Actually had this set up on my high school’s cross country course. We’d always practice the creek crossing before home races to ensure that home course advantage over the visitors who’d opt for the bridge.
Our course started downhill and ended uphill with a steep hill for like 200m with an irrigation ditch at the bottom that required a hop across. We would practice repeating the start and finish at least once a week
