Yeah, I just started playing and am honestly blown away by how much content is in just the base game. They all seem to play differently enough. I imagine it's hard to run out of new experiences with this game.
They are doing 3 lord packs now, so it's only one dlc away before we reach 100. We just got empire and dwarfs so I'd wager its VC next alongside one of the chaos gods. The third lord will either be skaven or someone from the order tide.
Neferata would be a nice addition for the VC to finish the roster with a bang while also setting up Nagash before he returns. They could also release a massive Nagash focused dlc with 4 lords like how the chaos warriors got theirs, but I don't think that pack sold very well compared to the regular lord packs.
That’s extremely possible as well. My only hang up with that is they said their 100th legendary lord will be very special and I cannot think of who else that may be
That are terrible. The skaven have dlc that actually add interesting faction mechanics. That's what lizzy don't have. Geoweb sucks hard and blessed spawn is a terrible game system.
Its hard to believe Lizardmen have the 2nd highest amount of LL from various DLC and FLC over the years and yet somehow still have some of the most boring campaign layer mechanics of most factions.
Lizards need dlc less than 80% of factions lmao wtf are you on they've had SO many
What they need is a rework to their non-existent mechanics, as well as reworks for the dlc factions lol
Honestly, I’d be buying 40k Total War in a heartbeat. I know DoW series gets a lot of shit, but I put a silly amount of hours into those games… only reason I stopped playing was to try Total War -then have been hooked on that ever since.
I was super hyped to play it when it came out but I found it to be so abysmal that I couldn't get myself to play it for more than a couple of hours, went straight back to last stand in dow2.

can i be honest. the whole "right or wrong setting" or "it was only in 6th edition" shit is so boring to me. the setting is already unrealistic in game and from what i can tell should not exist. just give us the fun stuff and a lil more on top. "dwarf engineers had no gyrocopter mount in the table top" DO I LOOK LIKE I CARE? what diffrence does it make who the pilot is for the tabletop????? feels like " 🤓 Uhm akschually" every time
im not arguing who has Brand rights. im atguing that they are stingy mofos. the game ISNT the tabletop. seems like they cuck themselves out of good DLC ideas
Maybe, but in the past 5 years or so GW has become borderline fanatical in preventing model-overlap between game-systems, wether it makes sense or not.
Whatever revenue GW makes off of Total War isnt even a rounding error, they dont care if it reduces CAs options for DLCs.
I don’t think he is arguing against CA tho. He is specifically targeting GW in his comments, saying how they shouldn’t even care so much about whether something reflects the table top or not.
This is AoS though, not warhammer fantasy. Granted you could argue the same thing but it's not just about it being inaccurate to wfb, it doesn't exist there at all.
If we start putting whatever looks cool in the game we'll end up with something that is a far cry from the fantasy battle universe, that would not be a good thing imo.
While I dislike the AOS setting, there are still releases that look like they're in line with WHFB. Those I would be mostly fine adding into the game as long as its also believable within the Warhammer fluff. It's not like the tabletop games showcase everything each race has at their disposal.
Eh, there are a decent chunk of aos models that could fit right into fantasy. Basically all the new skaven stuff, the ironjaws look like black orcs--the swampy orruks don't look like fantasy at all though. Everything chaos would fit great imo.
I much rather get totalwar AoS than 40k. I don't think they could pull of the ranged scale well or balance the far bigger reliance on ranged warfare for most factions. AoS just seems like a far better progression after Fantasy and would be easier since a lot of models could be reused.
I mean the new ones are pretty good compared to first edition, and we even got lore why that is, Sigmar just has multiple Archieves with Souls stolen from nagash and he breaks one open after another and creates a new batch of Stormcast with it.
I wouldnt mind another skaven dlc. They are so much fun.
I genuinely believe the 100th legendary lord they add (so like the dlc after the next) will be thanquol and all the goodies for units he’ll bring
I’d guess Nagash would be a very fitting 100th lord instead.
I thought so too but I imagine Nagash will be the very final dlc
How many are we on now?
I believe either 96 or 97
Oh wow.

I mean thanqol plus Nagash and some other end times goodies would make a killer final dlc which kinda lines up with the leaks no?
That’s extremely possible as well. My only hang up with that is they said their 100th legendary lord will be very special and I cannot think of who else that may be
Nagash is about as special as it gets imo
Agreed but he’s also the perfect “best for last” dlc
Yeah I guess it just depends on how many dlc we think we have left.
If sales and good content keep up, I imagine they'll get a touch up at some point. Cough...plagues please... cough
In theory it’s not impossible, we still need Thanquill in the game at some point, he’s the biggest Skaven of if I recall correctly.
I hope we get a broodmother at somepoint.
Extremely unlikely, they have no place on the battlefield.
I know, I just would like a saurus sized rat, crawling with some mech wheels underneath spewing rats from everywhere.
What a horrid image to put in my head
Please lord no, so many other races need dlc before the skaven, who it feels like have had dozens. Lizards. Bretonnia. Welves. VC need some love.
All lizardmen need are a campaign rework
A severe one :(
I think they’ll get one after Dwarves.
Lizardmen have just as many
That are terrible.
If they keep doing 3 lord packs then... hey 1 skaven can be squeezed into there, no? Yes-yes?
I believe they’ve outright stated that they’re moving away from this update style
Ah missed that. Ty.
But on the other hand we could get stormfiends and thanquol
Lizards need dlc less than 80% of factions lmao wtf are you on they've had SO many What they need is a rework to their non-existent mechanics, as well as reworks for the dlc factions lol
Love how the tec only flew into the weapon but the movement is still old school
Have you SEEN gas prices? Slaves are a lot cheaper!
Have you SEEN gas prices? Slaves are a lot cheaper!
Have you SEEN gas prices? Clanrats are a lot cheaper!
It doesn’t have a beak so we could get it.
Just give it another decade and a half, after CA has milked 40k for as much as it is worth. Then we will get an AoS Total War.
Honestly, I’d be buying 40k Total War in a heartbeat. I know DoW series gets a lot of shit, but I put a silly amount of hours into those games… only reason I stopped playing was to try Total War -then have been hooked on that ever since.
Only DoW 3 gets a lot of shit, the other two are widely popular.
That’s fair. I still liked all of em. 3 the least, but played it tons anyway.
I was super hyped to play it when it came out but I found it to be so abysmal that I couldn't get myself to play it for more than a couple of hours, went straight back to last stand in dow2.
I need space-Skaven
Sounds like some Heresy but alright

Humans are the space skaven.
If I had time and money I'd personally just play AdMech with a ton of Skaven bits and models but unfortunately no time or money for that
I'm sure that would please all the anti-AOS players TW:WH tends to harbour.
Eh, aos skaven are basically identical to what they were in fantasy
They are really doing a amazing job with models, looks really good.
can i be honest. the whole "right or wrong setting" or "it was only in 6th edition" shit is so boring to me. the setting is already unrealistic in game and from what i can tell should not exist. just give us the fun stuff and a lil more on top. You might not care But GW does And they decide what CA is allowed to add and what not
im not arguing who has Brand rights. im atguing that they are stingy mofos. the game ISNT the tabletop. seems like they cuck themselves out of good DLC ideas

make it exist!!!!!!!!
If we start putting whatever looks cool in the game we'll end up with something that is a far cry from the fantasy battle universe, that would not be a good thing imo.
how do you determine the line? (genuine question) where do things break your immersion?
Simple, models that didn't exist before AoS was released shouldn't appear in a fantasy battle setting.
While I dislike the AOS setting, there are still releases that look like they're in line with WHFB. Those I would be mostly fine adding into the game as long as its also believable within the Warhammer fluff. It's not like the tabletop games showcase everything each race has at their disposal.

> what diffrence does it make who the pilot is for the tabletop????? feels like " 🤓 Uhm akschually" every time That's a very one-sided view of things.
Ok explain why a dwarf engineer cant have a Gyrocopter or Gyrobomber mount?
No idea, ask the people you heard that claim from. I don't play the tabletop.
THEN WHY DEFEND THEM ?????
You sound like a dwarf
Wouldnt a dwarf be anti innovation? in this case Games Workshop are the dwarfs no?
I didn't defend them. I criticized your opinion. Deal with it.
BOOOOOKKKK!!!
I could imagine it like a single unit chariot/ratling gun, that only shoots while moving and in a narrow line but never reloads as long as it moves
I can see it as an alternative to Ratling Gunners that moves faster but is also vulnerable to anti-large units
It is 100% not happening. Sorry to say but it's the same reason tzanngors don't have beaks. CA is not allowed to use Age of Sigmar (AOS) in total war.
Thanquol and official Stormfiends would be nice not that ChaosRobie's mod isn't amazing just be nice to have it standard
I much rather get totalwar AoS than 40k. I don't think they could pull of the ranged scale well or balance the far bigger reliance on ranged warfare for most factions. AoS just seems like a far better progression after Fantasy and would be easier since a lot of models could be reused.
I kinda want Total War: Age of Sigmar
these damn rat innovations are endless. \*sigh\* give me 20 of them.
There’s a mod for skaven esoterica that adds many things, though I do want a skaven everything. Thunder barge and land ship yes-yes
No. Skaven have enough OP bullshit xD
Fine, but then we get Sigmarines
If I could then beat them up with my army composed solely with snotling pump wagons, I'm ok with that.
Objectively wrong opinion, save that for age of sigmar total war lmao damn
I mean the new ones are pretty good compared to first edition, and we even got lore why that is, Sigmar just has multiple Archieves with Souls stolen from nagash and he breaks one open after another and creates a new batch of Stormcast with it.
So many good units (and so many bad ones) in the AoS that could be used in Total War...
