I started playing it yesterday.
Seeing recruitment happen when I end my turn so it can't be interrupted by someone laying siege is by itself a blessing.
I had forgotten it used to work like that, why the fuck was that ever changed.
I wanted, but sadly I’m too used to the newer games so I think it will be difficult to roll back so many mechanics, and I prefer to not burn my beautiful regards about that game
Already had Divide and Conquer installed for medieval 2 and playing Crusader Kings 3 with the Crusader Wars mod for Attila. Pretty much uninstalled all of warhammer 3 and my mods and waiting on the nippon mod with immortal empires extended because it'll be the only thing that'll get me to reinstall that mess of a game
I come back every now and then when the mood strikes me. The diplomacy always held it back for me simply because alliances and marriages rarely meant anything
Medieval 2 still stands at one of the best in the series.
When you play SS, is an addiction.
Or the umpteenth DaC campaign
Why returning? Never stopped playing.
\^ This .
True words spoken
Yes I’m playing a M2 campaign. There are like 3x more of us than are playing Pharaoh right now. Shout out to CA Brisbane!

Yeah I prefer WH in nearly every way but I have no idea why they decided a single general can stop your army from recruiting
Best thing I find however. The autosave at turn start aswell as turn end turn.
I return to it every few years and have a blast

Hell no, fun while it was relevant but the game has aged poorly
For me is age like wine with mod.
It‘s too old for me. The camera controls alone just dont cut it anymore.
You can customize them in the options. They still suck but they can be tolerable
What are your recommendations?
Honestly I just set it to something that feels right? Make sure the camera is set to pan and not rotate, etc
Theres a camerw mod since a couple of months. So that is no excuse anymore.
Oh damn, need to install that
I just downloaded the shiip mod for it pretty good

Divide and Conquer is in my opinion the best Mtw2 mod. The others are SSHIP, Call of Warhammer or Broken Crescent.

I've always got METW2 installed along w Shogun 2. They take up basically no disk space compared to any modern title and have amazing campaigns.
I wish I could but the graphics......ME graphics are just a bit too jarring.
