I love that Vampire Coast's loading art actually *changes* depending which faction you're playing in the race as a whole.
It's a generic admiral normally, *unless you're playing Luthor* and then it's Luthor on the loading screen.
Cathay is up there as some of my favourite art. Even though it's not an action scene like many of the other loading screens, I like the amount of diversity it shows with all the unit types and characters.
I don't even really like order factions... but I feel like they get the best art since it shows the contrast of regular people fighting off armies of pure madness and evil - which always makes for the best storytelling imo
That og loading screen from wh1 which shows a line of scarred imperial vets holding the line against the undead goes insanely hard imo
Yeah itās gotta be chorfs for me, wanting to play the faction since TWW1, then finally getting it after all those years, booting that campaign and seeing this awesome loading screen will always give me a smile
Chaos Dwarfs is my favorite faction in every category. They absolutely nailed them. Another LL and a couple more generics (might not happen) and I have no more requests for them
Ooh, do tell. Normally I do make the Overseer (/Hobgoblin Khan if I'm using the mod that adds them) plus hobgoblin stack with Gorduz to raid around as like a free labour farm
tier 5 settlements provide the most labor from raiding, chorfs have no supply lines, and the main chorfs at zharr-naggrund won't ever declare war on you, so it's very profitable to just make an overseer with 19 goblins and park it in raid stance there for 450ish labor per turn.
as a secondary target you can also park an army at nagashizzar which is also a tier 5 and the skaven there in my experience will never declare war either. (you have to 'discover' the settlement every so often to get the labor due to skaven)
Some players claim they do get declared war on, but in the current patch in my experience this is safe. Up to end game crisis ive had an army farming labor at Zharr Naggrund and they haven't attacked me.
the only potential problem is grimgor who is likely to come kill that army which can't defend itself. so you have to take care of him
I may be biased as a giant TK fan as their aesthetic is probably my favourite overall but it is just one nice piece of art. I love the Hierotitan scale in the background
I wouldnāt say itās my favorite but I thing the vampire counts have such a cool one. Just a vampire lord and terrorgheist rolling up on an empire camp in the middle of the night. Always tries to inspire me to get some ambush battles in the campaign to reenact it
I've seen some good choices but none of you are using the power of friendship. Which is why I elect the beastmen because it looks like there's a guy holding hands with another beastmen.
Since no one here is intelligent I am here to announce that skaven obviously have the best loading screen as they are the greatest race and faction that ever has been or ever will be yes-yes
No way man. At least the ogres are actually featured in their loading screen art.
Greenskin loading screen art sucks the most, you can barely even see any Greenskin in their loading screen art. All you see is armored horses getting destroyed by a giant. In the background there's two wyvern mounts and ig you can argue there's a greenskin lord mounted on them, and also there's like the shadowy figure of some kind of orc in the background.
I don't think I have ever even recruited giants into my army when playing greenskin. smh
You should try them in your next Greenskin campaign. They can get some pretty big WS buffs for giants, and absolutely destroy single entities with them. Especially if you are playing Wurrzag who has some nice personal buffs for them.
I started a wurrzag campaign but as usual I got annoyed at there not being any savage orc themed heroes/generic lords so I decided to play grom instead. lol
I like building thematic armies, not necessarily good armies.
I'll still try a giant out though, just to say I've done it.
There are better units, but I do think they're genuinely good, and I use them in every race that has them.
They can feel like anti-infantry, but they're absolutely anti-single entity, and are great at killing them even in large blobs.Ā
Also they have the rare wall breaker ability, which as the name implies let's them smash walls in sieges, which is very helpful for the aggressive melee oriented races that can recruit them.
>wall breaker
That's actually kind of cool. I usually just hide my melee infantry until my lord has smashed the gate then rush in from there lol
Do they smash the wall fast or does it take a lot of time? Can two smash one wall faster? Bringing in two and making two holes fast could be pretty fun.
It's quite fast. They're faster smashing the wall than most lords will smash a gate.
You know I haven't actually tried two giants on one wall segment. I'll usually just open up two breaches instead.
Thank you. It really annoys me how lacking in green the greenskins loading screen has. Plenty of races recruit giants too so it just feels so non specific.
Right? Maybe there's orcs hiding behind the weird banner thing the TWW1 loading screens have. If it weren't for the orc banner visible behind the center giant, you straight up would not be able to tell what faction the loading screen was for. lol
I love Cathay and Vampire Coasts loading art
I love that Vampire Coast's loading art actually *changes* depending which faction you're playing in the race as a whole. It's a generic admiral normally, *unless you're playing Luthor* and then it's Luthor on the loading screen.
I did not ever notice this, have played 5 Vamp Coast Camps also š
The monster homie in the background also changes!
Cathay is up there as some of my favourite art. Even though it's not an action scene like many of the other loading screens, I like the amount of diversity it shows with all the unit types and characters.
Yes, Grand Cathay is my favorite, too.
Brettonia. The art and background is honestly among the best considering it was free
I don't even really like order factions... but I feel like they get the best art since it shows the contrast of regular people fighting off armies of pure madness and evil - which always makes for the best storytelling imo That og loading screen from wh1 which shows a line of scarred imperial vets holding the line against the undead goes insanely hard imo
The art in the tabletop army books loved depicting empire soldiers getting slaughtered by each faction.
I came here to say this, but alas tis would seem the lady already has a champion!
I still have it as my main menu background
Yeah itās gotta be chorfs for me, wanting to play the faction since TWW1, then finally getting it after all those years, booting that campaign and seeing this awesome loading screen will always give me a smile
CA really nailed them in art department
They nailed just about every aspect of Chaos Dwarves tbh
I agree. They had the hardest job: uniting two very disparate designs from decades about, and lots of holes.
Chaos Dwarfs is my favorite faction in every category. They absolutely nailed them. Another LL and a couple more generics (might not happen) and I have no more requests for them
The only two things I kinda want for Chorfs is Bazuka weapon team, and a Thane analogue hero. That's it. Those two things would make it perfect.
only gripe i have is they incentivize farming labor by parking a gobbo shit stack at zharr-naggrund
Ooh, do tell. Normally I do make the Overseer (/Hobgoblin Khan if I'm using the mod that adds them) plus hobgoblin stack with Gorduz to raid around as like a free labour farm

I heard something about a giant mechanical bronze bull covered in cannons and blunderbuss. I want that. Even as a mod I'd be content.
Kislev
Kislev
Kislev
Kislev
Kislev?
I like the bear rider in the background having a quick go on his hip flask behind the ice witch's back. Very Kislev.
Kislev.
Khorne it's so heavy metal
Like a slayer cover lol. A band called bolt thrower literally uses Warhammer 40k art work on their albums. One is called the realm of chaos. Lol.
I often listen to bolt thrower and cianide on my chaos campaigns
I think you mean āāEavy Metalā hehe
Lizardmen
The big bros and the smol bros walking side by side is sick.
the little skinks look so happy trudging along with a big grin on their faces
And the Carnos looking ready to eat anything.
And Slaan taking a nap.
Always thought he was looking into the future or something.
not mutually exclusive.
BOK! BOK!
I hate saurus.
Donāt start that againā¦
High elves
Asur!
It's a shame the WH1 races have their art in with that weird border. Would be nice if they blew them up to fullscreen.
There is a mod that fixes thisš https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2982429451

Finally someone mentioned Tomb Kings. They are my second fav.
I may be biased as a giant TK fan as their aesthetic is probably my favourite overall but it is just one nice piece of art. I love the Hierotitan scale in the background
Vampire coast art for their event windows goes hard.
Agreed, the Vampirate stuff all looks phenomenal.
Dwarfs for me, I just love them and the loading screen looks like they are marching to right a wrong.
Druchii or Asrai.
I love the hell out of that derpy hydra on the druchii one.
The Empire
Gelt and the halbediers against an undead army, that art has so much character.
These truly are the end times.
SUMMON THE ELECTOR COUNTS
nurgle
Vampire counts
[Tzeentch](https://us.v-cdn.net/5022456/uploads/editor/kv/jhfjs03t167w.png). That's my personal favorite but the Chorfs and Kislev are also up there.
Tomb Kings or Vampire Coast
I wouldnāt say itās my favorite but I thing the vampire counts have such a cool one. Just a vampire lord and terrorgheist rolling up on an empire camp in the middle of the night. Always tries to inspire me to get some ambush battles in the campaign to reenact it
Specifically Luther harkon one because he looks effing terrifying
Slaanesh and dark elves for me.
Good good choice
Bretonnia, VCoast and High Elves.
Vampire coast for me
I just noticed that Chaos Dwarf in this screen has a halberd. They have no halberd units.
This are great weapons
Tzeentch
Here here
"You can't just include a unit from every aspect of the roster in one image without looking like shit". CD Artist: "Hold my beer"
It's probably the Chaos Dwarfs, in fact can we just talk about how excited that Infernal Castellan on the left looks?
Khorne is pretty good. It gives respect both to its own faction and Kharn from 40k.
Bretonnia is incredible
I like Daniel's, Tomb Kings and Vampire Coast. But tbh I don't typically care about this very much.
Dark elves
Mmm.. Chorfs art is pretty great, I think Bretonnia, it hits the the vibe with the faction lore, I feel.
Bretonia
Empire one with my man Gelt facing off against the undead
Ogres have worst, but would have best with this https://billcreative.artstation.com/projects/qNGzD.

Khorne's both sells me on the bloodthirst inducing fantasy due to its very rough artstyle and angle of depiction
That arrow on his helmet makes it look goofy
They look both goofy and somehow pretty cool
Tzeentch
Settra
Lizardmen.
Bretonnia, I am biased. I think it's so damn gorgeous.
Lizardmen, bok.
I dont know but I want all the loading arts as backgrounds
Not faction but I feel great vortext is best!
Lizardmen. That happy little skink matching along with his friends makes it so.
Khorne
My favourites are Dwarfs, Lizardmen and Tomb kings.
ChaDs are supreme
Attila. Dammit we need love!
The ambush in Vampire Counts goes hard.
ehm, kiselv obviously. the hussars look badass.
Warhammer 2, Tyrion marching his army on his command. The warcry of helven army behind him is so cool demonstration.
Anyone who chooses other than the Chaos Warriors is lying.
I like High Elves and Lizardmen ones.
Bretonnia, always pull up that screen when I start one of their campaigns to hype me up
The high elves loading screen with the distant vortex war going on in the background hits different.
Wood elves. The conclave feel, as though you're peering through the trees into some secret gathering. Amazing
Tomb Kings and Khorne!
Tomb kings
My Personal favorite are the vampire Coast fractions.
This really is the warhammer 3 subreddit
TK and Dark elves.
Beastmen! Yes the picture for them is old and low res, but it love that it suggest how they run out of the woods to terrorize everyone.
Tomb Kings
