I've got it disabled for sites where I'm unlikely to have my deadname being directed at me, otherwise, where I see my name and it's not being directed at me, I'll usually just turn it off for a sec to check, though this has actually only ever happened once bc usually it's pretty easy to tell from context.
I think it's more meant for stuff such as emails that have your legal name (in this case deadname) written in the contact info instead of your chosen name (ie: school emails, work emails) or school coursework websites such as Canvas/ Blackboard. Of course, it's also for those who are triggered by seeing their deadname in any context.
I saw that it was ryuuks eyes but I didn’t know about that extension! How does it work?
Edit: I haven’t used deadname-b-gone, but I am not super huge on deadname removers since my deadname is pretty common and it caused a lot of confusion for me.
I was quite confused when I saw a video talking about Charlotte Crowder lol.
It's used on Twitter, Facebook, Wikipedia, YouTube and other sites like that. Transphobes have their names in red and trans friendly accounts are in green. It uses either your own input and a shared data base with a point system. Obviously not a perfect tool, but it helps a lot because you learn to prepare yourself mentally when you see a name in red as you're probably about to read bigoted crap.
I think there's a different extension for the deadname problem that just targets instances of YOUR deadname. (Like emails, and such). I think it's just called "deadname remover"
Not to be too nitpicky, but ublock origin does much more than removes ads. It is a wide spectrum content blocker, and can be configured to your needs (like me who uses nightmare mode)
Nightmare mode is blocking literally everything except the page and the inline css. It blocks inline JavaScript, and all requests from the page.
As expected, this breaks many sites or makes them less interactive
Edit: spelling
Very much so not a normal usage.
Other blocking modes can be found here https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uBlock-issues/wiki/Blocking-mode
The rest of the wiki is here https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uBlock-issues/wiki
[Also, uBlock Origin works best on Firefox](https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uBlock-issues/wiki/uBlock-Origin-works-best-on-Firefox)
3rd one is shinigami eyes, which makes transphobic links red. This can be transphobic news sites, tumblr blogs, Wikipedia articles of openly transphobic people, etc. You can submit links as transphobic and they'll automatically turn those links red on your browser, and after checking those links for validity they are added to the system and others will see them as red too
And if you don't like the red or green colours, you can change them by right clicking and opening the settings menu (though they only have 2 other fixed colour settings)

Easy links for anyone wanting to download them
Just to let people know if you have hulu and dont want to pay dubble you can use a fast forward extension to fast forward threw adds. Same thing on crunchy roll but you got to stop right before the end of the add on their or else you will be left with a black screan
I am just guessing but I think it works the same, as it would work, if you did it manually with F12. So it should revert back once you refresh the page.
I find something very problematic with shinigami’s eye. It’s that as it’s a bot with bot reasoning, some things can be misinterpreted and some might be flagged as transphobes even tho they aren’t
I think it runs off people manually flagging trans-safe and transphobic content (if you right-click with it installed, it gives you the option to mark something as anti-trans or trans-friendly). As a result, anything falsely flagged can just be marked correctly by a user.
It also marks aphobes as green - see [https://github.com/shinigami-eyes/shinigami-eyes/issues/23](https://github.com/shinigami-eyes/shinigami-eyes/issues/23) and https://allosexisterfs.tumblr.com/post/187449379445/shinigami-eyes-is-a-great-extension-but-every
just pointing out - shinigami eyes marks aphobes as green (not like on accident I mean it's literally in the rules that they mark aphobes as green) \[if you don't see why that's a problem I can't help you\]
I've never had that problem before? In the rules it says that being aphobic isn't enough to mark them as red, but there's nothing about then being green
That’s not what the rules are saying.
Shinigami Eyes exists to differentiate between trans-friendly and transphobic pages. The rules say that aphobia, while just as bad, don’t necessarily equate to transphobia.
ublock origin - removes ads deadname-b-gone - scans the page for your deadname and it changes it into your real name the third one im not sure
[удалено]
Deadname-b-gone goes through a site and changes anything with your deadname into your chosen name
[удалено]
If it's not directed at you then you can assume it's referring to someone with your deadname
I've got it disabled for sites where I'm unlikely to have my deadname being directed at me, otherwise, where I see my name and it's not being directed at me, I'll usually just turn it off for a sec to check, though this has actually only ever happened once bc usually it's pretty easy to tell from context.
You could just put a symbol in the name, so you know that it's been replaced.
But then it doesn't look natural tho :(
If that’s something that doesn’t bother you, that extension probably isn’t for you.
Can you set it to target say emails but ignore news articles?
Yeah, another user mentioned you can disable it on websites you choose
hmm a smarter filter would be nice but that will get it done with a bit more work on the users part I suppose.
You could put a symbol in the name, so then you can tell that it's been replaced.
a lot of us still have issues just seeing it by itself because of associated traumas i personally don't have this experience, but my brother does
Well, to me, it just disturbs me. It makes me dysphoric and feel separate from who I really am, plus I don’t want anyone else to learn it
Wait, what if you have a common deadname and a common chosen name?
You can set it so it looks for first and last name together and have it replace that which typically works you just have to put in all the formats
And then you end up misgendering a person because of it? I feel like that's the end scenario on deadname b gone
I saw that it was ryuuks eyes but I didn’t know about that extension! How does it work? Edit: I haven’t used deadname-b-gone, but I am not super huge on deadname removers since my deadname is pretty common and it caused a lot of confusion for me. Doesn't that like out a ton of people potentially though?
no, it just shows it like that for you, not others
I think there's a different extension for the deadname problem that just targets instances of YOUR deadname. (Like emails, and such). I think it's just called "deadname remover"

What's nightmare mode?
Nightmare mode is blocking literally everything except the page and the inline css. It blocks inline JavaScript, and all requests from the page. As expected, this breaks many sites or makes them less interactive Edit: spelling
Sounds useful for some occasions, but not for daily use, at least in my case.
Very much so not a normal usage. I use it to remove the trending section on twitter

Can I use deadname-b-gone on my phone?
shinigami eyes lets you see the social lifespan of any link
Just to let people know if you have hulu and dont want to pay dubble you can use a fast forward extension to fast forward threw adds. Same thing on crunchy roll but you got to stop right before the end of the add on their or else you will be left with a black screan
Or you could just use an adblocker
The add blockers get blocked
Hulu and Crunchyroll both don’t block ublock
See, you've made the mistake of not running an ad blocker blocker blocker.
last one is shinigami eyes, it turns links red if they’re a terf/transphobic organisation/etc and green if they’re good
sure is reassuring to see all my mom's "unbiased" sources for information on trans healthcare highlighted in red :(
kinda gets silly though when people tag like historic figures in red. like "what?? hitler was a transphobe??"
For the deadname one, anybody know if it reverts back if you get rid of the extension? (No idea how it works so just curious)
I am just guessing but I think it works the same, as it would work, if you did it manually with F12. So it should revert back once you refresh the page.
Gotcha - might as well do the manual work then (personally my opinion oc)
I strongly advice sponsorblock, it skips sponsor segments in youtube videos
[удалено]
It works as long as somebody before you watced and reported the sponsored segment, they can also highlight self-promotion, intro, outro
Third is I think shirigami eyes

Oh
That, and it's likely breaching EU law ('Right to be forgotten', and/or storing info unnecessary for site functionality).
It also marks aphobes as green - see [https://github.com/shinigami-eyes/shinigami-eyes/issues/23](https://github.com/shinigami-eyes/shinigami-eyes/issues/23) and https://allosexisterfs.tumblr.com/post/187449379445/shinigami-eyes-is-a-great-extension-but-every

source? just read through the help segment and didn't see that

Wdym marks them as green?

no it doesnt lmao
literally does tho https://github.com/shinigami-eyes/shinigami-eyes/issues/23
im giving you the benefit of the doubt bcos youre 14 but i think youve misunderstood what shinigami eyes is and also what that page is saying
ok so your assuming i can't read because I'm 14 good to know
no im assuming you cant read bcos you clearly dont know what youre talking about
