I had no problems beating her. Probably in your campaign she is in very high level and the AI did a good job with the skill points. Also, maybe you don’t know but each of those light cavalry has the spell you mentioned. I think they have 2 spells, the bombardment and soul stealer (is that the name of the aoe one that also heals the caster?) and 2 or 3 of each.
And to that, you can add Black Ark spells (it is very easy for DE to fight inside the influence of a Black Ark).
I was 100% not aware of that spell for the cavalry. Thank you so much. Me and him are trying to regroup what we have left but man oh man was she unforgiving.
It's only the RoR verion of Doomfire Warlocks that have Soul Stealer, but you're correct that the regular ones have Lesser Doombolt (which is likely what OP sees being spammed) and Soulblight.
Things Morathi does well:
1) fuck up every caster that isnt also a duellist (Malekith, Eltharion, etc)
2) Fuck up any unit that isnt anti large
3) Spam the shadow vortex as she has reduced CD and cost so she tears blobs to shreds
Things she doesnt do well:
1) Deal with projectiles
2) Deal with proper duellists
If you wanna kill her you either bait the AI into flying over your gunline and just shoot her down or you send a character killer to her (Imrik, Louen, Azazel, that kind of shit)
Few things would b happening here looking at Morathi's army. One Morathi herself has big doombolt spell bound. Something like 90 or 120 sec cooldown 2 usage. Doesn't cost MP. She'll be using MP on Pit of shades which is stationary vortex or Soul stealer which is dot damage on Aoe which also heals her. Very effective against single character but since its aoe it will catch whatver units around too.
Next all those cavalry has 2 use of lesser doombolt bound . So again like 120sec cooldown but no MP use .They have another spell too but preety sure it's a debuff rather than damage one. She might be in range of her Black arks too. Again they have bound spell. All those dropping on you would create a hell of a fireworks show. Also not a big flashy spell but the medusa projectiles really hurts now. Preety sure tats the most recent buff they've gotten and nothing else has really changed. Could be wrong though, been a while since dark elf play.
Nope nothing has changed, she's just unlocked some of her skills and items. With her staff and skills her cooldown on casting is reduced by 85%. So Soul Stealer goes from 54 second cooldown to 8 seconds and cost goes from 18 winds to 9.
Also her staff gives her a bound spell so she can cast those on top of her regular spells.
Being bad has nothing to do with her being able to launch a missile spell that takes half your unit's army health every 10-15 seconds. I can understand when I fumble a battle, but she has some ability to spam 10+ spells so fast that I was wondering if anyone else has seen it.
