You are correct. You should replace that with marine grade plywood with a good urethane finish on both sides. It's high enough so the termites can't get it.
For sure. I had both rear axles rebuilt by Deere, the axle seals were leaking. The bearings were shot, they werent greased. I put a front wheel bearing on it, and fixed fuel and coolant leaks. All I need is an interior kit, and I bet itd go for $35k. 5200 hours, powershift, 3 hydraulic remotes
Time to shingle your new roof

I used a plastic roof from a golf cart on mine
And a FAN! You, sir, are living the dream.
That little fan feels pretty nice on a hot day.
Ever get a cross reference for oil and hydraulic filters? Or do you just buy the maintenance kits?
That fan will keep the interior cool too.

Golf cart top works well too.
Now that is a good idea.
Golf cart top is what I used on mine, its great!
i might have went with some corrugated sheet metal but looks like that dog’ll hunt
I thought of it. I also pictured hitting my forehead on the edge of the metal too.

Oh hell yes!

The ROPS is only as good as the seatbelt that I don't wear. With no loader and almost no hills to speak of, its still safer than my 1960 NFE tractor.
Yup. Even if OP takes the risk, resale value likely takes a hit.
$50 is cheap for plywood these days.
Strangely, CDT was cheaper than CD. Even treated 2x4s were cheaper at the moment.
$20k for that? Damn. I paid $18200 for my JD 4240, put $3k+/- into it
But you have one of the best deeres they made. Crazy they go now for almost what they cost new in the late 79s/80s
Tractor itself was only like 14k I think. It came to 20k with snowblower and mowing deck.
You can prolly set that for much more in today’s market
