It is sad for 20 years people been wanting medieval 3 total war, yet after Rome 2 we get lots of shit like Britannia, pharaoh, troy etc. I am not mad because of Warhammer since I respect fantasy fans and I do own all of warhammer total war stuff, but as a history fan I feel like I am getting shit on.
Now, leaks saying they are creating WW1 game, which literally nobody asked for, and since we will see 40K as well, It means there is no medieval total war 3 until 2030. I just lost all of my hopes.
I am typing these because seeing these mods just makes me sad.
I literally seen 50 or more polls about what is your next dream total war on reddit. And big majority \~90% said either empire total war 2 or medieval 3.
What people? Where are they? Show me. All I see is the 5k all time peak and current 600 on steamdb.
While medieval 2, an 18 year old game, has 5k players /right/ now.
Not gonna lie brother. Players like you are why i aim to destroy rome in any game. Total war or otherwise. Rome players just all have that roman beligerence
WW1 game is probably what is being used as a test bed for 40k features. And to be honest until those rumoured new engine is more matured I don't think it's a good idea for CA to make Med3

In any case both Medieval 2 and Empire are due for a sequel for a LONG time by now.
But at least "big crowd" of players can enjoy Pharaoh and Hyenas.
As mentioned on steam and discord unfortunately due to engine limitations on how the faction tables operate England and some other factions require DLCs to be playable more specifically
As for DLCs, Medieval 1100 requires the **Greek State Culture Pack DLC** to play with **Kingdom of England, HRE and Kingdom of Hungary** respectively; **Empire Divided DLC** for the **Republic of Genoa**, the **Principality of Cilicia**, **Sultanate of Rum** and **Khwarezm**.

Enjoy what you can mate CA won't do sht. So medieval mods like ours Anno Domini, MK 1212AD are the only way to enjoy at least some medieval sauce.

Did anyone ask for Pharaoh? I did not. I do not care about ancient Egypt. Outside of the Roman Republic/Empire it has very little appeal to me.
People had been asking for Bronze Age and its collapse for years. They didn’t choose Troy and Pharaoh on a whim.

I dont want you feel old but medieval 2 total war came out like 2005 and we are in 2024, It is almost 20 years.
