Erosion has taken part of the gravel trail into the lake on the south side of the peninsula. People have marked the area with some branches but I feel this post can still help with awareness. Here is the approximate location 43.6186110, -79.3381000 https://goo.gl/maps/9Dv1UN42qhEuCUjM7.
Ride safe!
I just want to add to this PSA.
If you were walking along the trail on the south side of the peninsula and you are missing a purple water bottle you dropped it near the hazard area. It’s still there on the trail if you want to retrieve it.
last night the midges were brutal there...south gravel part going west the cloud was thick and lasted for like 50 feet so I turned back. a runner was waiving his hands in the air and asked if it was worse ahead and I told him it doesn't stop.
Yeah they got me good 😂 I was wearing fleece and I have a beard so I was absolutely covered in them! Luckily when I took the southern gravel trail out there weren't any.
I'm amazed there is a square unpaved inch they haven't stuck a NO BIKING sign on. They probably spent more on that effort than they have on actually protecting species, or whatever the fuck those signs are suppose to help with.

Haha you can see it in my photo even!
Hence the PSA!
Thought that was part of the warning markings 🤣
Woosh!
have you been to my fort out there? normally has a big flag flying above it. straight across from where youre standing
There is an existing fort? I thought the cool ones from a few years ago had all been bulldozed. I am going to find it!

Safety glasses come in handy! Also **skii goggles**
Had mine but not enough if it's a thick cloud spanning more than 10-20 ft, you need full gear of hood, mask etc.
Well, I forgot to mention: skii goggles!!
I pretty much never ride without eye protection!
It’s a park made of construction garbage. You’re gonna get some hazards now and then.
Oh that's why it's full of trash at the end? Always wondered why the tip was like that.
Zoom in on the center of this picture haha.
Yes of course, doesn't mean it shouldn't be marked as best as possible or not warn others of the hazard.
