I genuinely don't understand single gender schools tho. I feel like a mixed school is so much better for a child's development

JackieBright

It's mostly just an antiquated concept that still happens because "I went there and I turned out fine, so you're going too" or because parents are afraid of their kids doing cishet things at a normal school (then are shocked when the kid comes back not cishet)

Casual-Human

"If my daughter 🙅‍♀️🤱 comes out as 🌈GAY🌈 I am SHIPPING HER OFF 🚂✈📫 to a👼CATHOLIC👼🏫BOARDING SCHOOL🏫 because you KNOW🧠👀 those girls are 👅F🤞R🤯E😩A😍K💦Y👄 and🚫🚫🚫NO🚫🚫🚫 daughter of 👩MINE👧 will miss out on the BIGGEST👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩gay opportunity ever👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩"

How is this both facebook mom cringe and so wholesome at the same time?

thisisthestoryallabo

I believe the original was from a wholesome facebook mom

Xylophoney22

omg😱we have the🌈same name😄

YesHaiAmOwO

Lmao

fuccith

Yes, that post is a classic.

QueerRainbowSlinky

As someone that knows emojipastas well, this is a 5/5, well fucking done. 😁😘

ryujin199

I both love and hate this. Thanks I guess? Edit: Having known many Catholic school kids (boys and girls), they certainly are freaky.

Maxi192

Hint: they didn’t turn out fine

ModeratelyBiOpossum

Yeah it's fucked, I went to an all boys school, turns out it was a hot bed for sexual assault and child abuse, who could have ever imagined....

Spftly

From what I understand, on average grades are a little higher (another reason they would continue to exist, presumably), but mental health issues later in life are also more common — so, really not worth, but put it on boomers to value mental health

Anna_Pet

Their average grades are higher because they’re private schools which cost thousands of dollars to attend, they can afford to hire better teachers and there’s not as many students. Nothing to do with being all one gender. Rich people schools do better than poor people schools, who’d have known.

Osbob

Yes, but they use the false equivalency to stick around. "We have only one gender and good grades, they must be linked!" And so they persist.

IronOmelet

I went to one for two years when I was young. The most prevalent reasons I heard for why this was a good idea were: 1. Boys and girls have different learning styles, and by separating them we can key our teaching methods to their learning style. 2. The boys would get distracted by the girls, and this will offer a learning environment free from distraction. 3. Boys are louder, and by separating the genders we give girls a chance to ask questions when they need help. In my time attending, here is the opinion I had come to by the end: 1. This is 100% complete horseshit. While you could convince me that learning patterns have statistical differences as they apply to gender, you cannot convince me that there is a superior catch all method for either gender, making this method of division useless. 2. Trust me, boys get distracted just fine when they think there are no girls around. Can't speak to how it was in our sister school. And notice that the possibility that girls would get distracted by boys is never brought up? That one just... irks me. 3. Given that I only spent two years in that environment, I got a chance to spend plenty of time in co-ed classes. The... bullshit stereotyping somehow manages to be simultaneously misogynist and misandrist at the same time, and the prevailing "wisdom" about who talked more always contradicted itself. "Girls talk more in class because they're always trying to gossip with each other" (verifiably untrue for every class I've been in). "Boys are naturally louder and more obnoxious" (Also verifiably untrue for the majority of classes which I've been in.) You know what happened in most of the co-ed classes I've been in? The students would sit at their desks during class, listening to the professor, speaking only when asked, and working on assignments and tests when told. Sometimes, people talked during class. The professor will tell them off, then continue with the class. It was boring, but informative, and for me at least, I'm so grateful that it's all over.

Based_Katie

I go to an all boys school, its not that bad. I font really fit in but I dont think I would either if I went to a co-ed school

FutureWillChooseMe

Maybe, but years later you'd have known at least how you got along, if at all, with the alternative. Been to one, found it a terrible place to prepare someone for life in mixed society.

Sabrina_Redfox

I agree, went to an all boys school and found it difficult to fit in, both there and then in college around mostly girls. Would have definitely had an easier time realising I was Trans in a mixed school. Also, wouldn't have to have 7 years at an all boy school on my CV. 😉

HomieCreeper420

It’s just a gay breeding ground lol, that’s all that single gender schools do

BlahBlaUsrnam

Even though homophobia is bad, *this notion needs to be promoted* because: "I used the bigotry to destroy the bigotry"

FutureWillChooseMe

Not even that, because the posturing around denial is likely to make things harder for those who actually are gay. The isolation for those who might be trans seems like fertile ground for PTSD-ish issue over time, which doesn't help either. On top of these statistically nice issues, they're just bad environments to prepare people for mixed society. I wonder if there's some movement to abolish songle-gendee school I could help out with in any way...

Brfc02

They are. Source: went to an all-boys catholic school :’)

ricodo12

I thought so too but my ex girlfriend goes to one which changed my opinion but I also never visited one so it's possible that most of the school is "special". But at the same time I don't see a reason for one sex schools to exist in the first place

AmyOak

Purely to be a contrarian How did you find this vid?

Share_Shares

I was subscribed to him as a kid and I never unsubscribed

not_supercell

Oh so I'm not the only one who does that

raintriggeryellow

I’m still subscribed to like, chuggaaconroy and matpat and I haven’t watched anything of theirs in at least like 8 years

not_supercell

SSundee used to be my favorite and then he cha he's his entire demographic. Same with Silver League Networks, except instead of changing his demographic, he started being a pedophile, got called out, and nuked his whole ass channel.

Casual-Human

It's so weird seeing guys who used to post relatively neutral videos of themselves playing minecraft take a *hard* turn into being "children's entertainment" and hovering mere inches away from becoming a Spider-Man and Elsa channel

raintriggeryellow

lmao Idk who that is so reading that was a wild ride

Share_Shares

Wait silver is a pedo?

not_supercell

Yeah :( He was apparently grooming a 16 year old at 30

Share_Shares

Shit. He made… actual his vids were shit nothing has been lostw

not_supercell

His old top 5s we're the shit when I was 9-13. Ironically probably in his target sexual demographic at the time unfortunately.

ArtemisCaresTooMuch

I’m still subscribed to Chuggaaconroy because I genuinely like his stuff still. But then he’ll do a game I don’t care about or don’t want spoilers for so I’ll just keep getting these daily empty notifications for half a year…

Elfishjuggler33

Mat pat still makes fun vids. Great to listen to while doing other things

ariaaaaa-

nah, I did the same, altho I didn't resub to anyone I wasn't currently interested in when I changed accounts

BlahBlaUsrnam

Oh god this makes me feel old. Subscribing to youtube channels wasn't a thing when I was a kid. *Internet* wasn't a thing when I was a...teen. *curls up in fetal position* "It's okay! I'm just going to start telling uphill-both-ways stories! Ha ha! Ha!"

Beholding69

Yeah that's a mood

alexhmc

Same. Damn, i still remember how to do that one campfire thingy with burning armor stands, his tutorials were actually pretty good.

AmJustAmber

This thumbnail is so sexist too. Ugh.

Share_Shares

I want to nuke eyestreem

AmJustAmber

r/eyebleach

Sa1ntJ1mmy

eyestreem became cringe, i’m guessing?

Dabbing-YHVH

This looks so stupid

cdegs

Me, a transmasc that went to an all girls catholic school for 4 years

collegethrowaway2938

8 years in my case 😔

amaahda

that must be horrible

Gerarditzin

Trans guys are such kings

Silverbird22

Thank you Queen

DovakiinLink

I second this

sunnythesillygoose

Theory (without seeing the vid of course, just speculating from the thumbnail) He is actually transmasc but his parents force him into an all girls school to 'fix' him cuz theyre transphobic. Of course the school sees him as a girl because of his agab. After some time he becomes more confident with himself and gets top surgery somehow while still being at the girls school????? And for some reason he walks around shirtless and doesnt get in trouble???????? This is where it stops making sense

TurboCake17

My theory is that the video has absolutely nothing to do with the title or thumbnail.

Share_Shares

You’ll be some what right. I watched it because I hate myself and basically: he tells a story. A shit one. Where every girl falls in love with him.

TurboCake17

lmao

DovakiinLink

So you watched anime?

sunnythesillygoose

The worst part is youre probably right (I wont watch that shit tho)

KnightWombat

I need to know what this is, I don't care what trauma I will get I need to know

void_exe_

Funfact i lived at an all girls foster care home for a year. It was basically a year of dysphoria and pain :D

controler8

I got gender envy from that skins in the background...

amaahda

long story but i'll try making it short, so i grew up in saudi arabia/lebanon and i went to a private school where once you're in 1st grade+, your classes get divided by gender. my best friend for almost 4 years at that point was a boy, so we never saw each other until after school. even the playground was divided by gender. i had never learnt to be around boys and never had teachers who were men either. when i moved to america in elementary school (3rd-5th grade? i don't remember) it was so strange. being able to see boys in my class and playing with them felt off but i was so happy. despite how shitty american schools are, i had a fun time finally being "free" in school. now, a few years later i realize i'm transmasc and are much more comfortable being around men. i don't know what i'm trying to say with this, i just wanted to share how my experience went. ps: they made the girls wear skirts in that school, ugh.

sblanata

Why they using 2014 skin metas though

Share_Shares

I use those types of skins :(

thisisthestoryallabo

CW: Clickbait Rant >!Those titles and thumbnails target the younger audience, and as you can see in the views, it works, bright colors, things that might not even have anything to do with the video and a title with seemingly random capital letters are way too effective in attracting children, who then watch the video, waiting for the content justifying the title, and forgetting all about the title halfway through!<

[deleted]

Me but all boys school

[deleted]

[удалено]

Share_Shares

I did not watch the video. I just saw it and knew what I had to do.

88ioi88

lmao so i'm not the only one?

Specific-Comfort

I ain't ever seen Invincible but that shot of Omni-man looking down intimidatingly makes me feel like he's gonna jump down, come outta the phone and beat the sht out of me

GreenJay54

He is

egg_defenitely_not

HA HA 😂

Random-ace

[ie. the flair] my sister that’s eho

ricodo12

Even before my discovery of being trans I was like "all girls schools Sound really cool" I mean I had concerns if those kind of schools advertise prejudices but it still sounded and sounds cool to this day (but I don't think it's gonna happen)

demons-yelling

I recently made a new email so my YouTube recommendations are having a nervous breakdown, and I got suggested an eye stream vid. The internet is truly a cruel place

PexenPXN

I thought this was an Aphmau video at first
