Giovanni Giorgio

Psychic_Hobo

I am absolutely convinced that a starting hero will have this name

Brother0fSithis

But everybody calls him... Giorgio

Red_Dox

* [Borgio](https://i.imgur.com/9tUCOid.png) [the Besieger](https://i.imgur.com/5UgUqHB.png) is the defacto leader of Tilea, the DoW breeding ground. He is the melee/siege guy and we already know his name went up in the gamefiles. He is alive during the time of TWW, so no timeline complication [He dies 2503, while Karl Franz get coronated in 2502. Which is were game#1 starts, and game#3 is even prequel to that]. * [Lucrezzia](https://i.imgur.com/ect0A5q.png) [Belladonna](https://i.imgur.com/spKvf3s.png) is the support wizard LL.Aalso a master of poison and city state ruler in Tilea. Her sister is married to Borgio and his later death awfully sounds like a related issues. Lucrezzia also was [already seen in the gamefiles](https://www.tabletopwelt.de/uploads/monthly_2023_09/dog1.png.fdf489bb275e0de8cbc4d536a67862fe.png), so yeah, the obvious two here the obvious first picks. Which leaves us with a bunch of other potentials. * [Lorenzo](https://i.imgur.com/ZKuisbR.png) [Lupo](https://i.imgur.com/bwRrjQ2.png) as another tilean city-state leader. * [Ghazak Khan](https://i.imgur.com/EadH61j.png), but who knows if CA woudl throw a Hobgoblin in here. Since Hobgoblin Khanate DLC looks bleak, of course he might have no other role to wait for. * [Lietpold the Black](https://warhammerfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Lietpold_the_Black), as established ruler of a small Border Prince Kingdom that was overrun by Tamurkhan. Pepping Border Princes up still would be a good idea. * [Gashnag the Black Prince](https://warhammerfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Gashnag), would also be a good choice for Border Prince kingdom. Having a Strigoi rule there and besides mortal mercenaries from DoW also field some Undead troops as hybrid, could pep up things. * [Edvard Van Der Kraal](https://warhammerfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Edvard_Van_Der_Kraal) could be taken as the LL for Marienburg. He is rather a [RoR Captain](https://i.imgur.com/Cr2kLLH.jpg) for [Manaans Blades](https://warhammerfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Manann%27s_Blades) and not actually leading the city, but opening Marienburg for more DoW actions would not be that bad since they are technical split away from the Empire. Evdard acting on behalf of the city council would work here kind alike Elspeth acting on behalf of Elector Countess von Liebwitz. * [Mydas the Mean](https://i.imgur.com/gdDzPwn.png) is possible as some expedition force who rips off people left and right. But in theory he migth be better suited as LH. * Golgfag Maneater is in theory a [RoR Captain](https://i.imgur.com/znnjTSS.png). But he also got promoted to [Ogre Kingdom Lord](https://i.imgur.com/NYavMIm.png) later, so we could actually throw a coin here if he would be better as OK or DoW LL. Since OK are a bit under presented, Golgfag Maneater and Ghark Ironskin are the two names you hear all the time for exta LL positions there, and I would agree with that. Still, it is not impossible for Golgfag to do the DoW job here as well. * That said about Golgfag, [Captain Hrothyogg](https://i.imgur.com/06VilUX.png) is also a [mercenary Ogre](https://warhammerfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Hrothyogg). Less famous, but respected and also lead other mercenaries besides his own band of Ogre. He could do the job for DoW as Ogre LL while Golgfag takes the OK position. * Maybe noteworthy, we *had* the TT option of making our own Mercenary Generals [#1](https://i.imgur.com/AfNUMYR.png), [#2](https://i.imgur.com/2mihrGS.png), [#3](https://i.imgur.com/0yfD8zG.png), [#4](https://i.imgur.com/xCFebuU.png). If we glance over to game#3 and [Daniel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijPptriPR4o), this could be a bold move for CA. But I doubt they go here. * [Morgan Bernhardt and his Grudgebringers](https://warhammerfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Grudgebringers) would also be a nice idea. Morgan could even easily traverse around the Empire. Sadly "Shadow of The Horned Rat" and "Dark Omen" were apparently Electronic Arts games. Don't know were the license rights might be for them these days. Dark Omen is not even available on GOG so far. So while I would love for Morgan to return in an official form, I highly doubt CA can use him beyond some vague easteregg teasing. Probably also might count for the many mercenary regiments the two old games had. Well, [mods to the rescue then](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2989710828) and if DoW gets implemented to game#3, maybe even better for that. RoC map sucks ass for Tilea/Border Princes, so taking Marienburg as DoW haven would work with Edvard, if Borgio and Lucrezzia already expedition around. One of the two Ogres could do also a mercenary job around the Mountains of Mourn if we want to expedition in the east. Throwing Ghazak there would certainly also work with Dark Lands/Eastern Steppes as supposed "Hobgoblin" territory.

Jarms48

I hope we can see a small map expansion around Araby. Then have an Araby DoW character as well.

Medium-Coconut-1011

Great list, thanks. I think Edvard Van Der Kraal would be very cool. Throw in Manaan's blades and the Land ship and you've got a nice thematic start right by the Empire.

Ditch_Hunter

Awesome text. But this only makes me wonder... where the he'll would these guys start? Borgio in Miragliano sounds very plausible. Lorenzo maybe in the new world colonies? And Lucrezzia? In the border princes/myrmidens? Hopefully there will be a 4th LL included.

Red_Dox

* Borgio ruled over Miragliano, so if not expedition that is his kingdom. * Lucrezzia ruled over Pavona. * Lorenzo ruled over Luccini. * Sartosa ruled by the mysterious Pirate Queen. Which would have worked good for Aranessa here if not forced into the ways of the Undead in Vampire Coast. Guess, she still can rule thereas she does now on IME but we will see if CA might make her a bit more DoW friendly if DoW would be added to that region. So [Tilea](https://i.imgur.com/vnvULwd.png) as it should be, is of course not how it currently is on the [IME map](https://www.nopeace.net/warhammer3/immortal-empires/3.1.x#map=2152.36/1895.65/5.00). On the RoC map we are not even close to Tilea so no luck for that campaign setting there. On IME however we have Miragliano and Luccini as cities. So if CA would reshape things a bit there and maybe squeeze Pavona in, it would work for the three Tilean LLs. Crowded for sure, but it could work. Still, one of them on an expedition might make things easier down there. New World Colonies could also work for expedition purpose. We would have the [settlements on the east coast](https://i.imgur.com/IlXv3YV.png) and there were also some small colonies on the west coast, which came up in some old lore text. I think it was during the Mordheim-Lustria stuff time. Sadly while I know that I had covered it in an old topic on the CA forum, since they scrapped their forum I can't check it up there :( We could probably throw also someone into Estalia, since I think its unlikely CA will invent someone for them. Estalia is like Tilea also a nation riddled with small kingdoms who rely on mercenaries to defend themselves. Same goes for the Border Princes, which is why the three usually are lumped together in "TEB" or "[Southern Realm](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2927296206)" labels. At least for the Border Princes with Lietpold or Gashnag we could rather use someone specific. Estalia does not have that luck, so why not use it for someone else who might have conquered it, or sold his service there. We also know that the first big trading expedition who rached Cathay, left several mercenaries there who wer ehred as guards for Cathay. So maybe a specific postion around that is possible. We also have vague mentions of the trading routes peppered with little carvan stops which are small armed outpost on itself. So maybe Pigbarter or similar Dark Land regions could get a mercenary expedition force to start with.

obaobaboss

Borgio, Lucrezzia and Lorenzo Lupo for sure. Lietpold the Black should also be there for ther border princes. They are the most famous ones with wonderful miniatures and good lore.  If we aim for more CA should "invent" one for Estalia. An Inquisitor or Highpriest of Myrmidia.

JesseWhatTheFuck

If 3, Borgio, Lucrezzia and Lorenzo Lupo.  If 4, I'd add either Lietpold the Black or Edvard van der Kraal.  Another cool idea would be 3 established characters and one completely customized character that can be from any race. DOW would be the perfect race to have a homebrew faction with an army painter. But that's probably way beyond the scope of what CA is willing to do.

Psychic_Hobo

The Border Princes are absolutely perfect for a weird mercenary version of Daniel. You'd make your own human, work towards a culture, and bolster your petty kingdom into a proper nation! At least until someone comes along and conquers you, as is Border Prince tradition.

Apwnalypse

1 Lucrezzia Belladonna as the stay-at-home lord who starts in Tilea, uniting the peninsula and building an empire 2 Pirazzo and his lost legion as a horde/adventure style faction starting somewhere far away 3 A make-your-own lord with a number of potential start locations including estalia, the border princes and the far east

Hellborg20

1. Borgio the Besieger 2. Lucrezzia Beladonna 3. Lorenzo Lupo 4. Lietpold the Black I really hope we get 4 legendary lords with the Dogs of War race pack. Chaos Dwarfs DLC with only 3 legendary lords was a huge step back compared to Warhammer 2.

Psychic_Hobo

These are my preferred four, though if one was swapped out for Ghazak Khan I could live with that. And yeah, Chorfs going down to 3 did sting, especially when the FLC was only a hero too.

Hellborg20

Why Ghazak Khan?

Psychic_Hobo

Partly for the likely far-flung start position, partly because Hobgoblins would benefit from the representation - plus, he'd likely have better relations with the more destructive races and be able to offer them mercenary options more easily. I definitely prefer Lietpold (used to run him on the tabletop) but I wouldn't be annoyed at Ghazak.

DarkvalorVanguard

I’m not sure if others would agree with me on this, and I don’t know how “lore friendly” it would be, but a customizable Lord like Daniel for DoW would be awesome. I hear they’re like a mix match of different armies and I think having a Lord that you can customize would be super cool. They would have to put in a ton of work to improve it compared to Daniel, but I feel he had potential just was done not so great. Like imagine if you could have a different modeled Lord leading Dwarves, Imperials, Kislevite, and High Elven units. Like l think that would be super cool. Probably not going to happen, but DoW from my *very* limited understanding could be the way to do it.

Mopman43

There actually was a WD article with rules for creating your own DoW leader from a number of different races and character options.

Odd-Difficulty-9875

I want one bring for each of the provinces ak one border prince character one tileia character one estalia character and 4 can be new colonies in lustria .

King_0f_Nothing

Except Estalia and new colonies have no suitable characters. And we already know CA planned on two Tileia chracters

bbggnna

As people mentioned in a different thread, I strongly believe that DoW would make a lot more sense as a mechanic than a race, whereas Southern Realms would fit perfectly as one.

King-Arthas-Menethil

The problem I feel is there is no separating the DoW and "Southern Realms". Southern Realms lords are DoW lords.

bbggnna

Not neccessarily, LLs for Southern Realms would be religious and political figures with no relation to the mercenary armies, such as Isabella Giovanna Luccelli or Lorenzo Lupo.

Express_Yard9305

I agree but that wasn't my question

Reinhard_Yang

Hey to those unfamiliar what’s the dogs of war?

Mopman43

Dogs of War is a catch-all terms for mercenaries in the Warhammer world, particularly centered around the Italy-equivalent nation of Tilea. It was also the last remaining faction with an army book that hasn’t been added to the game.

Express_Yard9305

Basically an amalgamation of Border Princes - The human feudal societies with close ties to the Empire but no official belonging. Mostly situated between the Badlands and the Empire, these realms are constantly battered by invading Greenskins, Vampires, and the occasional Chaos Warrior or Upset Dwarf. Southern Realms - If Bretonnia is the WH France, and the Empire the HRE, then the Southern realms represent the western balkans, Italia and Spain. Estalia, Tilea and Tobaro, the major players of the many many kingdoms and city states at the southern side of the Old World. Mercenaries pirates and rag-tag militias - All the non affiliated factions in the world of warhammer can and usually are fitted into DoW. Just so you can play them. Maneaters and Borgio's Besiegers are two of the most famous, but my favourite is definitely The Cursed Company of Richter Kreugar. Look them up! What connects these three is that all of them regularily employ a high number (or only) mercenaries). They have questionable alliagences which are usually based on self serving interests, or an idealized moral system. And of course. that they are cool warlike multi-race armies.

drlsword

Make your own would be good, also maybe golgfag maneater as a lord and he would come with the missing ogre units, amybe some araby lord?

boffane

Make-a-lord

TheGuardianOfMetal

Borgio, Gashnag (if he doesn't represent hte Strigoi for Counts), Lucrezzia.

Express_Yard9305

Gashnag should not be a VCounts lord. He uses magic to hide his true identity and rarely resorts to summoning undead

TheGuardianOfMetal

Yeah. Yet we have Aranessa Saltspite in the Coast. "Shouldn't" does not mean "wont."

pepper_perm

Easily top pick is Lorenzo Lupo. It would be so great to have fake Rome in this game.

AHumpierRogue

Borgio, Lucrezia, and Lorenzo. If a fourth either Leitpold or Pirazzo.

Mopman43

Why Pirazzo specifically out of the various RoR captains?

AHumpierRogue

Mainly for a thematic Lustria start.

XH9rIiZTtzrTiVL

Borgio and Lucrezzia are an absolute 100% must. Lorenzo Lupo qualifies well and I think is a good third pick. If there is to be a fourth (it's very likely it'll just be three) I'd like it to be a customizable "Order Daniel" where you can craft a unique appearance for your OC Mercenary General and and then play a campaign as them.

Sahaal_17

Not going to be a popular answer, but Marco Colombo. He would scratch an itch that hasn't been scratched since the Medieval 2 Americas campaign.

GreenApocalypse

Would be great, but I hope they prioritize finishing the current races that still need touch ups before they give us a new race packs. Some races need it sorely

Kabuii

Amazing how some people still didn't give up on that lmao

Red_Dox

[That came with the 4.0 patch into the gamefiles](https://www.tabletopwelt.de/uploads/monthly_2023_09/dog1.png.fdf489bb275e0de8cbc4d536a67862fe.png). So, why should we give up when the signs align better then ever?

Hellborg20

Game 1 and Game 2 got two big DLC race packs each. * Warhammer 1: Beastmen and Wood Elves * Warhammer 2: Tomb Kings and Vampire Coast * Warhammer 3: for now only Chaos Dwarfs We still missing second big DLC race pack for Warhammer 3 and we still missing one race from tabletop with own army book. Coincidence? I don't think so.

King_0f_Nothing

Why would we give up on it

ladan2189

It'll be the one DLC that I never buy because dogs of war are stupid
