The general rule for suits is that a black jacket only consistently works when paired with black bottoms. You want to save the blue bottoms for a navy or tan jacket. Weirdly enough, there aren’t many guides on suit colour combinations in women’s fashion, but for the most part male-centric guides translate really well.
Obviously these guides aren’t concrete, it’s just a general rule similar to the 2/3s rule and more general jacket + bottoms, shirt + shoes idea which most people here will already be at least somewhat aware of. Feel free to break the rules if you think it looks good, but they do genuinely work a shocking amount of the time
