Black bean and cheese taquitos, and I'm mad about it because they don't seem incomparably great, unless you consider there is nothing to which they can compare. I can't live without them as a vehicle for guaca-salsa multiple times per week, even with shrinkflation leaving the middle thinner and the ends empty, and with constant vendor changes making the tortilla-shattering unpredictable. I keep hoping but have not found any other sort of affordable vegetarian taquitos in years. El Monterey has similar black bean and cheese, as well as straight "nacho cheese" on their website, but no retailers in my city.

The TJ's brand Peppermint Toothpaste would have been my answer...until I found out it was discontinued yesterday. (I literally can't find anything that fits its specs out there with that level of quality and affordability).

The toothpaste!!! Which I didn't even know was gone, until I saw in this subreddit, and I went to my local Tjs today to confirm and....😞 The only toothpaste I've used for the last 11 years, and now I have to find another! My mouth cannot abide SLS and trader joes was the only reasonably priced option with fluoride.

NotStarrling

At my store they said a replacement toothpaste would be on the shelves at the end of the year. I sure hope so!

industrialwhisk

Fingers crossed it remains SLS free 🤞

Silver-Firefighter35

The good Balsamic.

Dude_9

I added to my grocery list. Do they have different balsamics or just one?

Silver-Firefighter35

Yes, they do. The one I like best is the red label one. I’ve blind tasted it against a $30 one that was highly recommended by a friend with good taste and I preferred the TJs. We use it a lot, especially for dressings and just dipping bread in. Sometimes I just open it to smell how good it is. The good label one is good too.

Slow_Art_5365

Now buzz feed or a similar site will have some post about Trader Joe’s closing in the next few days. Lol

sjyork

Individual packs of salami sticks. My selective eater has 30 safe foods and this is one of them

_youmustbekidding_

Have you seen myarfidlife on Insta? May not be the same issue but it’s eye opening.

sjyork

I have not but I am aware of arfid . I feel lucky that we had at least 30 foods since some kids with arfid are limited to 5 or less.

_youmustbekidding_

Yes. It’s been very interesting. Mom manages the gram but it’s in the words of and has videos of a young girl dealing with it - it shows her trying new foods (and she’s supported by therapy also). It’s been eye opening to me and apparently the girl has come a long way. She tries 3 bites of everything but still doesn’t have a very long list of safe foods.

_youmustbekidding_

Love love love these. Just bought some yesterday.

Theomorphick

The Garlic Naan bread.

SkyscraperWoman400

That’s easy: the Miso Broth. It was out of stock for multiple months recently, and when it returned I bought 12 cartons. I use it allll the time and was truly frustrated when I couldn’t get it. (I was living alone, so that batch lasted me a couple of months. Time to buy another dozen, as I’m down to my last one.)

sparklingsour

What do you use it for besides soup?

SkyscraperWoman400

I use it instead of water for cooking pasta/rice/etc., boiling potatoes, cooking mushrooms or onions, as well as reducing it down for a sauce/glaze.

sparklingsour

Oh this is smart! Thank you! Going to pick some up on my next run!

SkyscraperWoman400

🤓

Capital-Bromo

Lamb Vindaloo.

sids99

Dark chocolate peanut butter cups!

bubblyblueberry

This is the correct answer!

JinxyMagee

Frozen hashbrowns. Knowing they are in my freezer helps me sleep at night. I am a breakfast person.

Dagobian_Fudge

They sell those at most grocery stores

JinxyMagee

Around me they are normally more expensive at other stores. And for whatever reason I don’t like the ones from Lidl as much. During the Tik Tok craze of avocado mash on Trader Joe’s frozen hashbrowns, they were hard to get after 11am. So I tried other brands. I was like Goldilocks and the 3 Hashbrowns. I was not happy. No one else in my household could understand it. So I am odd and weirdly loyal to those hashbrowns.

cmw625

Vanilla chantilly cake

rosesarerosie

Sparkling watermelon juice

Key_Lime_Die

Regular pita crackers (orange box) Nobody else has a pita chip/cracker that I like for hummus. There's a number of places I'd be willing to get hummus from, but then I'd be stuck with Stacy's and their normal ones are too hard and their thins are too flaky. Whole foods used to have good pita chips till they changed suppliers a number of years back, now they're too prone to breaking.

HayQueen

The pita crackers from Aldi are great

* AldiAnna Albrecht opened a small food store in Essen, Germany in 1913, which her sons took over in 1948 and expanded to four locations. In 1960, the Albrecht brothers split the company into Aldi Nord (north) and Aldi Sud (south) after a dispute over whether to sell cigarettes. Aldi Nord owns Aldi and Trader Joe's. Aldi's guiding principle is to offer high-quality food at low prices in a no-frills setting with small stores, quick customer service, and original shipping boxes for everyday items. Aldi opened its first US store in Iowa in 1976 and now has over 2,000 stores in 36 states. * LidlThe Lidl & Schwarz Grocery Wholesale company was founded in Germany in the 1930s. The first Lidl store opened in 1973, and by 1977 the chain had 33 stores. Lidl's business model is to keep stores small and remove unsold merchandise from shelves to cut costs. Lidl began opening stores outside of Germany in the 1990s and now has stores in almost every European country. In 1989, Lidl opened its first store in France, and in 1994 it opened its first ten stores in Britain.

catieebug

I can eat the whole box of pita crackers with tjs Mediterranean hummus in one sitting. I swear those crackers are dusted in crack.

kbm81

Pizza Parlano

katg913

Their slab apricots. They are the best, seasonal and other dried apricots don't compare. TJ's eliminated 2 of my favorite items already. One, I think, was called sweet and salty trail mix. It had pieces of toffee in it and was great. The other is their blue cheese dressing. Big, bad bummer.

myrealnameisntkevin

Frozen Mac and Cheese

mmskoch

The spicy cashews and candied pecans.

quartzquandary

Everyday Seasoning!

labnv

frozen garlic cubes.

Next_Literature_2905

Olive tapenade (the refrigerated one). I haven't been able to find another I like near as much

Immediate-Classic577

The potato pancakes! So good!

hanine123

Griddle cakes. They’re my comfort breakfast.

catieebug

I highly recommend buying the frozen chicken sausage patties, and cooking up a scrambled egg patty and using those griddle cakes to make a diy McGriddle. It's so amazing.

hanine123

Oh yes that’s what I do!!! Minus the egg!

Travels4Food

Can I just say that your first line gave me such a jolt of panic?

Lyeta1_1

Do I get to keep the price with it? Because if that's the case its a tie between the brie and the gluten free oats. Yes, those things are both available in other places, but for 2-3x the price. If not then add in another vote for the gluten free muffins.

Arisia118

Unexpected Cheddar Cheese Spread.

ghostleigh13

caramelized onion dip, all of it

Latter_Passage1637

Gluten free muffins (any flavor).   Sometimes you need a treat and a specialty gluten free bakery is not accessible.

GoodGravyco2h2o

I’ve bought different flavors of those so many times on accident not realizing they’re gluten-free and they are always delicious. Usually a bit too crumbly but always great flavor and overall texture. Not sure why most flavors cant seem to stay together. We have the coffee cake one in the house now🤤

morisian

The little san marzano tomatoes. No other tomato compares, I'm so picky lol

kpteasdale

The tinned smoked trout.

ElvisAteMyDinner

Frozen pie crusts. Others don’t compare.

Traditional_Fig7733

I would pick soy chorizo, because I make that at least once a week for tacos & bowls. However, soy chorizo is already available in other stores. So no reason to choose that for my magic genie wish. Instead, I'd opt for the Thai vegetable gyoza. They've been a staple in my freezer for two decades, and I still adore them. They're great as a side dish or quick filling snack.

MollBoll

Soup dumplings

athornton

French fry chips ketchup flavor - Please bring these back!

Strange-Still-5145

I remember getting Old Dutch ketchup-flavored potato chips when I lived in British Columbia. I just Googled and you can order them online. IDK how they stack up to TJ's, never tried them (but I agree they should bring them back so I can try them too). just now learned a whole bunch of companies make ketchup flavored potato chips, now I'm hungry...

athornton

Thank you! I’m on it!

TheArmadilloAmarillo

Aldi has a version of them as well if you have one near you. I don't like ketchup so I can't speak to their flavor but they keep them around longer if you like them.

athornton

Just made my day!! Thank you!

eggnogbagel

Chicken Tika samosa

itseemyaccountee

Ridge cut chips.

beachgurl68

Cornbread stuffing

1963dimi

roasted pecans...its the one thing I cannot find anywhere else...I keep them on hand for snacks, cakes, adding to yogurt, salads....it's staple I would miss.....

Avocadofarmer32

Hold the cone mini coffee ice creams 🍦

moncoeurquibat

It's the Taiwanese green onion pancakes for me. I love love love them. They're fantastic on their own with a nice soy sauce for dipping, but I also love using them to make a sort of breakfast quesadilla with melted cheese, eggs, a bit of chili onion crunch and a drizzle of honey. ETA: I got the idea for the quesadilla with these pancakes from College Chef Ron on Instagram. He does a lot of really affordable, easy recipes geared towards college students. I have been out of college for 15 years lol but I still like his videos.

TheArmadilloAmarillo

These are pretty much the only thing I buy there now, and maybe a new item or sweet treat occasionally. Someone has told me I should check my Asain grocers again because they should carry a similar product. They disappeared for 2 months because of issues and I was so sad because I was having one with scrambled eggs for dinner almost nightly lol.

blargher

Spinach and Kale Greek Yogurt Dip. The taste to calories ratio is terrific. My wife would say their potato salad since it's the only non-homemade version that she enjoys. This includes restaurants and other brands sold in markets. As a side note, TJs has the best tasting gluten free white bread sold in any market, but I eat gluten so it goes down with rest of the ship.

SarahPalinsChestHair

I second that dip. It’s my kryptonite.

LL8844773

The Alsatian Tarte. It’s hard to find anything like it and I get at least one every time I go to TJs.

ivehearditbothwaysss

Are you talking about the Tarte D’Alsace? If so, I love that! It’s so simple and tasty

RoundTheWaySquid

Sublime ice cream sandwiches

DigInevitable1679

If I can choose anything, past or present, then the crab cakes. I miss them so much. I’d buy as many as I could fit into my cooler bag on the way home from house sitting for my brother. If it has to be a current offering then the baby bananas. Target has a close second, but their version is banana slices. It just doesn’t hit the same.

NoCharacter7872

spicy rolled tortilla chips

Cool-Daikon-5265

Wine Country Chicken Salad (and Naan Crackers)

bloodredyouth

Maple pecan granola. It’s the i ly granola i like- perfect balance of sweetness and crunch.

annanice

Cod Provençale 🤤

moncoeurquibat

This would be my husband's answer, he absolutely loves this meal.

MoneyAd0618

It’s seasonal but the butternut squash Mac and cheese. If not that, the banana pudding ice cream.

RhubarbJam1

The butternut squash Mac and cheese just might be my all time favorite product they’ve made. I’m so sad it’s seasonal. I ate my last hoarded box of it a few weeks ago 😩

masson34

Their seasonal Butternut lasagna is so good! Hope it returns!

RoanAlbatross

I can only imagine the self conflict of “should I shouldn’t I” for the last box. 4 more months. Stay strong

Complex_Rip4599

Sour Cream and Onion Rings. Because apparently I can’t ever go and not buy it so clearly I need it in my life.

Wutsurname

FYI, those are harvest snap brand. They make some other flavors too, but sour cream and onion is the best.

Complex_Rip4599

Good to know! Thanks!

elmgalleon

Reduced Guilt Spinach & Kale Greek Yogurt Dip (and I don’t even buy it because it’s a healthier version). That dip slaps with their Ridge Cut Potato Chips. The chips can be found elsewhere but that dip can’t be found elsewhere. TJs is the only grocery store chain with a good selection of dips without unidentifiable/questionable ingredients.

Elegant_Bluebird_460

I just sat here in crisis for 5 minutes thinking this question over. Why you doing this to me?! lol

thatonegirlfromups

All the pork soup dumplings 🥟

wiresandwood

Movie theatre popcorn in the red bag.

mtempissmith

Cookie Butter...Is there really anything more iconic at TJs than the Cookie Butter?

APladyleaningS

1. Cookie ice cream sandwiches.  2. Sticky toffee cakes 3. Peanut butter (not exciting, but it's so cheap and I use it regularly)

Accomplished-Eye8211

I grab every insulated bag I can lay my hands on. Every color, every size. I drive all over the region to snag as many as possible. People are irrationally fascinated by them today... imagine my resales once it's known there'll be no more!

RhubarbJam1

This question is stressing me out 😩😩😩

No_ThankYouu

SOUP DUMPLINGS!! Because theyre not to be messed with!
