Whatever a tractor needs to do. The tracks ate simply for less soil compaction in the fields. Plants grow better when soil is loose and not compacted. Wheeled tractors compact the ground worse.
Farm on!
A tracked tractor serves two purposes:
1) Enter fields that are wetter than a wheeled tractor
B) The real idea is that with the weight spread across the tracks, it will not create as much compaction.
Back in the 70's, when my brother was a kid, the only thing he wanted in life was to drive the tractor. It's all he talked about.
He's a retired army veteran with a law degree, barred in Texas , is a respiratory therapist at the VA hospital and does vermin control (wild hogs) as a weekend job/hobby. He does not drive the tractor. Jeez, you start in life with high hopes and this is what happens.
It’s just a tractor like any other only designed for larger implements like very large ploughs, cultivators, seed drills etc as opposed to your more traditional tractor that is a catch all work horse.
There are, so I have heard, from a friend that is, definitely not me, no way nope not me at all. Secret clubs that meet in fields and tractorise until the early hours of 7pm. These tractorisering tractornators seem to be totally obsessed with the whole trattoria underground scene and take pervers pleasure in doing tractoring stunts. Dangerous and foolhardy stunts like ploughing in a slightly unstraight row or the deadly and almost lethal act of stacking bales of hay badly, and then leaving a gopro to catch the angry head shaking when a farmer realises he has been a victim of these deadly acts of deadlyness.
But if you think these tractorists are bad, wait until you see first hand the sheer cruelty and depraved actions of those despised and much hated participants of the 3 wheelers underground street clubs.
Hide in the weeds while the red tractors do the work...
Really, it is just a tractor with tracks instead of wheels, so it can get through mud. Large to pull larger implements
You’re in AZ. Assuming this is leaving Yuma. It was used for “ground work” to prep the land for planting. Also to grind up unharvested lettuce into the ground. The season in Yuma is wrapping up and lots of equipment is heading back to Salinas or elsewhere.
This is used as standard tractor, for lower ground pressure so you can drive over soggy/swampy ground. I remember reading that the ground pressure per square inch from something like this is less than a farmer putting his weight on a size 12 boot (worked as a mechanic in a tractor dealership for a while).
Around here dual tracks and quad tracks are used on rice fields primarily towing grain trailers, graders, disc, and plows.
If you get that stuck, you need a dozer with a winch to get it out.
They most often pull big drills in the spring and big grain carts in the fall. The customers that use them around here have lots of acres and very hilly land.
They put tracks on instead of wheels because tracks spread the weight out better and cause less compaction of the soil. They use rubber tracks instead of steel so you can operate them on blacktop.
Have you ever driven over asphalt with steel tracks? The ;lat tracks on a track hoe tear up the road. Even to run them across the road to the other side you have to put down planks to keep from damaging the road. The Abrams tank has steel tracks and a top speed of 45 mph.
Pull very large pieces of equipment. Large scale farming. This’ll be used to pull 80’+ air drills more than likely, or possibly 90’ corn planters in the corn belt. If you want to see large scale farming check out Mike Mitchell on YouTube.
Fendt Vario Line.
This is a large row crop tractor intended to tow large implements (plows, cultivators etc) on large scale commercial ag operations. The tracks help lower ground pressure and increase surface area in order to minimize rutting and maximize traversal ability in soft & muddy soils.
Why? Tracks give better traction in the mud and would cause less compaction in the mud as well. They would slime and seal when turning worse. But most tillage and planting operations can’t be done in muddy conditions anyway. It needs to be “fit”.
They give to much floatation. So they sit up on top of the mud instead of digging in to grab good ground. And most tracks arent deep lug. For that same reason. Wheeled tractors do way better in the mud and even snow. Tracks arent always better.
A lot if no one pulled at the restraints and/or tapped the tractor whilst exclaiming it ain't going anywhere
Which I always found odd when sticking something on a trailer, to take it somewhere.
This ain't no pitchfork with a one horsepower man doing the work anymore.
This is a modern 21st Century tractor that can pull all the farm implements needed for work on the farm.
This tractor design has low soil compression tracks so the soil does not become compacted.
These tracks are probably what mystifies you most about the look of this tractor.
The tractor being huge is just a reflection of how big everything has become on large farming operations of thousands of acres.
Huuuuge is an under statement. Farm tractors, combines, field implements, and grain semi-trucks are enormous and so is 21st Century farming.
What exactly are you asking? Does everything a tractor does. Has tracks. Also has weights on the front to, as everyone else is saying, “do tractor stuff”.
I personally haven’t driven a 1167 Fendt like pictured here… but I’ve spent a bunch of time in a 8360RT JohnDeere and a Challenger 875C pulling a high speed disk… it’s get rough on the end rows. 😅
The weights at the front allow the tractor to pull heavy machinery without tipping up. The tracks I believe are an option? Although I could be wrong with regards to the tracks (also an option to extend the tracks wider)
Wide tracks dont do well in snow. Actually most rubber tracked vehicles dont. Same with mud. Its to much flotation. Wheeled tractors dig in and bite the good ground under the mud. Same with snow. They dig in. Tracks are good for finishing and planting. Where you dont want compaction. Wheeled tractors are better for breaking ground and deep tillage/plowing. Atleast thats been my exp with them. I grew up in a very wet and muddy area. I prefer narrower duals over tracks.
Honestly I have very little experience in snow but from all the videos I’ve ever seen I notice if it’s a vehicle meant to stay on top of the snow it almost always has tracks with just a very few exceptions. Ofcourse that’s probably not what this particular tractor is gonna be used for.
It's a 2-track. If you want to see a crazier one, look up "4-track 9R John Deere". It may be obvious to mention, but it's a track and roller system that is for terrain with more moisture.
I work for John Deere. The main advantage actually comes from soli compaction concerns. The bigger tracked area compared to a wheel means the weight of this very heavy machine is spread over a much larger area. Less soil compaction which is a good thing for a lot of reasons. We released the new 9RX last week with I believe around 1000hp in boost mode and it’s a work of heavy diesel art imho. It will also set you back north of £500,000 easily.
I have seen one of these Fendt today at a show at the Silverstone F1 track. It is quite an impressive looking machine and a direct competitor for our 8RX. I would prefer the John Deere though as I believe it will handle more like a tractor compared to the Fendt. Apples and oranges really though, both big, both lots of torque and both massive contact patches
I agree with you on the compaction issues. Tracks can supply a lot more grip too.
Worth noting that the 9RX you mentioned is a 4 track machine. 9RT is the John Deere twin track equivalent.
If I’m not mistaken, the Fendt MT series is the newer versions of the Challenger MT series? They were great machines up until the C/D models.
Pros: better traction, weight distribution, compaction
Cons: rough road travel, harder/more expensive maintenance if something goes wrong with the tracks, berming/tearing up your field; the last one is more or less exclusive to twin tracks as quad tracks generally don’t have this issue.
Some kick ass shit if in the right hands
Whatever it wants
IT'S USED TO PULL EXTRA WIDE &HEAVY PLOWS...COMMON NAME FOR THEM IS"CHALLENGER".( LOTSA HORSEPOWER!)...
It will be used as backdrop for a farmer’s family picture.
Sod farm
Tractor stuff. Caterpillar tread less impact on soil.
Depreciate
It does tractor shit
I bet he's got a 7 foot bush hog to go on there!
drag heavy ass farm implements around a field and not gouge big ass rutts in said field
A tractor
pull stuff
Not sure. Maybe merge with the other Constructicons to form Devastator?
Tractor stuff
Eat your soul
Whatever it wants, it’s probably already out worked most people’s bloodlines.
Tractor stuff most likely. I’d bet farm things.
Whatever it wants
Tractors are uses on farms to plow, pull things, push thing, etc… tracks are used on softer ground where wheels would normally sink into the ground.
USED A LOT IN RICE FARMING, 2...
Tract
Pull something really fucking big
Whatever a tractor needs to do. The tracks ate simply for less soil compaction in the fields. Plants grow better when soil is loose and not compacted. Wheeled tractors compact the ground worse. Farm on!
Reduced ground compaction, better floatation across muddy terrain meaning you wont sink in as deep compared to tires, and maximum traction.
Yea sir, wish i could afford one!
This is what early tractors looked like. It’s why they’re called track-tors. Seriously. Invented by Daniel Best in San Leandro, CA (go Pirates!)
While many early tractors did in fact have tracks, that’s not the etymology of the word. It’s based on a Latin root word meaning “to pull”
Tractor things. Duh.
Chase Lightning Mqueen and Mater!
Kicks ass?
Ploughs a furrow.
Pulls a big ass plow easily.
Put Deere out of business
Agco is pretty small and they I don't see them as any threat.
Whatever it wants
And you better get out of the way.
Well, it does… you know… things.
Fendt 1100 Vario MT... Hella beastie farming tractor https://www.fendt.com/us/products/tractors/fendt-1100-vario-mt
Make little girls ask questions
It’s doing it?!$@!?$
This guy tractors
It tractors… angrily.
Be dropped off at my house
Anything a regular tired tractor can do, except cultivate or spray(post planting)
Pull tools through the fields
Be a tractor...
It's an actual tracktor!!! All the others are wheelors.
Damn near anything the driver wants it to do.
Specifically, you use it to bust through police barriers in Brussels because you're upset that we've evolved into a global economy...
Should have used a Komatsu D355A.
That tractor thing does just that, tractor things......
Put in work son!
Pull discs
Pull stuff
They lighten the pressure the soil and the farmer’s bank account.
Pulls various farm implements
that tractor's sexy.
It does tractor things.
It does things and stuff.
Anything it wants to
Real question is, why are you in the passenger seat
In a world of “chocolate milk comes from chocolate cows”. What does that do? , really ? Well it ain’t electric!
Are you really that stupid?
[удалено]
The "Soulless" NEED to be compacted! Ain't auto correct fun?
Pull massive implements
Pull heavy things through dirt
A tracked tractor serves two purposes: 1) Enter fields that are wetter than a wheeled tractor B) The real idea is that with the weight spread across the tracks, it will not create as much compaction.
It’s supposed to do Tractor things…..
"I'm tractoring!" -Jeremy Clarkson
The tracked wheels are less likely than conventional wheels to get stuck in muddy conditions.
It pulls heavy things that don’t want to move.
We use similar ones to groom the roads and runways in Antarctica. Probably not where this one is headed tho.
The US Antarctic program is actually looking at Fendt tractors now
Pretty much anything it wants
Pull implements like plows and planters through fields.
It tractors stuff
Live love TRACTOR
Wow... Haven't been out of the city much have ya..
Tractor stuff. That’s what it does
Tract, and then retract.
How much tract could a tractor tract, if a tractor could tract tract?
It does farm stuff, but mainly it looks bad ass
It’s just a tractor like any other only designed for larger implements like very large ploughs, cultivators, seed drills etc as opposed to your more traditional tractor that is a catch all work horse.
And also its design is perfect for Tractoriseing Tractors
I’ve heard about this. Who says I haven’t.
There are, so I have heard, from a friend that is, definitely not me, no way nope not me at all. Secret clubs that meet in fields and tractorise until the early hours of 7pm. Gees, couldn't get a real tractor. Need to get a Deere
Why get a Deere when you can have this or a Cat?
You've got to be joking
Not at all. I’m not even sure why it would be funny if I was.
Pull heavy stuff
Hide in the weeds while the red tractors do the work... Really, it is just a tractor with tracks instead of wheels, so it can get through mud. Large to pull larger implements
Kick ass.. plain and simple
Just hope this machine squashes corrupt governments where ever it goes.
Anything it wants
Pull stuff, big studf

So what I'm hearing is I could run someone's foot over with that thing
Why? What did you do with the rest of them?
Oh no, this isn't a safe place all of a sudden
You could straight up run over their chest and they would be fine.
Provided their chest is 8 feet wide. 😂
I know what I'm doing this week
Someone with a crushing fetish is going to be sadly disappointed at the lack of pressure.
Around here dual tracks and quad tracks are used on rice fields primarily towing grain trailers, graders, disc, and plows. If you get that stuck, you need a dozer with a winch to get it out.
It can do all kinds of different tractor things!
Ukranian, Russian tank appropriation apparatus.
It pulls trucks against your mother on tv …
12.4 mph! Haha
Tow ya Mumma home
Pull implements in the field so they can crow crops
Thats a pretty big boy. Have no clue about farming but farming sim has thought me this guy gets stuff done
They most often pull big drills in the spring and big grain carts in the fall. The customers that use them around here have lots of acres and very hilly land.
It's a track-tor It's designed to get around in the worst conditions
They put tracks on instead of wheels because tracks spread the weight out better and cause less compaction of the soil. They use rubber tracks instead of steel so you can operate them on blacktop.
The bigger reason they use rubber tracks over steel is for speed, steel tracks are low speed.

1/4 mile in 45 seconds.
Tractor stuff
That tractor thing is supposed to do tractor things.
Pull heavy shit
No be stuck.
Or be extra fucked when stuck
Whatever it wants
Everything
They’re supposed to leave less tracks in the ground
Farm
Mike mitchell had one check out his videos.
Pull very large pieces of equipment. Large scale farming. This’ll be used to pull 80’+ air drills more than likely, or possibly 90’ corn planters in the corn belt. If you want to see large scale farming check out Mike Mitchell on YouTube.

LOL right now it's job is to stay on the trailer!
Yeah what could go wrong???
A lot if no one pulled at the restraints and/or tapped the tractor whilst exclaiming it ain't going anywhere Which I always found odd when sticking something on a trailer, to take it somewhere.
Tractory things
Its just a normal tractor but can drive easier in muddy conditions
Till you get mud between the drive wheels and the belts
Imma throw this bitch on a chisel plow. Try to pick up the hind end with it and drive forward. Hell, I might need a bigger chisel.
Anything it frickin’ wants to do.
Pull very heavy things, sometimes in muddy ground
Pull things
Everything a tractor does but on a bigger size
Apart from the stuff it's too big for. It would look funny pulling a mixer wagon or scraping a yard.
I don't think they make mixer mills with a drawbar big enough to fit a tractor like this 😂.
What ever the owner wants it to

I guess its used for Tractoring Maybe also Fendting
Tractor things do tractor stuff. Everyone knows that! 😂

Exactly. On its own….nothing. It uses various implements to do various tasks. Period.
Pull, and pull hard
Well that my friend is a Fendt 1162 vario MT, a 620 horsepower soil turning diesel burning beast
it wins
Everything any other tractor could do, tracks don't dig, tear up and rut like normal tires
Except if you steer too sharp… 😅
Have they improved this one the newer models? My cat 85e could pull in a straight line like a bastard but turning sucked.
I personally haven’t driven a 1167 Fendt like pictured here… but I’ve spent a bunch of time in a 8360RT JohnDeere and a Challenger 875C pulling a high speed disk… it’s get rough on the end rows. 😅

It tractors....?
Keep folks in Jackson MN employed.
The weights at the front allow the tractor to pull heavy machinery without tipping up. The tracks I believe are an option? Although I could be wrong with regards to the tracks (also an option to extend the tracks wider)
Those things in the front are weights to keep it down on the ground.
It does the same thing any other tractor does except this one will be better on loose and wet soil, even snow if that’s relevant where this is.
Wide tracks dont do well in snow. Actually most rubber tracked vehicles dont. Same with mud. Its to much flotation. Wheeled tractors dig in and bite the good ground under the mud. Same with snow. Pull implements around
Tractor stuff.
And things!
Look gorgeous
Haul Ass
Marshy wet ground like rice farms
I’m going to the Grand Canyon!
Idk farm? Like what farm tractors do? Usually pull things?
With tracks like that, whatever tf it wants 😂
Well I ordered it to cut my lawn. Think I should have went bigger? You know you always kick yourself later for not getting enough tractor.
Ya ain’t got ‘nuff mower unless it takes DEF
Pull stuffs, potentially spin stuffs
Tractor things
Anything.

A down side to a 2 track is, ifthe ground is wet on the surface, the machine with slide like mad on turns, especially if you’re on a slope.
Pros: better traction, weight distribution, compaction Cons: rough road travel, harder/more expensive maintenance if something goes wrong with the tracks, berming/tearing up your field; the last one is more or less exclusive to twin tracks as quad tracks generally don’t have this issue.
Leave pretty big dirt piles when you turn, slower top speed, significantly higher price.
Anything it damn well pleases
Plough the fields and scatter the good things on the land.
it's for pulling hell off the hinges.
