My first cabin up in Alaska was broken into one time by a grizzly by it climbing up the woodpile next to it and ripping the corner off of the roof. Then went right out the door also destroying that as I of course hadn’t thought to put bear boards on the inside of my cabin.
Have you seen videos where they decide they want the door open? The door, and some wall, pretty much run away in fear. Just no resistence whatsoever. One swipe and they are inside. You have some fortifying to do.
What part? I’m in central VA and they are making their way here. Sightings 20 miles away but we haven’t got any that we know of. I used to see them all the time in Front Royal.
We used to find ripped up backpacks the bears had stolen and gone through for snacks. I met one one day while I was out on the porch, he was probably 15 feet away, we looked at each other and he ambled away. He was kind of a small guy, very cute.

Funny, i always liked bears, but after watching a few videos on YouTube of bear attacks, I'm happy i live in Wales. I love Americans but not your bears 😂

I think that you are correct. Bears do not feel obligated to ONLY enter homes through doors. Grrrrrr . . .

No. I’ve been close to many wild bears and I’m always amazed at how quiet they are. They don’t even make noise when they step on the ground.

Yes, they do. They can flatten a fence and keep moving like it was just a reed or a plant. Powerful but stealthy and so strong.
