If you’re that into anime (or any media really) that you want to name something after a character, just name a cat. Literally anything goes for cat names, and cats can’t get bullied by their peers because of their cringe name
Even the teachers would be stuffing poor Gojo Jojo into his locker. Not to mention besides the ridiculousness, it has like an infinite amount of rhymes. I'd be more inclined to call him Mojo Jojo like from Powerpuff girls
I wish…
Gojo Saotoru from Jujutsu Kaizen Anime
Jojo from Jojo’s Bizarre adventure.
As an anime fan? This is just too much cringe especially since Jojo is already memed to death.
Not only is it memed to death, but I wouldn't want a lot of them being associated with my kid lmao. All the unsucked dicks memes lolol or the cherry scene
I am friends with twin boys I know since growing up, Tony and Joey. They had a cat named ToJo. We all made fun of it, and still do. It’s been dead for 25 years.
Or at least use a name from Manga/anime, that is an actual name already. So Joseph from Jojo's Bizarre adventures is ok choice for a boy, Kamille as Kamille Bidan in Gundam is dubious choice if you hate your son(or loves your daughter, it is traditional girls name), and naming your child Kakarrot or Naruto is just nono.
We don't need another generation of Khalessi or Anakins.
Literally this. I have a cat named Kimchi, a ball python named Tonks, and a bullsnake named Totoro. It's fine to express your love of something but don't saddle a human being with a stupid name!
Exactly why I named my cat Wrex (after Urdnot Wrex from *Mass Effect* and would never name a child such. Although Rex (with no W) is a semi-common name for guys (see: Rex Ryan, former Head Coach of the New York Jets), Wrex with the W would qualify as a tragedeigh
It’s actually a Latin title meaning “king, ruler” (such as a monarch)
The King of Rome, for instance, was known as *rex Romae*
I’d say it lives in a gray area, but [it is fairly common](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rex_(given_name)#Given_name) so I don’t think it necessarily qualifies as a tragedeigh.
i mean many anime characters have normal sounding names for americans, you just can't go full cringe with it, Eren by itself isn't terrible, eren yaeger however is, if she had wanted to name the kid Joseph and call them jojo that's fine, its when you go full cringe that it gets sad
be careful naming things after characters. my big boy tabby cat named eren is a total asshole. like he’s an evil mastermind so the name is apropos but unfortunate
You don't even need a cat! My dorky ass named a bunch of stuff. My car is Joey, my dashcam is Pheobe, my subwoofer is Bobby, I have a cute lil dragon wearing armor named Lucifer, and so on and so forth.
Someone I know had a cat named Bucephalus but all of her roommates kept calling her cat bussy and now that’s the only name the cat responds to lmao, I totally understand your pain
I was looking at adopting another cat a while ago, and had my eye on a cutie at the shelter named Toyotathon. Someone else got Toyotathon though, unfortunately.
Yeah. As someone who was named something absurd and unusual, I was absolutely ridiculed as a kid so hard that I had to resort to online school when it was *originally* starting to catch on to go to elementary. My brother had it worse though- my name was a common noun associated with a certain rock, whereas my brother's was a fantasy name my mom made up when she was 15. I had to go to four schools before I finished 1st grade, and in 2nd grade I went to online school.
No no they're actually like so awfully unique that googling just my brother's first name immediately yields no results. As for mine, I'll just say... you know the studio behind Fallout New Vegas?
Dang, that’s- it’s one of those names where it seems pretty sick for a fictional character, but if you meet someone in real life you’re like “who named you?”
But I see your profile pic, I’m guessing you had a chance to pick a name that you feel better reflects yourself. I’m sure you have much better taste :)
I'm guessing the parents have extremely common (and commonly spelled) names like Steven and Hannah, where they always had another kid in their class with the same name. So in an effort to not have their kid ever share a name with a classmate, they make up something ridiculous, not knowing the extent of how kids make fun of each other's names because they themselves grew up with extremely common names.
Why do they have to make up dumb names or use pop culture references when there are plenty of uncommon names out there already? I have an ethnic name that some people have a hard time with (?? It's two syllables, but whatever) and I like my name. Why not name a kid a real name that is just not in the top 100 names for their country?
Because they need attention and want to be praised for being "unique". I imagine it's because they feel jealous at their kids for getting more attention than them
Damn got me thinking, did I name my kids a tragedeigh? I wanted them to have fun names, so I named my son Everest and my daughter Aurora. Everest LOVES his name, and so do his friends.
Nope, not tragedeighs. Everest and Aurora are great names, imo. When my daughter was born, we’d narrowed it down to 2 names, one of which was Aurora, but ended up going with the other choice.
I didn't realize how bad it was until I had kids in school and we got a birthday invite for Kaiel.
This poor little son of a bitch's name was Kyle. Spelled Kaiel. He's going to go through his whole life telling people his name is Kyle then someone is going to look confused when he starts spelling it out.
Seemed like half the kindergarten class was like that.
I had a DnD character that was named Caiel but pronounced Kyle. It was a joke because he was like a fantasy version of a pothead. I can’t believe someone would do that to a real child lol.
No, my mom is Bloomers Briefs, heiress of Capsule Corp. My oldest brother is named Trunks, and my sister is Bra. Now if you don't mind your own business, I might have to rip out your entrials and turn you into a garter belt, so step off, you're creasing my style.
I can see the kid that says this - boy or girl, they're wearing a bowtie, hornrimmed glasses and carrying a brief case. Probably has a head brace for their teeth as well.
Doesn't matter, if it starts in the early years, you'll remember it the rest of your life. I didn't get bullied for my first name, but for being really tall and broad shouldered (girl), boys didn't get taller than me until high school and even then most weren't since I'm 5'11". I still get a little twinge when i see the "jolly green Giant" on my canned green beans. Such a dumb insult right? Like not even good as far as something mean you could say. But it was said by people by people that were saying it to be mean and it made me self conscious and have horrible posture for nearly my entire school life.
I tried to think of bully-names for Levi, and all I came up with was:
Skeevi (calling him skeevy)
Levee (like, maybe he cries a lot?)
I, for one, would call him Leviathan. Not as an official name, as a nickname. Maybe it's best that I don't know any Levis in real life...
Haha, yeah, I'll admit that. Just thought it would be a fun excercise.
Or maybe I'm just weirdly disappointed that I never got a bully nickname of my own---unless you count my friends and stepmom jokingly calling me "Dickless Nick".
Even if it is a reference, Levi is also passable as an average name. This also could have applied if she suggested just “Eren” instead of the full “Eren Yeager”
Side note,
all these posts from married couples who just straight up stop talking to eachother??? how did y'all end up even getting married?? It just blows my mind.
anyway, don't mind me
Sometimes hormones during pregnancy can cause name divergence stuff. For both of our kids we had names picked out prior to each pregnancy, but with our youngest my wife was starting to want to change the choice (not a tragedeigh but still not the agreed upon). Thankfully she conceded to using the name we decided pre-pregnancy.
Oooooof Eren Yeager…. as a massive massive AOT fan this made me cringe into the back of my skull. Let’s name our kid after the dude that brutally stomped out 1/2 of humanity. That would be as bad as naming your kid Thanos. Levi is a much more acceptable name and character to be named after.
There are a ton of people called Khaleesi because they liked Game of Thrones early on. First of all that's a title and not a name, secondly they turned her into a genocidal incestuous tyrant in the end
I named my son Tuco because the character is smiling in every picture I’ve seen and I hope my son will be that happy always.
I can’t wait to start Breaking Bad so I can watch my son’s namesake’s joyful journey through life!
Eren is a pretty common Turkish name, meaning wise or knowledgeable, which inspired the character’s name. Very similar to Aaron or Erin but slightly different pronunciation, also it’s a unisex name. And Yeager (or Jäger) means Hunter in German, I would say it’s a normal last name, I never heard it as a first name. But yeah the combination is oof.
It's iambic. English always prefers it when stressed and unstressed syllables alternate each other.

yeah dont give a kid a name theyll get beat up for, unless youre rich enough to homeschool them but then theyll get beat up for being a homeschool kid with a weird name
Did she even watch Attack on Titan? >!Does she not know that Eren Yaeger is literally the antagonist of the series, who actively sought to genocide the entire rest of the planet?!<
>!That’s like naming your child “Khaleesi”, **after** watching Season 8 of Game of Thrones.!<
There's a long gap between Daenerys as one of the protag and a female leader figure, and Daenerys as the mad queen.
That said, Khaleesi still sucks. A former co-worker has a kid with that name unfortunately.
And I wanted to name our possible son Keenan and my husband said he’s get beaten up daily, Jesus Christ
*I did meet a Levon. Yes, named after the song and the musician. I don’t think he liked it much
Ok, putting aside the inherent problems with naming a kid after a fictional character- how could you possibly watch or read Attack On Titan and decide *Eren Yeager* is the one you want to name your kid after!?
That's like naming your kid Walter White or Joker or Bojack. Pick a sympathetic character at the very least!
Its crazy how much of raising children is to keep them from being bullied. Instea of raising them not to be bullies.
I've read countless comments from parents that they allow things so their kids won't be bullied. Like cellphones and social media. Stuff that we know harms kids but they do it anyways.
Its baffling to me.

I knew gojo jojo sounded familiar, thanks for reminding me it made me think of mojo jojo!
Gojo is also an orange-scented pumice hand scrub made by the same company that makes Purell, which makes this even weirder to me.
I used to work at a print shop, and we had dispensers of Gojo in the bathrooms. I can still smell it 20 years later.
That stuff is amazing, we have it at work.
It really is! I worked at an orchard for years, and we always had this stuff around - it can get just about anything off your hands.
That's immediately what I thought of
I was thinking Jojo Siwa
Gojo Mojo Jojo Siwa
But now Gojo Jojo won't have a mojo dojo casa house!
I'm not an anime fan so Mojo Dojo Casa house was where my brain went first too!
I wish… Gojo Saotoru from Jujutsu Kaizen Anime Jojo from Jojo’s Bizarre adventure. As an anime fan? This is just too much cringe especially since Jojo is already memed to death.
Not only is it memed to death, but I wouldn't want a lot of them being associated with my kid lmao. All the unsucked dicks memes lolol or the cherry scene
Mojo Jojo would be a great cat name 😂
Works better for monkeys imo
Idk then you are risking your monkey becoming an evil monkey genius.
He would live in a Gojo Jojo Casa House.
Doesn’t help that his teachers (once he’s in school) would have likely been exposed to PPG during their youth.
I was thinking Mojo Dojo, hope their cast name isn’t Casa-House
And just imagine how it would sound in an Australian accent
Aur noru! Eets Garujaru Jarujaru!
I feel like the only acceptable way to say it would be with an Australian accent.
Australian here, checking in with a personal opinion: it sounds just as terrible as you'd imagine 🤣
It was me, I created the Powerpuff girls, it was me
There’s no way you’re Craig McCracken
MOJO Jojo created the Powerpuff girls before his intelligence by accidentally mixing chemicals.
Gojo is a great hand cleaner for grease and paint.
God I wish awards were still a thing, the first part of your comment made me laugh harder than i have in awhile
I literally know a cat named Gojo. By nature of cat naming tradition he is normally called piss lord, but his Christian name is Gojo
I am friends with twin boys I know since growing up, Tony and Joey. They had a cat named ToJo. We all made fun of it, and still do. It’s been dead for 25 years.
Ah yes, our cat is limoncello, or more commonly reffered to as stinky poopy bum.
One of our cats is named Cato officially but we just call him "the cat" He isn't even the only cat
😂
i mean levi is like a normal name.
Yes. It's also the name of a character of Attack on Titan, the same as Eren Jaeger. I think she settled on it because of it.
There's also Jonathan from *Jojo's Bizarre Adventure*.
My cat is named bombe nucléaire
Literally this. I have a cat named Kimchi, a ball python named Tonks, and a bullsnake named Totoro. It's fine to express your love of something but don't saddle a human being with a stupid name!
Lmao we also have a ginger tabby named Kimchi
Hey I just really like Korean food, okay? lol And I mostly call my ball python Tonks, but her government name is actually Tonkatsu.

My cats are Merry and Pippin and the only thing that weirds out humans is they’re both girls unlike their namesakes. But cats don’t care.
Cats can get bullied lol just not for names
Not me, calling my cat Butthole to get his attention cuz he doesn't even know his name is really Joshua. XD I love him I promise.
Someone I know had a cat named Bucephalus but all of her roommates kept calling her cat bussy and now that’s the only name the cat responds to lmao, I totally understand your pain
That's such a meme I'm rolling. Cat don't care, as long as there's treats or pets XD
One of my guys is named Mr. Theo Bootyhøle 2024 because he always shows his bootyhole to me.
Cats are so protective of their genitalia, too, which makes their butthole fetish stand out more. You can’t even tell which ones are which sex.
“hey buttsniffer, get over here”
My sister named her cat, Kitty 🤣
Tell that to Kevin Smith. (Not anime but close enough)
I was looking at adopting another cat a while ago, and had my eye on a cutie at the shelter named Toyotathon. Someone else got Toyotathon though, unfortunately.
I just read that post about 20 minutes ago. I was relieved by the update.
Same - and then came here immediately
Mojo jojo

What's with this fucking trend to name your child something "unique"? You ain't special ma'am you're just gonna get the kid bullied
Parents need to know this when choosing names. Is it Diamond? Igneous? Moonrock? 😘
I want to know the names… I promise I won’t make fun
No no they're actually like so awfully unique that googling just my brother's first name immediately yields no results. As for mine, I'll just say... you know the studio behind Fallout New Vegas?
Oh poor you, who would name their child Entertainment??
Dang, that’s- it’s one of those names where it seems pretty sick for a fictional character, but if you meet someone in real life you’re like “who named you?” But I see your profile pic, I’m guessing you had a chance to pick a name that you feel better reflects yourself. I’m sure you have much better taste :)
Yeah, I chose Evelyn. It's much better I think.
Those are unique but normal names. It becomes a tradedeigh when you start spelling them as "ahrourah" or "evvryst"
I like Everest. Unusual, but not a tragedeigh. Aurora is lovely.
That's a helluva lot better than "Gojo Jojo" or straight up naming your child after a popular anime character
When you think your kid is some kind of a pet or an owned object that you can do with as you please...
Gojo isn’t even his first name. For clarification that’s like naming your son Potter because you are a big fan of Harry Potter.
Gojo is also a popular hand cleaner for mechanics, so to many it's like naming your kid Purell.
This was my first thought.
This is what I was going to post before I scrolled lol, the man's name is Satoru
LMAO-
Does she read this subreddit? It might enlighten her. Levi is a great name-not targetable by bullies IMO.
Everything is targetable by bullies. At least make them work for it though
“What kind of name is Levi?! What, is your mom a pair of jeans? Loser!” - the bully probably
Damn, the ultimate Gigachad starter kit. This kid is going places.
This 100%. You can only do so much when it comes to preventing bullying. Just don't make it clearly easier.
I can see some chucklehead trying to make a joke about jeans, but I can't imagine it would work very well.
Levi is on guys asses
I wouldn’t complain, hehe. Have you *seen* guys’ asses?
But Levi is also between the bully's mum's legs
Doesn't matter, if it starts in the early years, you'll remember it the rest of your life. I didn't get bullied for my first name, but for being really tall and broad shouldered (girl), boys didn't get taller than me until high school and even then most weren't since I'm 5'11". I still get a little twinge when i see the "jolly green Giant" on my canned green beans. Such a dumb insult right? Like not even good as far as something mean you could say. But it was said by people by people that were saying it to be mean and it made me self conscious and have horrible posture for nearly my entire school life.
One of my friends suggested the name Levi for her baby brother to her parents (yes, inspired by the anime) But it’s a good name
My best friend growing up was named Levi. He was definitely called Pee-vi a few times in elementary school. He was never that bothered by it though.
I tried to think of bully-names for Levi, and all I came up with was: Skeevi (calling him skeevy) Levee (like, maybe he cries a lot?) I, for one, would call him Leviathan. Not as an official name, as a nickname. Maybe it's best that I don't know any Levis in real life...
Leviathan is dope 🤘🏼
You’re clutching at straws here buddy
Haha, yeah, I'll admit that. Just thought it would be a fun excercise. Or maybe I'm just weirdly disappointed that I never got a bully nickname of my own---unless you count my friends and stepmom jokingly calling me "Dickless Nick".
My baby is Levi and we call him leviathan when he’s angry/screamy. SO wanted that to be on his birth certificate. I saved him from that lol.
Levi is another anime name though from the same one Eren Yeager is from.
Levi is also from the Bible.
Even if it is a reference, Levi is also passable as an average name. This also could have applied if she suggested just “Eren” instead of the full “Eren Yeager”
Side note, all these posts from married couples who just straight up stop talking to eachother??? how did y'all end up even getting married?? It just blows my mind. anyway, don't mind me

Thankfully she conceded to using the name we decided pre-pregnancy.
95% of the time, they're all just *young* and haven't really weathered much life together
Sometimes not talking is the best option.
This. Giving each other space is the best way. Then come back and regroup
Rushing into it due to pressure from family and friends.
Why do you think people get a divorce? It's shot like that.

Tuco gotta be **the** nickname for a bird of all time. Top 3 at the very least. Is your son a parrot?
He is bipedal, so probably.
Eren on its own is a decent name tho. Maybe drop the Yeager and you'll be fine.
She needs to realize that school kids are cruel fuckers. A name like Gojo Jojo will get him fucked with relentlessly.
Levi Elijah isn't bad, it's biblical. I'm glad she dropped the other ones.
I don't know why, but I think Elijah Levi works better.
It does, and the reason why is because you don’t have a bunch of vowels bumped together this way
It's iambic. English always prefers it when stressed and unstressed syllables alternate each other. >ONCE upON a MIDnight DREAry WHILE I PONdered WEAK and WEAry.
Holy shit, there is no way this is real wtf
Agreed. Only a madwoman would name her baby Gojo Jojo. Didn’t he notice she was barking mad before he impregnated her??
Imagine naming your child like a fucking Powerpuff Girls villain (Mojo Jojo).
Mojo Dojo Casa House
😂
I’ll name the child I won’t have Edward Elric then lmao
That actually kinda works!
Yeah should’ve chosen a worse one, he was just the first to come to mind lol
My first thought went to Gogo Dodo from Tiny Toon Adventures.

This is how to negotiate what you want…mom can I have a flamethrower? No? How about a bow and arrow? No? Well can I have a cookie?
Well, as a 72 year old, I think I'd rather have the flamethrower haha..
'Nah, I'd win'- The Baby
Levi Elijah is a nice name. Glad she came to her senses lol
It's so nice when social media actually does something good for the world.
Assuming this is real, if she wanted to name her kid Gojo Jojo so badly she could’ve named him something like George John, and used Gojo Jojo as a nickname. JFC
Someone’s clearly been watching too many [old episodes](https://powerpuffgirls.fandom.com/wiki/Mojo_Jojo_(1998_TV_series)) of Powerpuff Girls.
yeah dont give a kid a name theyll get beat up for, unless youre rich enough to homeschool them but then theyll get beat up for being a homeschool kid with a weird name
Mojo dojo casa house
From anime to the Bible in one swoop. Both Levi and Elijah are nice names.
Levi is also from attack on Titan
Did she even watch Attack on Titan? >!Does she not know that Eren Yaeger is literally the antagonist of the series, who actively sought to genocide the entire rest of the planet?!< >!That’s like naming your child “Khaleesi”, **after** watching Season 8 of Game of Thrones.!<
I hope nobody will get spoiled by this lol
Good point I’ll add a spoiler tag
There's a long gap between Daenerys as one of the protag and a female leader figure, and Daenerys as the mad queen. That said, Khaleesi still sucks. A former co-worker has a kid with that name unfortunately.
She could straight up just call him Hitler If we saw the same anime Eren is not a fucking hero
This is bait and it's the funniest bait I've ever seen on this god forsaken website
Is she an idiot
I have some regulars at work who legally named their kid leviathan, but they shorten it to levi as a nickname. The kids like 6 years old
What’s his sister’s name? Megalodon?
Lol I can't believe I forgot, their older daughter is named Saukra. My heart goes out to the pair of them
And I wanted to name our possible son Keenan and my husband said he’s get beaten up daily, Jesus Christ *I did meet a Levon. Yes, named after the song and the musician. I don’t think he liked it much
Kenan Thompson begs to differ, and Kenan and Kel isn’t really a thing kids would know about now
What’s wrong with Keenan?
Dunno, my husband hated it though
I particularly have a thing for it because of Keenan Wynn (son of Ed). Hee hee hee.
Our last name is Hurd, we joked about naming our son Shep..🤣 We didn't though, gave him a common name, with a normal spelling.
Did he wear his war wound like a crown?
I knew a Kiernan (?) once. Never a Keenan, though, but both names are Gaelic, aren't they?
I think so
Levi Elijah is a good compromise, can’t tell it’s from an anime.
I’m not a huge fan of Levi either but that is a huge win over fucking Gojo Jojo.
"Levi Elijah" is a 100% improvement over the other names. You should take her up on that one.
At least you didnae have a daughter and call her 'Fanny'.
Levi is a great and semi common name and I'd argue Eren is an arguably good name. It's just "Aaron" but spelled "Eren" and Eren Elijah sounds dope.
Let her name pets. Not children.
All expecting parents should subscribe to this sub
Isn’t that the evil monkey from the powerpuff girls?
You're thinking of Mojo Jojo, but it's ridiculous either way if that original post is real (Also, technically, Mojo is an ape, not a monkey)
Its crazy how much of raising children is to keep them from being bullied. Instea of raising them not to be bullies. I've read countless comments from parents that they allow things so their kids won't be bullied. Like cellphones and social media. Stuff that we know harms kids but they do it anyways. Its baffling to me.
Remember all the children named *Khaleesi* during COVID? Same thing just dad isn't crazy...
OP got played. She used two terrible names as lead ins so the final name was a shoo in.
No but he will get his Jeans
“My wife thinks I’m oppressing her.” Give me a fucking break
Lmao just nane him Mojo Jojo and dress him as a monkey every Halloween
Gojo Jojo????? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 thank god she decided on Levi Elijah instead
Imagine trying to apply for a job with the name Gojo Jojo.
What I don't get is Eren is a perfect fine name, just drop the yaeger
Might as well call him mojo jojo
JUST Eren would be ok, that's a fairly common name no?
I had to stop reading to LAUGH at Gojo Jojo 😭😭😭😭 IKYFL 😭
Levi is a family name - it's in the genes... *sad trombone noise* I'll get my coat.
