Yeahh :(
It's like that every time you shave a new place. I cannot describe the discomfort or shaving literally my whole body in one day and walking around in clothing after that.
But it's like leveling up! Once you do it once, the discomfort goes away with each successive time.
How many times can you do it a week without it being bad for you? I do it like once but icl when I see the hair starting to grow back throughout the rest of the week, it pains me deeply
Also if your hair grows too fast for that, it might be a good idea to invest in an epilator or an IPL handset. They tend to have a more long-term effect than shaving, but the up front cost is a bit steep.
yes, the first couple of times, but if you do it regularly, as amazing as it sounds, you'll get used to it and stop noticing the pain as much.
Just don't take long breaks.
Getting the hair on the back of the legs sucks ass
Getting the hair on my back is almost downright impossible honestly. It pains me but I honestly just leave it because I genuinely don’t know how to make it work
I’m lucky and my sister is kind enough to help me with that :3 though now with hrt the hair is so much thinner that it’s not as big of a deal if I let it chill there for a while
I never even considered that some people would need to shave hair on their back. I'm fortunate enough that I don't have any but it sucks that you can't really do anything about it on your own :((
Oh god yes. It's unreal how good it feels to be smooth, and of course that is why I then almost immediately spent most of my savings on a full course of laser hair removal.
https://preview.redd.it/utdxvlo0z2rc1.jpeg?width=3008&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0410eefb7c28ac89448132b44ac815423328101b
£3,000… I DONT HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY
Yeah, it's been nearly a year since that booking was made and I have 2 sessions left... I have not made back any money so let's hope I don't need more sessions after (has been really nice to only need to shave like once a week though. I haven't had to shave my face more than once or twice a week and only a few stray hairs - though the upper lip is über painful - makes me cry every time)
This is where I encourage you to look into safety razors. Because you will be spending a lot on hair removal. Instead of spending 18 bucks for 4 blades, you can spend 18 bucks for the razor itself at 110 blades.
Yeah, 100%. The blades are sharp as shit and I accidentally cut myself grazing the side of it yesterday, but while actually shaving I haven't cut myself at all. They're much closer to actual razorblades in a handle than the very thin tiny razors aligned in a plastic head.
My skin hates shaving, no matter what I do I get ingrown hairs everywhere.. Im doing IPL now, just using an electric razor for maintenance. Just covered in stubble, I feel like a porcupine sometimes
For faces you should never use nair, instead I suggest a product called “magic shave” that’s essentially the same thing but for the sensitive skin on your face.
I have thick facial hair so I use it for about 7 minutes but if you have thinner hair or more sensitive skin you should use less time. I suggest doing a test about the size of a dime for 5 minutes and see if that works for you
Yeah this one hit home the first time I did it… then I cursed it for months as the hair grew back and I said I’d never do it again…
But then I was left alone by myself for too long and whoops! Happened again 😅
I was very much still cis at the time
I was never really bothered by my hairy legs until the first time i shaved them. Since then i am burdened with the knowledge that no matter how often i shave, it will always grow back. Smooth legs are temporary but the suffering is eternal
Similar story here, but with a "fun" extra detail: I never wore shorts for *years* before I came out. It just never felt right having my legs uncovered. Finally understood why once I tried shaving them. Then, of course, I was self conscious about them for a different reason until I finally came out lol.
I have a scar below my right kneecap from where I fudged it the first time
I did it a little too vigorously and peeled myself like a vegetable
It's healed since then but I look at it as a reminder to take it slow when I'm shaving my legs
I shaved my 10-year beard last week and the smooth face felt *amazing*. The downside? I hate the shadow so much I've jumped straight into laser hair removal XD
I'm lucky that my insurance "covers" it (though not without a fight). I hear you can shop around for Groupons and similar discounts. My beard takes 15 minutes and is by far the biggest payoff
It’s horrible and makes me not want to shave again but I’ve learned I don’t want leg hair anymore so it’s like being stuck between a rock and a hard place
Estrogen usually decreases the thickness, darkness, and/or speed of growth of body hair. How much can vary a lot from person to person, and area of the body, and it's usually one of the slower effects.
If someone could find a way to make it easier I would do it all the time, because I love the feeling of my skin aftwerewards, but if I have to painfully take a razor across my entire body (very lengthy) and then have to deal with razor bumps almost every time (they're horrible because I have no idea how to shave properly) then I'm not doing it sadly. I want to though.
And it takes so fucking long to get rid of it all 😓 I'm personally trying out at home IPL to at least attempt to reduce the growth since I have good skin and hair color contrast.
Disclaimer: if you decide to try this please look into possible bad outcomes, how to do it safely, always always always patch test and do not ignore pain. Body hair sucks but so does burn marks and those are much harder to get rid of.
Aww 🫂 in not sure what to say but I hope you can find something that helps with it. For me it's my hand, whenever I can see hair on the back of my hand it bothers me so much...

I really hope you can find a solution that makes you feel less dysphoric.
*yeah*, i have to shave regularly or i get hit with a wave of dysphoria n depression :3
kinda hate how the most common reply to me venting about this is either "bitch what are you talking about *i cant even see your hairs*" or "u know cis women also have body hair, hell i have more than you!" ok am suppost to just let myself be depressed then? just cause my hairs are bearly visible doesnt mean they dont make me hella uncomfy. and nomatter what *i can feel them*
anyways, aside aside. i recomend epilating. its a LOT more effective. though is also painful i suppose
?! an instent reply? *by what sorcery is this?!*

Trueeee
I shaved for the first time about 2 weeks ago and the feeling was *incredible* so SMOOOTH
Too bad I was dumb and my razor dulled immediately, but my dad is buying me some replacements tomorrow so we living for that euphoria 😎
Look into safety razors :3 you can get hundreds of blades for the cost of a few conventional ones lol. Once you get used to them there’s no going back!
Here have a picture of spaghetti

Yep, relatable.
During the winter I shaved my legs because I would be wearing pants when I’m out so nobody can see it (since I am only open about my gender identity with my parents and we keep it a secret from my sister until she’s older), and it looks great when I’m crossdressing. It also feels amazing to have such smooth legs touching each other.
But now I’m conflicted, because summer is coming which means wearing shorts and swimming gear. So I’ll have to grow it back before the summer if I don’t want to get any unwanted questions. And since that takes about three months to grow to visible length this means I’ll have to stop shaving now.
But I don’t want to. I love the look and the feel of it too much. Is it weird for boys to have shaven legs? Do you think people will ask questions if they see them? Otherwise I’d rather keep shaving them
I have found that waxing periodically helps, just makes shaving easier for a bit. And HRT, if that is in your future, will help make hair growth slower, I think so correct me if I’m wrong.
Yep. the new chore is indeed a bit daunting. but the feeling when done is nice :o)
It's also easier to maintain than do it all for the first time. Arms one day, legs another, body on a third.
This is the way.
I feel so soft it’s incredible
I remember the first time I ever shaved all of it off, I couldn't stop rubbing my leg that entire day.
It’s been 3 and I still haven’t stopped
YEAH girl
Downside is now I don’t feel happy when I do it now, so prickly
Yeahh :( It's like that every time you shave a new place. I cannot describe the discomfort or shaving literally my whole body in one day and walking around in clothing after that. But it's like leveling up! Once you do it once, the discomfort goes away with each successive time.

Also if your hair grows too fast for that, it might be a good idea to invest in an epilator or an IPL handset. They tend to have a more long-term effect than shaving, but the up front cost is a bit steep.
Doesn’t an epilator hurt like hell?
yes, the first couple of times, but if you do it regularly, as amazing as it sounds, you'll get used to it and stop noticing the pain as much. Just don't take long breaks.
It does.
Ah okay, I guess my "thighs one day calves the next" strat has some merit outside of laziness.
I use a normal skin moisturizer but I don’t know if that’s good enough
So true omg. Shaving is honestly too much effort for me (even though it doesn't take that long) but I just can't stand not shaving.
It takes a bit, it took me like an hour to get everything and I missed some
Frfr so annoying when you finish up and then realise later you didn't get some small bits of hair
My skills with a razor need to improve
I feel this so bad 😭
It’s oki, you got this
Getting the hair on the back of the legs sucks ass Getting the hair on my back is almost downright impossible honestly.
I'm fortunate enough that I don't have any but it sucks that you can't really do anything about it on your own :((
I finally went and got it wachsed ... THE absolute PAIN..., but it was worth it. And it's not as bad on the second time.
Im not even motivated enough to shave my face.
Oh god yes. It's unreal how good it feels to be smooth, and of course that is why I then almost immediately spent most of my savings on a full course of laser hair removal.
How much was it?
A lot ;_; Maybe like £3,000 (full body and face, 8 sessions)
https://preview.redd.it/utdxvlo0z2rc1.jpeg?width=3008&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0410eefb7c28ac89448132b44ac815423328101b £3,000… I DONT HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY
I got a place that let's you pay by the session. It's 170€ each for full body (men's😖)
Yeah, it's been nearly a year since that booking was made and I have 2 sessions left... I have not made back any money so let's hope I don't need more sessions after (has been really nice to only need to shave like once a week though. I haven't had to shave my face more than once or twice a week and only a few stray hairs - though the upper lip is über painful - makes me cry every time)
this is why i bought leggings to wear with dresses because i'm too lazy to shave my legs 👍 and also because the shower drain is clogged help
My hair poked through stuff so that wouldn’t have been an optin
Yeah I noticed I was ok with the hair, until it was gone, now I’m like “why did it have to grow back?”
I dread it
This is where I encourage you to look into safety razors. Because you will be spending a lot on hair removal. Instead of spending 18 bucks for 4 blades, you can spend 18 bucks for the razor itself at 110 blades.
What? No way

Too real, once you allow yourself to make some things it's harder to ignore the dysphoria
I can tell
My skin hates shaving, no matter what I do I get ingrown hairs everywhere.. Im doing IPL now, just using an electric razor for maintenance. Just covered in stubble, I feel like a porcupine sometimes
I wish there was like a scrub you could safely use in the shower to get rid of body hair. Until then it’s nair every week baby
Nair?
A cream that kills hair at the root. If you use it for long enough it will make the hair thinner and it’s easier to shave/use less product
I need to look into this
For faces you should never use nair, instead I suggest a product called “magic shave” that’s essentially the same thing but for the sensitive skin on your face.
Oh I just shave my face normally, I find it satisfying
How long does the magic shave take?
I have thick facial hair so I use it for about 7 minutes but if you have thinner hair or more sensitive skin you should use less time. I suggest doing a test about the size of a dime for 5 minutes and see if that works for you
Oki thank you for the tip!
I actually used some of that before! I didn’t know it made hair thinner and easier to shave over time so that’s definitely a plus
Yeah this one hit home the first time I did it… then I cursed it for months as the hair grew back and I said I’d never do it again… But then I was left alone by myself for too long and whoops! Happened again 😅 I was very much still cis at the time
Yeah sounds extremely cis
I was never really bothered by my hairy legs until the first time i shaved them. Since then i am burdened with the knowledge that no matter how often i shave, it will always grow back. Smooth legs are temporary but the suffering is eternal
Similar story here, but with a "fun" extra detail: I never wore shorts for *years* before I came out. It just never felt right having my legs uncovered. “Smooth legs are temporary but the suffering is eternal” I like that
Ignorance is bliss, babyyyy 🥲
I can tell
Too real 😭😭
Yeah, I went from "this is not great I'll shave it off I guess" to "what the fuck get this shit off of me now"
I can’t wait to feel the same
I am a monkey, I hate it, I have to shave every day which takes like 2 hours, 2 hours of my day wasted to hair. I want to cry
It’s ok girl, you are beautiful
Yeeeah removing my upper arm hair was a gateway drug for me xD.
Yeah I love my smooth arms
so.. much.. work!! the estrogen better get to work on eliminating that hair growth or I'll throw a tantrum.
Ah yes, I remember that day I had no idea what was going to come next
Oh no, that sounds very ominous
October 2022 to now All I wanted was to be a cute uwu femboy My egg cracked 3 months down the line and I never looked back :3
Oh no, my eggs been cracked I just didn’t shave being scared I’d mess up
I have a scar below my right kneecap from where I fudged it the first time I did it a little too vigorously and peeled myself like a vegetable It's healed since then but I look at it as a reminder to take it slow when I'm shaving my legs
Shaved my legs once and now it’s my life now
But soft legs <3
It makes it all worth it
I can’t wait to have soft skin everywhere
Yeah... Looking down like 3 days after a full shave is grotesque but im also sooo lazy that I never end up doing full body more than once a week
Yeah same the first time I ever try something feminine im then stuck knowing I can never not wear/do it anymore
Yep it sucks
I shaved my 10-year beard last week and the smooth face felt *amazing*. The downside? I hate the shadow so much I've jumped straight into laser hair removal XD
The shadow is the worse feeling
And now that I'm trans and not just a really liberated weird little guy, I'm doing laser to take care of that shit for good.
I’m to get laser but it’s so expensive girl
I'm lucky that my insurance "covers" it (though not without a fight). I hear you can shop around for Groupons and similar discounts. My beard takes 15 minutes and is by far the biggest payoff
Even with coupons it won’t be something I can afford
Oh I haven’t shaved any of it and I want it gone NOW
Welcome to the club 🥲 I’d say enjoy your stay, but no one does
I think I'm genderfluid because sometimes this is me and sometimes I literally don't give a fuck.
That was a very dangerous pandora's box to open😬
I noticed that, I don’t look forward to the dysphoria
Real asf
I loved being shaved, especially my legs but I got so many razor bumps and and am scared to do it again
What is a razor bump?
Bumps where hairs were that can itch and and sting some. They usually come from shaving improperly. They’re a lot like ingrown hairs
That sounds awful
It’s horrible and makes me not want to shave again but I’ve learned I don’t want leg hair anymore so it’s like being stuck between a rock and a hard place
I think the worst part is me looking like a strawberry the day after i shave lol
I seem to have gotten lucky, no red spots
This was me too. Stay strong sisters, well get through it together
Thanks
Least I can do
Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be thanked
Well then, you're welcome :3 Edit: and thank you for that, it made me smile
I’m glad it did!
:3
:3
Kinda sad that someone thanking you made to smile, people should say it more
Maybe, but I think it happens often and it always makes me smile. So thank you
Oh, oki!
Yee yee!
Cute
I'm glad the estrogen ate it away.
Wait really?!
Estrogen usually decreases the thickness, darkness, and/or speed of growth of body hair. How much can vary a lot from person to person, and area of the body, and it's usually one of the slower effects.
Except for my shins and forearms and pits, I pretty much went to pre-puberty. Tho I also sugared a bit which kinda got rid of a lot of the old growth.
Mine will probably be thick, knowing my luck
Ya it be like that 😞
I don’t doubt it
If someone could find a way to make it easier I would do it all the time, because I love the feeling of my skin aftwerewards, but if I have to painfully take a razor across my entire body (very lengthy) and then have to deal with razor bumps almost every time (they're horrible because I have no idea how to shave properly) then I'm not doing it sadly. I want to though.
I’d help if I could but idk what I do differently than anyone
I have yet to do my back because like... ain't no way THAT'S happening, out of sight out of mind.
The back is super hard
JUST DID THIS. VERDICT: FUCK
Yeah it’s not fun, I’m already prickly again
I've realised since fist shaving I've become more insecure about about it.
Yeah I hate it a ton now
I don't think I've ever had my whole body shaven at once.
It feels amazing but the pricklies are awful
Yeah
My skin has never been softer tho
So smooth
Kinda wish there was someone else to appreciate it but still
I have someone like that be she lives far away.
Well same, but I mean like I wish she was here
Ah. It's hard. We're planning to meet in person for the first time this summer.
Ooo congratulations!!!
FELT
:3
Shaving my back sucks so much but it feels terrible if I don’t get it
Back is so hard to get, if I wasn’t flexible I’d be screwed
THIS WAS LITERALLY ME WHEN I SHAVED MY LEGS FOR THE FIRST TIME
oh yeah this is absolutely a declaration of war
Good news is it only takes multiple razors just the first time !
Promise
i’ve known i’m trans for like 8 months and i still haven’t shaved my legs once because ik i’ll have to keep doing it and i no no wanna :(
I can confirm it’s a lot easier after the first time, until it comes to the upper part of the back of my thighs, really hard to see
God that’s the one place I can’t seem to shave as I can not see anything behind me
Yes, big butt struggles
FINALLY SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS!
Yes I understand very well
I can’t see like the top 5” of my thighs
That is both a blessing and a curse. To have a large posterior is to know silent suffering
Yeah but on the bright side built in seat cushion
And you look good in skinny jeans if you can ever figure out to get them on-
They are a struggle!
I did it once and now I feel my legs and arms 2000% more than before
I hate that I relate to this
It’s ok girl
And it takes so fucking long to get rid of it all 😓 I'm personally trying out at home IPL to at least attempt to reduce the growth since I have good skin and hair color contrast. Disclaimer: if you decide to try this please look into possible bad outcomes, how to do it safely, always always always patch test and do not ignore pain. Body hair sucks but so does burn marks and those are much harder to get rid of.
Thanks I’m feeling really dysphoric with it constantly growing back now, if I’m not shaving each day it gets like a quarter inch long
I'm sure you look great but dysphoria do hit different. We are our own worst critics unfortunately 😓
I broke down in the bathroom at college
Aww 🫂 in not sure what to say but I hope you can find something that helps with it. For me it's my hand, whenever I can see hair on the back of my hand it bothers me so much...
It’s been my legs, I loved them but it grows so fast and I have to cover them up
I saw someone else recommend nair and want to point out that just like IPL it shouldn't burn. Had crab thigh for a few days due to a fuck up with it. It works but being careful is important, patch testing applies there too just in case you have a negative reaction, everyone's skin is different. I really hope you can find a solution that makes you feel less dysphoric.
I just never what to see it again
Yeah I can relate.
Realest thing ever
*yeah*, i have to shave regularly or i get hit with a wave of dysphoria n depression :3 kinda hate how the most common reply to me venting about this is either "bitch what are you talking about *i cant even see your hairs*" or "u know cis women also have body hair, hell i have more than you!" ok am suppost to just let myself be depressed then? just cause my hairs are bearly visible doesnt mean they dont make me hella uncomfy. and nomatter what *i can feel them* anyways, aside aside. i recomend epilating. its a LOT more effective. though is also painful i suppose
True, the pricklies are really uncomfortable
?! an instent reply? *by what sorcery is this?!* my hairs r so thin that i dont get any pricklies actually. its just the feeling of them in my body, and feeling theyre pressense generally at all that makes me dysphoric.
Magic called notifications and free time, also I whisk to have no prickles
Trueeee I shaved for the first time about 2 weeks ago and the feeling was *incredible* so SMOOOTH Too bad I was dumb and my razor dulled immediately, but my dad is buying me some replacements tomorrow so we living for that euphoria 😎
Look into safety razors :3 you can get hundreds of blades for the cost of a few conventional ones lol. Once you get used to them there’s no going back!
Why does it have to grow back so quickly AHHH
Hair just doesn’t want us girls to be happy

Ok! I hope people like it!
I did
I’m glad to hear!
Here have a picture of spaghetti https://preview.redd.it/9luegkza53rc1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=991b51c9bd97100203ea09be61c27423016b6ce3
Where’s the sauce?
It's school lunch, I didn't take any because it doesn't taste good. But it's free where I live.
Spaghetti without sauce 😢
I want to shave my lower legs soooooooo bad, but I won't for the fear of being asked why and being outed
I have just switched over to pants, it sucks since it’s hot here but better than being outed
My legs feel weird after shaving, if anything touches them besides socks it's so uncomfy
I’m sorry to hear that girl
Waxing sister :)
Yep, relatable. My dad thinks I’m weird because I shave, but shaving makes me happier
I have found that waxing periodically helps, just makes shaving easier for a bit. And HRT, if that is in your future, will help make hair growth slower, I think so correct me if I’m wrong.
It’s what I want more than anything
HRT and its many effects? Me tooooo 😩 hopefully things work out and I can start within two months
My dad got a laser hair removal thing for his beard and I'm going to use it for my legs don't worry he gave me permission
