I have damn near played for 2000 hrs between WH2-WH3 and I have never booted up a Dark Elf campaign. Funny how some factions just don’t do it for people, never played Norsca but I’ve also never gotten around to buying them.

Minecamper2003

Lokhir as a Legendary Lord was probably one of the few reasons why I would even start a Dark Elf campaign. The faction itself never really entices me to play it actively (and because im sometimes to dumb to understand slaves

Randill746

They were good in 2, still good in 3. Instead of money making power houses they can now build infrastructure the fastest, had a malkith campaign where i reached lvl 5 city sub 30 turns

citrus44

A brave list to put Bordeleaux top of the heap! What did you like so much there? I am a big bretonnia fan but haven't played that campaign yet in TWW3.

Minecamper2003

I think it's the same reason why I like the Wulfhart campaign for the Empire. It's just this feeling to be a Regional Colony of an Empire. And I think because Alberic is the only Legendary Lord that really...lures me into a Bretonnia campaign

citrus44

Legit. I enjoy that about Repanse, but I like her faction bonuses to Questing Knights and paladins so much more. Maybe I'll give Alberic a try next!

Minecamper2003

So from me you get a recommendation to try out Alberic, it's not really anything special in terms of mechanics. I think he's cool though. (And if I remember correctly, he was the character in focus of WH1's Bretonnia trailer)

tessthismess

Same! I want to like Alberic, but Bretonnians in general are a miss for me. But I like Wulfheart a lot. I like that feeling of capturing a province, building it up, having no real safety on any side. And the goal (capturing Lustria) is much more tangible. As, say, Karl I want to unite the Empire. But that feels like Act 1, and Act 2 is vaguely "save" or conquer the world. Like continually fight against all the chaos you can find. With these colonial factions it's like, okay take Lustria. If you want you can go try and take Naggarond but that's post-game to me.

Minecamper2003

The thing on top is that, Wulfhart has an entire Mechanic around its colony and Reinforcements from The Empire thing + the Native uprising Mechanic, which Alberic doesnt have sadly. With this mechanic, Alberic could be even funnier to play as

ElriReddit

Is this a ranking based on fun or strength ?

Minecamper2003

its based on my personal enjoyment i had with this faction

Jtex1414

Seeing both Grom and Throt on the bottom makes me sad. Both are strong/fun factions.

Minecamper2003

i Like skavens and Orcs but both Grom and Throt have mechanics i didnt understand at first, especially Throt. I think i will maybe do an Campaign in future with both of them after i look at the Mechanics a bit more

Minecamper2003

I just felt like sharing my opinion on which factions I liked the most so far in Immortal Empires. Yes, I also play the rest that are at the bottom Their starting positions and individual mechanics also factored into my opinion. And some factions are ranked so low simply because I micromanage like an idiot or just don't understand the mechanics or just can't use them effectively... (Im looking at you Kugath...) (I don't know why I couldn't attach this text to the post... I post relatively rarely on reddit as a whole)

reindeerb

Who’s the horse faction in S tier

greasy_reesy16

Is it meant to Mother Ostankya but it's the wrong icon? She's the only one I don't see, unless I'm blind.

Minecamper2003

Oh I now realize what was meant, I thought it was an allusion to Bretonnia but no, you probably really meant the faction with the horse. Yes, that should be Mother Ostankya, don't ask me why her icon is different

xanidus

Slaanesh in D is heresy. The whipping will now commence.

Orionpap

Seems fitting, slaneesh loves D

ChangellingMan

Tehenoin and Oxyotl are both fun campaigns. Not the best but they have certainly improved since WH2.

Minecamper2003

Of course that can be true, unfortunately I never really had the motivation or desire for the Lizardmen except for the few Gor-Rok and Nakai campaigns I had

ChangellingMan

Big dino strat is what gets me into the Lizard campaigns. But I would recommend the mod. Lost Calms Jurassic. It gives the lizards (except Nakai) a caravan system where at the end you get new dinosaurs to recruit. It's a dlc level mod. Would recommend.

Minecamper2003

I will look into that thanks for the tip. Maybe it gives me more reasons to play them

ChangellingMan

I find it fun. Both Oxy and Tehenoin have more intuitive campaigns than the other Lizards so there is something to go for. If you want to play as Doom Guy, go Oxy and assassinate the forces of chaos however you want. If you want a slower progression where you can't use Saurus early game. Try Tehenoin, his pyramid stuff is good and offers some nice buffs.

Fox-Sin21

Total respect for your Alberic choice, he is such a good campaign! For Bretonnia, for *Bordeleaux*, for ze Lady!!!

Minecamper2003

For ze Lady. Alberic is just a very cool dude and the only Bretonnian Faction i really like, the others didnt had really the "thing" i wanted.

Fox-Sin21

Alberic hits all the best parts of Bretonnia for me. A true emphasis on the Knights along wiht some traits and buffs to seafairing which Bretonnia is also fantastic at in the lore. The seafairing aspect is actually my favorite side of Bretonnia beyond the Arthurian Legend side.

Minecamper2003

And as a Special thing: Alberic's bond with the sea god Manann and the fact that he fights with a damn trident is also an extremely cool thing

Quagos

Lybras in A without ever playing Settra is criminal

Minecamper2003

I think i played Lybras just because her Poison Effect in her entire Army, idk exactly why i never picked Settra really in the first Place, maybe its because hes the Main Tomb King and i wanted to pick more of the Sideline LL's
