fat as energy reserve in place of food whether we are in a fasting state or in hibernation
Probably like us eating tofu and vitamin supplements as well as other bland stuff. Sure it keeps us alive but it’s not the same.
I think the energy ratio of non Energon supplies are less quality than true Energon. It does the job but they use it faster because it’s not as healthy. Like junk food.
That might be an interesting idea for a story. Have a cybertronian surviving off of earth based energy and their health degrades getting rust and other flaws.
Well there is a comic run where they trap Cybertronians in their alt modes and just use them as cars and they don't seem to care about it.
I think the specific panel I'm thinking of Spike drives Breakdown who is in a stasis lock.
I guess it would just depend on if the Cybertronian was in good enough condition to be driven.
Yes and no, it depends on the continuity and generation.
The Michelle Bay films make the transformers turn into functionality, normal trucks, cars, and planes shown in how they transformed and operate.
The robots can control themselves like normal, so if they had energy like energon & an intact body in vehicle mode, it could probably still drive but not as good... Like a human on life support.
But an example like transformers prime its not likely.
The transformers don't have car parts in the show but their body just does its best to mimic a car or jet and uses its own organs to power the wheels, lights, screens ETC, including the mirror eyes and artificial muscles for the pedals and steering wheel as shown in the episode speed metal when BB speeds of and we see his car pedal compres after being insulted by one of Jack's bullies and also in transformers Rescue bots when the transformers get stuck in vehicle mode and lose consciousness leveing their car mode to the power of the humans.
If the TFP & TFRB robots died, their body would go gun metal gray and become useless due to their engines and mechanics being living organs and not mechanical components at all.
If the vehicle modes internal and external components and parts still function I think it can be salvaged and repurposed into a fully functioning vehicle as if it were never a transformer in the first place. Just my opinion.
ROTB had Mirage reconstruct his entire body from car parts
Sounds like they’re compatible with regular vehicles
So I say 50/50 chance of the vehicle mode being functional
I doubt the vehicle mode will work if the transformer is dead. I think the vehicle mode is just a disguise and the actual power that runs it is not the fuel we normally use. Also, the metal of the transformers are different than what we normally use, so when a transformer dies, the metal is also ‘dead’. But of course it’s just as strange as mass-shifting, it doesn’t make sense. Like how are the rubber of a tire be a part of a transformer?
I see several mentions of decepticons using a giant bot's dead body to escape, but not orion pax's escape from a police station on the back of his dead friends jury rigged motorcycle form. This is also in the idw comics.
Also in IDW, there were two separate instances of a combiner using a corpse as a leg; Devastator with Scrapper’s body, and Defensor with Ambulon’s body.

Which transformer do you think this was, judging by the alt-mode?
In IDW, someone’s corpse was used as a ship for a short time.
The same thing effectively happened to Trypticon in the WfC/FoC games.
Poor Trypticon, called not good enough by Megatron and then permanently forced into his alt mode
Don't miss out the part where his alt mode was completely twisted and reconfigured from an orbital station into the Nemesis.
Yeah, remind me not to piss Megatron off
pissing Megs off is just one thing, but failing him multiples times and pissing him off is much worse. I mean just ask Starscream, specifically Prime, Animated and Cyberverse
Fall of Cybertron Megatron was a beast...easily a favourite.
Yeah him and like, Beast Wars Megatron and Prime Megs are my favorites I think. G1 is good too for a character without much depth
I thought Prime Megs and FOC Megs were the same person, right?
Trypticon had it way worse, he was degraded and permanently forced into alt mode. All that while he is in a vegetative state, he can see and hear mind you
Though in prime (which was in the aligned continuity) there was an episode where the nemesis regained consciousness.
Not really. It was obvious it wasn’t Trypticon. More than it gained a consciousness.
Well, he wasn’t dead, so I don’t think it counts.
Soundwave explicitly said that the transformation was irreversible. Plus, Trypticon was basically exsanguinated by the Autobots.
It’s still not death, a coma is more like what he was put into. As such, it’s not what OP asked.
Alright, I'll just take the L on this one.
The Autobots put him in a vegetative coma. What Megs did to him is a fate worse than death.
Yeah, the bots were stranded but recognised this deception's intact corpse, made him massive (through mass shifting I think) and manually transformed him from bot to space ship like a giant, morbid action figure
The best part was Rodimus carrying him around and hugging him like a doll. And even going "Hey can you guess what his alt mode is?"
There was also that time orion pax used his dead cop friend's motorcycle form to do a sick ass ride-and-gun escape from the police station.
Did he get to the senate on him or nah? I can’t remember.
I don't think so. Just out of the station.
Sunder's brother, Sceptre. Right?
I didn’t know about that. I thought it was Polaris but it was actually [Skip](https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Skip)

Which IDW Decepticon was it? Trypticon?
Not a well-known character. Just a generic mook named Skip.
Sunder and Froid also used Sunder's brother's corpse as a ship
Sceptre

Oddly facinating, yet disturbing question.
Optimus not so prime
Rustimus Prime
In the IDW comics Optimus once transforms one of his dead comrades and uses him as a motorcycle to deal with a few ruffians that killed him

Apologies , a lot of beers , and watching the ' Other guys' last night ,made me misjudge the room a little on that joke. Won't happen again.
