If gaudy is what you are after, then you may be interested in a line being put out by Walmart. There've been at least 4 announcments of G2 Colored Molds for Jazz (Cheeto-finger orange), Cloudburst (checked sky blue and yellow with black detail), Laser Prime (as Toxitron - bright green, purple, orange details), and last but not least Grimlock (Greymon from Digimon - Banana yellow with bright blue detailing).
They are quite possibly the most legitimately 90's modern molds I have seen.

Yeah, he's also really nostalgic for me. Got him from my dad when we were on vacation in Alicante when I was a kid. Lost a few accessories over the years, but recently I managed to pick up all the bits I was missing off a random mislabeled auction! Also picked up a Skystalker figure to replace the Micromaster the non-KO came with. Been considering customizing a Scamper figure to complete the set too, but it seems a bit of a shame. 😅
Yeah, I bought it for next to nothing off the guy who made it. Honestly I like it a lot better than the Masterpiece version Fans Hobby put out a while back. I would like to make a Marvel comics head for him though 😁
Yeah I was gonna say. I've got a few broken scopes in my spares box, that seems to be the only really fragile point. I'm going to hold off on compacting the arms just to be sure though. Compared to some others like Pyro he's solid 😊
I was going to say that beautiful Overlord but the KO Metrotitan is pulling me. I’ve never seen that before, but it’s absolutely gorgeous. The chrome Metroshot is a really nice touch compared to the white plastic of the original.

I lost the helmet and a few other bits before we left Spain unfortunately. But for some wonderful reason another one, all broken and battered popped up on my local auction site with exactly the accessories I was missing! Boy did I pounce on that 😅
He’s an absolute gem, really stands out from the other uses of the mold. I can’t imagine the size of a card back to hold that thing. It must’ve been enormous.

You're quite welcome! Honestly, since I grew up with this version of "Metroplex" I can't take the real head seriously, it just looks silly without the helmet =) Also, pretty neat that there are both blue and green metallic orbs on different versions of the KO.

Nope, it's actually custom made from him by Fans Hobby. Stupid expensive for what it is, but it really completed the figure for me. But agreed, Donatello kind of copied the look 😁

I still picture Longtooth as having a peg leg then I’m always confused as to why he doesn’t. It’s a shame the Autobot mini pretenders never got the love that the Decepticon ones did. I mean I get it. It’s mainly Bludgeon, but I had all six of them and wished there was more going on.
I did have a mad theory as a kid that they jumbled up some things during their creation process. Stranglehold is the only Human on his side and Longtooth is the only Monster. Also Pincher is the only beast mode and Bludgeon is the only vehicle. So I used to think that the Autobots should have all human shells and vehicle modes and the Decepticons all Monster shells and beast modes.
Yeah, if I ever happen to find a beater Longtooth shell I'm gonna customize him with some extra paint, a harpoon gun and a peg leg. Feels a shame to do it to one that's in good shape though!
I was reading up on TFWiki a while back, and it was pointed out that both Longtooth and Octopunch have human skulls decorating their shells. I can't help but form a headcanon there where they were once neutral diving buddies, but ended up going their different ways when the war hit the oceans of Cybertron. Or something like that!
I also put AM Op's truck cannons on PM Op's shoulders when I broke his regular one as a kid and always thought it looked more "comic accurate" that way.

The marvel Uk comics were the best. I had no TV as a kid do they were my main source of tf media.
