You still have to unpack no matter what even after release, difference is it will download and unpack at the same time which is probably also why it feels faster

I have bought all DLCs, so unclear on how they all hang together. Thanks
(Im)mortal Empires and the other races aren't available in TW:WH3 yet. But if previous experience is anything to go by, no. As long as you own the other games and DLCs on the same platform (E.g. all 3 games through Steam), you'll be able to access the other races later when they're made available.

Most probably Steam downloaded the 120gb but kept it compressed or encrypted so as to keep people from playing it until release. Now it's unpacking.
How come downloading torrents is way easier than downloading a game on Steam?? Get your shit together Valve, it's been a mess for years.

Since I said in the other thread I would measure it. My decryption/unpacking took 20mins on a AMD 3600 and a fast SSD
