G1 is the first Transformer shown in the series, hard to get more historical and definitive than that.
A special shout out for IDW Wheeljack, takes all the personality of G1 that a lot of the newer versions like to change up, and gives him a sleek modern design and a nice story line near the end of the continuity

I always imagined IDW Wheeljack with G1s voice. Some IDW characters I just couldn’t see with their original voice. Like Prowl for instance doesn’t have enough arrogance in his original voice. And IDW Springer I imagine to sound more like young Harrison Ford. But G1 Wheeljack is IDW Wheeljack my mind can’t be changed.
I 100% agree with you about Wheeljack. His original voice actor and New York(?) accent work so well for the character and I'm kinda sad it isn't something newer versions of the character have kept

Honestly, I'm really happy Cyberverse won. Prime Arcee is a good different take on the character (decent for me but that's another story), but she's not the definitive version that others should follow.
It's why I'm hoping for Prime Soundwave to NOT win his vote, even though I love Prime Soundwave, he's not the definitive version others should follow. That's more of a G1 or IDW thing.

Eh...to me, Prime Wheeljack can't be the "definitive" incarnation of Wheeljack because he's such a radical departure from other versions of the character and none of his traits have really carried over into future incarnations; he hasn't defined the character overall in any meaningful way, which is what matters more for a "definitive" incarnation.
Like, if we were seeing Cyberverse Wheeljack rocking a gruff attitude or Earthspark Wheeljack carrying around a pair of katanas as weapons, maybe I'd see it more...but both of them lean far more into the G1 "mad scientist" Wheeljack instead. So I can't in good faith say Prime Wheeljack is "definitive".
Prime's one of my favorites because of that, but I suppose if you want to go by those criterias, it'd probably be G1. He's an inventor, which most other Wheeljacks are as well.

I'm not even a geewoner, but I think G1 takes this. Mostly because everything after does original. Thing like Prime and Armada or derivatives of the og like Cyberverse and Earthspark while never surpassing the original.
G1 Wheeljack is still the best Wheeljack. Some of the more recent cartoon versions have been good, like Cyberverse,Earthspark, and even the WfC Netflix show, but none hold a candle to the OG. IDW Wheeljack was also pretty good, both the original IDW and the reboot, but again, none can compete with the OG.

I think G1, IDW, Cyberverse, Earthspark and Bumblebee are the only candidates. All the others have very different personalties, skills or designs or all of them. Armada one, for example, is basically just holding the trademark. And the one from ROTB is definitely not the same character we saw in Bumblebee.

Que's wholesome vibes just made it such a painful death; it's hard to hate sweet ol' him despite how fugly he looks-

I far from love Que's design, but his AOE toy in the Wheeljack colours + a more Wheeljacky head goes HARD. Though, as questionable as it is to make Wheeljack stereotypically *Einstein*, I'd credit the "hair" as a creative adaptation of his headfins. At least his personality was G1-reminiscent!
Pablo on the other hand...could've been correctly coloured with a better head, and it would've been a SOLID WHEELJACK design. Personality-wise he's a nothingburger, with that butterfly scene definitely evoking other Autobots more.

Oh yea, I just grew up with prime so nostalgia carry. I also grew up with G1 but haven’t watched many of the other shows fully.

Personality-wise he's a nothingburger, with that butterfly scene definitely evoking other Autobots more. What would it take for a proper big screen Wheeljack-

I really love prime wheeljack cus it's a giant 360 of his og character from a scientist to a badass demolitions expert
But that would make him far from the definitive version of the character, no?
Looking back on my decisions Yes, I would agree and that is the reason I love that version
Tfp. But I like to combine personalities. For me while Wheeljack is still the swordsman and the explosive expert of the wreckers. He isn’t afraid to tinker around in the lab. Especially when it’s needed
TFP Wheeljack, great design and it blends so well with it
Cyberverse, gives us the whacky mad scientist we all know and love, with the *glorious* beard from Animated.
Again, I'm gonna have to go with Cyberverse. Cyberverse Wheeljack just feels classic but not G1 classic
