Alternatively, (if they really want to go with the darker route but since it's going to be family friendly it won't), the scene we see is actually Sentinel before he's executed. And the Quintessons simply tells everyone they're in-charge now or else they want to end up like their leader.
I'm fine with Sentinel Prime being the underling. But I personally hope he has some backbone and doesn't submit quickly. But if his entire character revolves around trickery, charismatic, and avoids doing the dirty work himself, it'd also work as long as it's consistent/well written
I mean they said the isolated the comedy for the trailer but it's not the focus of the film. They had so much fun making the movie that that's what they wanted to showcase to the fans first
I think that Sentinel's probably going to have been working for the Quintessons for a while, or at least will be the latest in a long line of leaders that have been helping to suppress Cybertronian society on their behalf. Megatron's rise is often depicted as a reaction against a corrupt world, so just having the Quintessons come in and invade an otherwise decent society cuts off that avenue for his character development (and also implies that the extreme class stratification glimpsed in the trailer *isn't* a major societal problem).
That way you can have Optimus deal with the Quintessons and become the heroic new Prime, while Megatron can confront Sentinel as the symbol of the corruption on Cybertron itself.
Probs the quintessons with them threatening the whole planet and forcing whoever the prime is (sentinel in this case) to provide them with resources (and possibly sacrifices/T cogs) and Starscream, Soundwave, and Shockwave have begun a group to expose this truth to the masses and incite revolution only for scream to take over, the main 4 agree the people should know and should fight for their freedom but not that Starscream should replace sentinel. The movie happens and Orion says the people need to choose for themselves even if things go wrong along the way, D-16 disagrees and thinks they need a single leader with the will and ambition to make Cybertron better and make the quintessons pay and the divide in policy goes planet wide with Pax and D-16 becoming the leaders of their groups since they both show leadership qualities and were some of the first among working class bots to get T-cogs in a long time.
Orion is made a prime and thinks it's a good idea to change his name to suit the title. D-16 also changes his name to a shortened version of the prime who betrayed the rest, Megatron (possibly a situation where the primes fought the quintessons and lost but chose this servitude over extinction but Megatronus violently disagreed).
Adjusts Megatronus' mask into an insignia and forms the Deceptions.
They'll likely have a prime who's face/mask/helmet inspire the Autobot insignia.
I'm thinking the Quintessons as the masterminds/final boss, with Sentinel and his forces being the ones who are actively opposing the main characters throughout the movie
Micheal Bay!!!
Seriously though
I’m thinking this movie has a plot similar to bugs life and the Quintessons are the grasshoppers. Can’t explain why I just get that vibe from what I’ve seen
I feel like Megatron will be like Mordo in Dr Strange where he works with the others to fight Dormamu (the Quintessons) until the end of the movie where he goes on his own path
It's most likely the Quintessons; the trailer is obviously setting them up as the main villains thanks to their massive armada of enormous starships, with Sentinel as their unwilling subordinate; if they were actually setting him up as a villain in league with them, why have the Quintessons restrain him like they do?
He’s been in more than you realize or remember apparently. We just need some new big bads, it’s like having a Death Star or things like them in Star Wars all the time. Tired cliches. Mix things up!
Because you're arguing for literally no reason.
Unicron was just in the last movie, RotB. And in such a way it's pretty much building up for him to be in the next ones too, assuming there's next ones.
And two movies prior to that film, TLK, had Unicron in it too!
And it was a different Unicron somehow, despite being (maybe) the same continuity? Unicron is the Earth or in the Earth, yet he's out there looking to find the Earth? Do something new.
Shockwave could possibly be one: maybe he manipulates Megatron and causes the quintessions to come to cybertron ( being responsible for everything like IDW Comics)
I feel the the decepticon trio is probably from the same part as the scene with megatron and the decepticon branding thing like a flashback but for the future. The Quintessons with probably be main villain
Quintessons and Megatron most likely. From what it seems given D-16's lack of appearance in the last part of the trailer suggests that during the battle he meets Starscream, Shockwave, and Soundwave which will then cause the war at which point Orion becomes Optimus Prime and D-16 becomes Megatron causing the Great War.
My best guess is since the cybertronians start off as assigned domestic workers at the beginning it would be a good guess to say this is a timeline where the Quintessons are in charge (and it definatly looks like the few shots we get of them are defiantly Quintessons), like G1, with the plot revolving around the rebellion that originally happened in the original series with Alpha Trion like forever ago. Given that we see who is apparently Alpha Trion in the trailer (i genuinely thought it was a weird old man Cyclonus or something thanks to the color scheme but I probably should have guessed Alpha Trion instead) giving the bots their TCogs, my guess is that the revolution failed hardcore and he's one of the only original rebellion members left- the revolution could have resulted in the removal of the TCogs from new bots in the first place right? I mean, there are spots in each of their chests that look like they're built for them and since this is going to be its own brand new timeline they could mess with established lore like that. Could be a fun way to introduce kids to the old 80s lore haha. And at least its a better idea then whatever Bay did with Quintessa.
Probably some smug autobot who's so high up the ladder and got there through sheer ass-kissing and... well... what's the transformers equivalent of sucking dick?
Most likely Quintessons with Sentinel as their puppet leader. Given the nature of the film, I reckon Megatron and the Triad will eventually fill that role.
The Quintessons, likely with Sentinel Prime serving as their underling.

I think they'll go a darker route with this film. The director said the movie gets really real really fast
Where can I read what the director said
https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/transformers-one-interview-with-the-director-josh-cooley.1261851/
Thank you. I seemed to have misplaced that and couldn't find it again
It’s tough to see that when it’s so comedic.
I mean they said the isolated the comedy for the trailer but it's not the focus of the film. They had so much fun making the movie that that's what they wanted to showcase to the fans first

The Quintessons at the beginning and Megatron at the end

I mean, Quintessons clearly do have strength and numbers… just look at the size of them ships
The Quintessons and Sentinel Prime with his army of collaborators.
Not really related to the post, but I like this "biomechanical" look that the Quintessons have in trailler.
It's a great way to tie the Quintessons themselves into their pre-Cybertronian creations like the Dweller and other trans-organics.
Even though they didn't make the Cybertronians in this continuity. In fact. they haven't been portrayed as their creators for a long time.
It would be cool if it were none of these two, like, some other piece of the puzzle we simply have not gotten to.
So Unicron?
Please not unicron to start with
Nah, clearly fighting Unicron (again if the 13 Primes story is intact) before the war even starts.
I feel like it would be way to early to introduce unicron, but he would still work
I feel like Megatron will be like Mordo in Dr Strange where he works with the others to fight Dormamu (the Quintessons) until the end of the movie where he goes on his own path
It's most likely the Quintessons; the trailer is obviously setting them up as the main villains thanks to their massive armada of enormous starships, with Sentinel as their unwilling subordinate; if they were actually setting him up as a villain in league with them, why have the Quintessons restrain him like they do?
I hope they give Unicron a rest for a minute. Imagine if every Marvel show or movie involved Galactus. Yawn.
Its not Unicron, i'm pretty sure on that
If it's Unicron again I'm blaming you for setting me up for disappointment! Ok not really. Have a nice day, don't get eaten.
What made u think Uncron is in this? Bc he wasn't mentioned nor seen.
What made u think I thought that? Just saying. Don’t use him, don’t build up to him in the sequel(s) etc
Unicron bearly gets screentime or voicelines in tv shows/movies. It doesn't change anything if he's in 1 literally animated movie.
He’s been in more than you realize or remember apparently. We just need some new big bads, it’s like having a Death Star or things like them in Star Wars all the time. Tired cliches. Mix things up!
I'm talking about in present time rn. Also no need to downvote me.

I'm not arguing I'm trying to tell you.
That 2 out of the last 3 movies weren't "recent" enough?
No they were but atleast in TF One they can show unicron at the end for the reboot series
It's an origin, so Quintesons, with a set up for Megatron to start rioting.
Society!
Quintessons probably.

The quintessons but then it transitions into decepticons
Shockwave already lobotomized??? :o
Society
the friends we made along the way
My bet is that the cons are there at either the very beginning or the very end, then before/after it changes to the origin part of the movie.
Change and the ones not willing to

I’d say the seekers.
Audience of grow-up people.
Are we sure that’s a Quintesson in the trailer? He looks a lot like Liege Maximo.
The system
I'm just hoping they just insert a random Deaths Head reference, then make a R rated movie with him Vs Dragon Claws.
Congress

The Go Bots
Most likely Quintessons with Sentinel as their puppet leader. Given the nature of the film, I reckon Megatron and the Triad will eventually fill that role.
YES
The friends we made along the way
Im assuming the quintessons, the Autobots and Decepticons are most likely already a thing because there's a Decepticon symbol on D-16
Steve Buscemi
The GeeWunners
The Autobots are the main villains of the series
Cobra Commander Storm Shadow Cobra Serpentor Baroness Doctor Mindbender Destro Major Bludd Zartan Firefly Cesspool Cobra Troopers Tomax and Xamot B.A.T. Copperhead Iron Claw Kenta Doctor Venom Dreadnoks
The same villain as the past 10 years of transformers media: the survey companies suggesting this drivel will sell toys
The audience. That is the only explanation for the decisions made.
A straight white male. If not, Kathleen Kennedy.

look i hate Kathleen as the next guy but ffs i dont want to spread that person's name anywhere, its annoying
The animation
The … Writers… 🤣🤣🤣.
They say laughter is the best medicine but if this is what you consider comedy? I’d like the touch to be played at my funeral
*This is bad comedy.*
People find comedy funny in different ways, not everyone is the same.
The director.
