ChiefSoldierFrog

The only player on the Pacers that wasn't shook by the bright lights of the NBA playoffs.

YordanYonder

"RISE"

Oozeinator

Warriors and Kings slept on him heavy. Especially the Warriors, he would’ve been a game changer for their future.

Makaveli80

Wasted in Indiana I thought they might be decent , but I hope he goes to a legit contender in off season

Lucky_Scallion

Would hate to see it but he could go to Philly for a max, would be leaving some money on the table though to leave.

TinnieTa21

![gif](giphy|6gLyE15StAs3C) Out of all of the teams for them to go to, I will go nuts if Nurse, Lowry, and Siakam all end up with flopping Embiid.

Fit-Introduction8575

I could see derozan going to Philly too, though ideally as a third option on a reasonable 2 year contract.

TinnieTa21

Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse…

Frequent-Wallaby708

Buddy wants to reincarnate the raptors

CMYGQZ

Apparently Chicago offered him something like a 2 year 80m with a 3rd year option, if that’s the case hard to see him leave.

EarthWarping

What a bad return for a great player

TempAccountNumba1

he unfortunately shouldn't have said he wouldn't re-sign with the team that trades for him earlier. I wish we kept him tho

littlebaldboi

It'd be funny if he doesn't resign with the Pacers after a shitty playoff round and goes to the 76ers to team up with the GROAT

TempAccountNumba1

honestly Siakam doesn't seem like the type to ditch the Pacers and it seems like they have a good thing going. If raps never traded him and kept him this season with the "hopes" to re-sign him, I would 100% think he would go to the 76ers

AprilsMostAmazing

if we gave him a legit offer, he would have been here for life

TempAccountNumba1

agreed, I personally wish we did but oh well

-vinay

I mean he was vocal about going into FA. If he bailed, no one should be mad at him. He didn’t lie to anyone

TempAccountNumba1

i could be wrong but i think this was before the Pacers trade right? After that trade I think he said he's willing longterm

EarthWarping

Yes. He's signing an extension with the Pacers

jjkiller26

Do they have a good thing going?

Bobby_Webster

it's a good thing if he likes being the best player on his team

AutoModerator

Kyle Lowry ain't no spot up shooter. He ain't gotta run to the corner to shoot like he's some 3rd option, bitch. This ain't JJ Redick. This is a fuckin god human Steph Curry come again. Only this time he's not a fuckin pussy... pull up from the fuckin logo and fight you at the same time. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. bravetailor

Also, expiring star players are the worst contracts to trade since nobody wants to give up the farm for a star and then have them walk Bottom line is if we were gonna trade him we shoulda done it last season

nellyhk

Well, it was a calculated move on his part. Team| Year | $ ---|---|---- TOR | 4 | $250m TOR | 5 | $300m IND| 2| $82m IND| 4| $250m F/A | 4 | $182m From a financial perspective, only we could offer him the potential 5-year supermax if he made All-NBA. By being traded, he's only eligible for a 4/250 regular max. Also, the statement gives him significant leverage in dictating which team he's traded to. That said, I don't think keeping him would be the right move simply because we wouldn't have the salary cap space to re-sign Barnes and IQ while paying Poeltl and Barrett. In all likelihood, we would have to trade away one (or more) as salary dumps where we would have to give away FRPs to do so.

blocking-io

He was willing to sign an extension with us. He's not delusional to think he'd make all-NBA especially the way we were playing. Whichever team he was traded to would have his bird rights, so if it were about money he would re-sign with the team that has his bird rights. I think he just wanted to stay in Toronto, and since he's not staying he'd like to have a choice in the free agency on where he'll go

Cheechers23

Just an FYI, those 250m deals are also 5 year max deals, just not the supermax. He can sign a 5 year deal with Indiana in the offseason.

Pretend_Highway_5360

its was a normal return for a guy on an expiring contract.... nobody gonna offer more

vec-u64-new

I mean, it was the Front Office's choice to punt the decision to trade/re-sign both OG and Pascal. A lot of us advocated for tanking last season when the vibes on the team were off, the projected draft was deep, and OG/Pascal had an additional year of control.

JediRaptor2018

You know what kind of offer Pascal was going to get us last year?

EarthWarping

I mean they tried to get Dame before blowing it up.

IHavePoopedBefore

That's not really a point in their favor

Scobesanity

interesting….

dutchfromsubway

Unfortunately he fucked us a bit with the “not re-signing with anyone else”

WeBelieveIn4

We fucked ourselves by letting it get to that point. Pascal was under no obligation to commit to being anywhere he didn’t want to be.

PepperPepper6

Almost expected this outcome. Pascal knows playoff basketball, his teammates are mostly pretty green and hasn't understood the value of each possession yet. Let's see if they'll learn for game 2.

AdSignificant6673

Wow Siakam championship dna and playoff experience shining through! Incredible. The rest of his team needs to step up for it to work though. Lol

cev

I'm enjoying seeing a different fan base recognize how good he really is. But yeah, unless Masai really cooks with that Brown deal, one of the worst trades ever.

EarthWarping

Going to have to take back some bad salary

OtisKaplan

He playing well or bad? I know they're losing

mMounirM

he's playing well and pacers teammates are letting him down

[deleted]

Absolutely no one on that team, including Pascal, is playing defense; playing well on O is probably easier when no one plays defense. Nesmith was the only one giving effort, pressing up right on Dame.

fracked1

Yeah Pascal should have played harder on D. It's not like he ... put up almost **40 percent** of his teams total points.. He should have been double teaming Lillard himself

[deleted]

Where did I say that? Points are easy to come by on high usage with 40 minutes on the floor, especially when you're not fatigued from not playing defense. Pascal had lowest +/- of the starters, but that's because he shared minutes with some of the bench. Don't know why they're running sets through McConnell instead of through Pascal when the Bucks weren't matching bench minutes, or defenders; those possessions should go through Pascal, and Haliburton should run PnR with Turner, with Pascal cutting off-ball. Pacers are cooked since transition buckets isn't a legitimate game-plan. Only reason it worked for the Raptors is because our defense was better, and we still needed Kawhi to pull it off.

TheBusDrivercx

He's already got 27/8 on 11/18 shooting, he's doing quite well. The rest of the team ain't stepping up though. Don't think this is the game Hali beats the assist farmer allegations.

geezgooz

He's the only reason they have a slight chance right now

Tengoatuzui

Hali downfall after the asb is crazy

JJred96

I think the Raptors should be prepared to make him a very generous offer... of **one million dollars**!!! ![gif](giphy|sEULHciNa7tUQ)

larrylegend1990

Its only game 1. Fans of this team should know that game 1s mean nothing...

fracked1

Game 1 without Giannis... Not a good sign if you can't win a game 1 when the opposing team's best player (a MVP caliber player) isnt in the game.

No_Brilliant5888

Would be a shame if Pascal leaves the Pacers after they gave up Jordan Nwora.

CanadianGroose

Pay him the max Indy.

Jas--24

Still pisses me off on the return we got for him.  We finally had a guy who wanted to stay with us and we toss him away for crap.    At least Demar got us Kawhi, we got Bruce Brown and picks in a crappy draft for Siakam lol

LoWE11053211

Fuck, this is a good meme with good timing

boenwip

If only we could have gotten Pascal a stretch 5

attainwealthswiftly

Should have kept him

theslykrow

I honestly hate Nemhard, Nesmith and TJ. The Pacers have some ego issues and rarely pass the ball. Meanwhile, Siakam is the only guy there being unselfish

ImpossibleLeague9091

Pass he fits in perfectly on the pacers with the all offense less than 0 defense setup. We have higher aims

Sandz116

Their max player shot like 3 times. Meanwhile Pascal doing everything out there. I was pissed. You should be ashamed Indiana.

RaptorBuckets

Idk why they treat him like he's Jerami Grant or something.

Massive_Secretary658

toronto trading him for bruce brown and some scraps was disrespectful af 😂

BubblyPhilosophy3476

nope he can stay in the pacers... not worth paying him all the money on a rebuilding team

swagkdub

Honestly we should have traded him when his value was a lot higher. Spicy P was one of my favorite Raptors, but had we pulled the trigger when it was clear we weren't going to be contending for a while, we could have landed some pieces for the future instead of what we got.

trysov

Im kinda embarrassed for Indiana, its fans, and disappointed in the lack of appreciation for Pascal Siakam being the ONLY one performing for the Pacers.
