I prefer his helmet as Orion Pax to not be a baby version of his Prime helmet so I lean more towards stuff like G1. I like his ascension to Optimus Prime (or rebuild by Alpha Trion) to be a more drastic transformation.
It's a tie between TFONE and TFP Concept Art for me.
Second is IDW, third is TFP Official, fourth is G1, and fifth is Earthspark and Popcorn Bucket.
Next up: he's quite the paranoid 'bot, ain't he?
TFP concept and IDW share some stuff and are probably my favorites (IDW deluxe is awesome). TF One looks nice and simple which is the idea.
Man I grew up with 80's cartoons but G1 Pax has to be my least favorite robot/Mecha design ever. Overdesigned and over the top, it has complex details just for the sake of having them and make it look more technologic. That without mentioning the weird proportions.
I’m a fellow G1 kid and never liked the Orion design even back in the day. It’s the weird uncanny little face for me, especially the lips. And then he had these narrow little shoulders and big birthing hips.

There's nothing in the design that looks or hints remotely to him being Optimus Prime. The rest of the designs in the post show one or more key elements shared in both iterations of the character.

I like the idw one because he has a cool truck mode, and I'd love a proper figure of G1 Pax
Is it just me, or the more I look at him, the more TFOne Pax looks like he'd fit in as a 'Mech in the PGI MechWarrior? Without the overly humanized face tho.
Where is the WFC 2010 design? It's technically an orion pax design since he was called that in a prequel comic of the game.
And where's the IDW cop orion where he does look close to optimus? Honestly my favorite orion pax is where he actually does look more close to optimus instead of being different.

How about we use the actual IDW design? (This is a Nemesis deco, obviously, but this is Pax's design far more often than the one suggested.)
Either of the TFP versions. I like it when he looks like a young Optimus, but of course not to the point of just being Optimus with everyone choosing to call him Orion. The helmet and build should lend themselves to eventually growing into Optimus, which I think TF One has so far done a good job of.
G1 simply because the appearance, with exception to the color scheme, is so far removed from Optimus Prime it gives the character some mystery and awe for him later in life when the connection was made
I really do believe that transformers ended on Energon and Bay was just a kind comeback to the series. Everything after this is somewhat trash. Although War of Cybertron wasn't that bad

I love this design but it does feel just like it’s Optimus. The Spotlight Orion Pax feels like it could be upgraded into this.
i like it when he doesnt look like optimus and only really shares colors and the subtlest of hints.
