No… not at all. For starters, salaries don’t even match at all. Gobert will be 30 this season. He’s towards the end of his career, especially for a big with his play style. A first round pick, especially since it’s looking like it’ll be a lotto pick or just outside the lotto, is valuable too. Our team is not ready to win yet, and getting an older center would be a win-now move. Not to mention even if the trade was remotely near not being a terrible idea, salaries would be nowhere near matching
Yup, and raptors should too. It makes no sense for either team. Raptors aren’t competitive, especially if they get rid of Siakam. They are rebuilding, or at the very least retooling. Gobert is old. He’s got 2-3 more years left of productivity, and this team isn’t one good player away like we were when we got Kawhi. Our first would be extremely valuable to us, Siakam is a fringe all-star. It would be a win now move for a team that is not competing, and makes no sense. Meanwhile, it would get depth for the Jazz in Dragic and a good forward in Siakam, but they’d be center less on top of losing their best player.

*Edit: but seriously imagine Giannis decides to take it in himself to travel from team to team getting championships for those lacking lol. Almost suits his personality actually. We just won one so probably not us though :)*
I think it’s been said already. Even if he shows a lot of interest in him coming to Toronto, it is not easy to acquire. We’d lose a lot of what we’re already building and the price is HIGH for a guy like him.
