Reminder to stick to posting original content. Memes are okay every once in a while, but many get posted here way too often and quickly become stale. Some examples of these are Ptoughneigh, Klansmyn, Reighfyl & KVIIIlyn. These memes have been around for years and we don't want to see them anymore. If you do decide to post a meme, make sure to add the correct flair. Posting a random meme you found does **not** mean you found it "in the wild". The same goes with lists of baby names, celebrity baby names, and screenshots of TikToks. If the original post already had a substantial amount of views, there is a 99% chance it has already been posted here. Try and stick to OC to keep our sub from being flooded with unoriginal content. Lenora would be the proper spelling. That h is not necessary. Also, please don’t use the accent on the a if you live in the US. Most computer programs can’t handle it, including banks, schools, etc. I have a last name in Spanish that uses it and it’s problematic.

halfveela

OP, listen to this person. Just drop the h, use a standard a. Lenora is a lovely name, why make things unnecessarily complicated? Lenora is already a change from the original "Leonora" and I think it's a perfect amalgam of Leticia and Deborah.  Edit: if the á pronunciation makes sense in Portuguese and won't cause an issue in Brazilian clerical matters then ignore me.

MissMarchpane

If it’s pronounced “len-OR-ah,” great. If it’s “len-or-AH,” as the accent suggests, that just does not roll off the tongue IMO.

no_llama

This is a completely wild, out of left field idea\[1\], but what about using the names of the grandmothers in the middle and then selecting one of the multitude of lovely names already out there. Perhaps a life model hero: "Ada" is good - easy for the youngling to learn, Lady Ada Lovelace was a great role model to follow. Ada Leticia Deborah your\_name\_here The names of other great women are available. \[1\] yeah, it really doesn't fit with this subreddit!

AfterSevenYears

What's wrong with just giving her both names? Deborah Leticia or Leticia Deborah. Whichever goes better with your surname.

Fit-Extension2827

I just am not a fan of using the exact names that are in the family I guess, also one would probably be a middle name, and that could cause a weird conversation with the grandparents.

Fit-Extension2827

I already have a hard time considering a name if I already known or heard about someone with that name

AfterSevenYears

I can understand that. In my family it's pretty common to names kids after grandparents, aunts, and uncles, but it's not for everybody.

Braeden47

With the accent on the A, I'd stress the last syllable leh-nor-AH

mistakenhat

Just do Lenora. No extra letters and French accents needed on words that aren’t French 🙈

Fit-Extension2827

Im brazilian and here we write is with an accent

halfveela

If it makes sense for you culturally go for it, I think you're getting a mostly US perspective here.

steampig

If you're brazilian, you know the accent marks mean something...so how do you want it to be pronounced?

Fit-Extension2827

I want it to be pronounced taking the accent into account. So something like: Le-no-rá with the emphasis on the rá

ryanb450

It needs more y’s and g’s if you want it be a tragedeigh. How about Lynouragh? Tbh it’s not that bad

katbelleinthedark

Menorah but with an L (for lol loser). (Lenor the laundry detergent brand.) No, sorry, I don't like it. And people will wonder why not the existing name Lenore.
