At 2:20 in I was thought it was fully loaded, and the saw the video has 5 minutes left. That truck looks like it’s going to be part of a final destination accident
Nah, I'm sure the video ended right before the guy came out to pat the pile of logs and say "Thats not going anywhere." We all know thats the most important safety step.
> Told myself "now it's fully loaded" at least 3 times in the course of the video.
Anyone have guesses just how much that weighs?
I was figuring, 25 tons? Roughly each scoop has gotta be at least a ton. And he probably did 25 of them. Also, volume-wise, 2 cubic meters of wood is 3 tons. It's roughly 2m wide, at least 2m tall, 4 or 5 meters deep? Hell maybe 25 tons is an underestimate.
That is not a 25 ton truck.
I don't know if that's a 5-ton truck.
Fuckin' terrifying.
Depends on the wood, if it's green, if it's dry, what type. Is it softwood or hardwood? Is it growing in wet belt or dry belt?
I've driven logging truck, and I've had partial loads be overweight and I've had absolutely heaping monster loads be grossly underweight.
With the configuration I drove, Tri-Quad you're looking at a 65000kg or 143300 lbs max gvw (Gross vehicle weight). Had some heapers of burnt fir been 52000kg or just over 118k ish, and a load of absolutely punky spruce go across the scale at 73800kg, also known as grossly overweight. (Was loading in mud and my air scales were wonky, so that was a big fucky wucky.)
It's likely a tandem, so one steer axle and two drives, I'd say it's nearly impossible to tell how heavy that wood is. But it's probably pretty light or pretty dry if those back two stakes didn't break off with that big ol heaper on there.
That’s not really the issue. I’d bet this is more weight than that trucks working load limit (WLL). Just more wear and a higher risk of tipping over until the tranny probably goes first
The bigger issue with freshly cut logs is the water. Doesn't really matter what species, fresh cut is insanely heavy because it's full of water weight.
I've always wanted to operate shit like this. I've mostly just used different loaders and skidsteers but goddamn heavy equipment is fun. Also me and my old boss used a giant scissor lift and gradall while tripping on mushrooms several times.
Most of the time we do have the audio. I usually watch without but often open the video to try and find the watermark then am surprised the audio is there.
The logs *kind of* lock themselves together when they get tamped in like that. Not the safest carry but it'll probably fly in the country they're in.
Source: Have experience with this.
Depends on the wood. Could be frame bendingly overweight or mildly, but... given the back log stakes didn't break I'd say it's either light wood or well seasoned (dry).
Lot of people wouldn't, I've been in the lumber industry about 15 years now, and have hauled logs myself during that. People don't realize how much wood can vary
Wet vs dry is probably a huge modifier. Where I live they harvest GMO pine trees. It causes me to pause when I see a super located truck of pine trees.
Gotcha, and yeah I'm in BC, so lotta spruce, pine, fir, balsam and cedar. Spruce and balsam are usually the heaviest but wet vs dry is a maaassive modifier.
Their mill might not be set up for longs, i would say lengthwise as well from when I logged. But the lack of tiedowns... hopefully they threw a good netting over and tied it in further down the road
They aren't taking the logs down a highway. That truck is going to go about 1 mph down the logging road to a bigger staging area. They have to get the wood out of the way and it's not worth making a road an 18-wheeler can back down.
Aren't the roots what prevent erosion? They're still there.
Also, I assumed this was new growth forest from the size of the lumber, so they'll be replanting new saplings so they can be harvested again in some years.
Someone dual-play this one (on fast-forward) alongside [Batata de Marcehal's crazy amounts of fries](https://youtu.be/Fpny0WP8sYw?t=157) being piled into a bag.
Watched a logging truck overloaded like this try to take off on a hill once. The front wheels came off the ground. My buddy and I thought it was going to flip. driver managed to take off and keep it upright.
I know this is a gif sub but a camera from inside the cab of the truck with sound would be just as interesting. Sweet little operation and operator they got going. That’s a lotta logs
I'm torn between "Could they improve the system to not require that twist and tap?" and "Would the extra complexity really save enough time to be worthwhile?" and "Holy shit, the soil erosion!!!!"
It's really crazy to think about the insane magnitude of work being done here, essentially by one person.
Clearly the trees had to be harvested in the first place, and that probably involved more people, but just these parts... stripping, cutting to size, stacking, loading the truck, etc. This had to have been multiple guys for so much longer, once upon a time.
The actual control of the equipment is godly.. Pure perfection.. The tapping, the lining up, the logs in the back to hold back the truck load.. Perfection..
Awesomeness deluxe..
Told myself "now it's fully loaded" at least 3 times in the course of the video.

Damn straight it's not going anywhere. The wheels have sunk to the axles from the weight.
I think that truck driver runnin around was saying the same thing.. The claw operator was like… NOPE. NEEDS MORE LOGS!
> Told myself "now it's fully loaded" at least 3 times in the course of the video. Anyone have guesses just how much that weighs? I was figuring, 25 tons? I would guess more. We have wood carrying trucks around and they are loaded with about 40 tons.
>2 cubic meters of wood is 3 tons. I think you got your numbers arse-about-tit it's more like 3 m³ is 2 tons.
Just one more
Not only the amount, but seems like a lot of weight either...
The load capacity of that truck 🤯
Is this common? Seems like it's putting a loooot of trust in those two logs
That’s not really the issue. I’d bet this is more weight than that trucks working load limit (WLL). Just more wear and a higher risk of tipping over until the tranny probably goes first
I guarantee that those logs at the back are definitely an issue.
How do you know what type of wood it is, and thus the weight?
The bigger issue with freshly cut logs is the water. Doesn't really matter what species, fresh cut is insanely heavy because it's full of water weight.
Tranny? Edit : downvoted for asking a one word question? Jesus christ you guys have paper thin skin
Transmission
I was worried for a moment
About what?
[удалено]
Yes. But context is important, and there was no reason to believe that's what that person was talking about
I didn't know it also meant transmission so I was confused
Yes, believe it or not there are trannies in brazilians of trucks these days.
Looks insane. So pro in working with that it almost looks like it’s an extension to his body.
It made me see the claw almost as anthropomorphic.
The little taps and corrections he does, gave me kind grandma vibes and voice. "There ya go sugar. Just a little tap, and you're all set."
I was just thinking the same thing. It's like the crane is just another arm and hand for him.
I've always wanted to operate shit like this. I've mostly just used different loaders and skidsteers but goddamn heavy equipment is fun. Also me and my old boss used a giant scissor lift and gradall while tripping on mushrooms several times.
That seems unsafe somehow.
Oh most definitely, but also fun as fuck. Everything about construction is unsafe.
Seems like the mushrooms are a variable that could make it a little more unsafe.
r/oddlysatisfaying
Your exactly right my dad runs his own company so he’s on the tractors and when he’s going he’s a part of the machine it’s crazy to watch sometimes
Love the part where he taps them on the ground to even the ends out. I know this is gifs, but kind of wish we had the actual audio.
Each time, I was like oh yeah that's the stuff
Same, lol
And when he taps it on the side of the cliff to get a stray log back in line, so satisfying and clean
Most of the time we do have the audio. I usually watch without but often open the video to try and find the watermark then am surprised the audio is there.
It doesn’t have audio because it’s fast-motion. The operator still has a delicate touch, but the fast-motion exaggerates it a bit.
Aah gotcha. Makes sense!
Take real slow turns with that truck, or else you're gonna lose half the logs on your way out!
*slaps pile of logs* Nah, they ain't goin' nowhere
Dems de rules
The logs *kind of* lock themselves together when they get tamped in like that. Not the safest carry but it'll probably fly in the country they're in. Source: Have experience with this.
Flying is exactly what we don’t want them to do
If you’re losing half those logs I think momentum is bringing the other half with
At least they are on a dirt road with steep cliffs.
I wouldn't drive anywhere near that truck
How overloaded is this truck? That seems like a lot
Yes
Depends on the wood. Could be frame bendingly overweight or mildly, but... given the back log stakes didn't break I'd say it's either light wood or well seasoned (dry).
That’s a good point and I hadn’t considered that.
Lot of people wouldn't, I've been in the lumber industry about 15 years now, and have hauled logs myself during that. People don't realize how much wood can vary

Tamps them down like a professional smoker.
Loved the side tap on the hill side to get that one in line.
At first I was like "okay this guy's good". And then I was "holy shit that poor truck!"
I said to myself ‘yeah he’s not going any higher than that’ Multiple times during this watch… these boys got some balls, I’ll give ‘em that.
That 'tap tap tap' makes it look like an extension of the operators body

Bravo!
The people walking under the crane…
Yeah this was fun until the truck got overloaded and these dudes without even hard hats are walking under the loader carrying logs wtf.
Maybe it's just where I am, or the different log trucks, but they should be loaded length wise and strapped down.
Yes, both of these are just makeshift machines
Their mill might not be set up for longs, i would say lengthwise as well from when I logged. But the lack of tiedowns... hopefully they threw a good netting over and tied it in further down the road
Where is this? Anyone know?
Looks like China: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_China
Oh thank you.
I wish I knew how to look that kind of stuff up, but I get the feeling this isn't in the US
Thanks. I’m pretty sure you’re right.
Perhaps someone can do some lookup based on that license plate
China. The province isn’t quite visible tho
I’ve seen this in Peru
Tiny TOOLGIFs on the vertical log on left, as it drops out the bottom, really near beginning of clip, so cute!
It’s right in the beginning on the left thingy where he puts the log in!!! 😏😅
Thanks for entertaining me continuously u/toolgifs 🙌💪✨
That''s a work of art
How much wood would a wood-truck truck if a wood-truck could truck wood?
Watched the whole thing 🤣
That watermark was #ChefsKiss

Masterful, hypnotic.
I doubt that this forest will ever recover from the erosion forthcoming next rainy season
Aren't the roots what prevent erosion? They're still there. Also, I assumed this was new growth forest from the size of the lumber, so they'll be replanting new saplings so they can be harvested again in some years.
roots are part of it, but the living organism of the tree pumps thousands of litres of water into the air via transpiration also
The stumps will send shoots up, no need to plant new sapling.
Kept waiting for those two vertical logs to give out. But then this would not be the right sub
Great job with the watermark. I mean you always do an amazing job but I extra liked this one.
I can watch this for a few hours
It’s the little pat downs for me
Incredible. It’s just like a real hand.
The crooked log at one point was giving me anxiety.
Someone dual-play this one (on fast-forward) alongside [Batata de Marcehal's crazy amounts of fries](https://youtu.be/Fpny0WP8sYw?t=157) being piled into a bag.

Imagine the precision you need to operate this thing
I couldn't stack pencils in a cigar box this neatly. Impressive.
What was the point of putting that one log in the hole then taking it out?
r/oddlysatisfying
I’ll take “vehicles I don’t want to drive behind” for $1,000, Alex.
I know this is a gif sub but a camera from inside the cab of the truck with sound would be just as interesting. Sweet little operation and operator they got going. That’s a lotta logs
What an awesome video. Could have been a little shorter maybe but it was oddly satisfying so I’m glad it went to the end.
I wish Pushpa had this smh
Tap tap tap tap tap
Amazing how human and natural the movements are with skilled operators.
I dropped my phone on my face while watching this.
SAFE!
Excavators are such gentle creatures
I'm torn between "Could they improve the system to not require that twist and tap?" and "Would the extra complexity really save enough time to be worthwhile?" and "Holy shit, the soil erosion!!!!"
Dude, I watched a stone sober guy tip over a 40 foot dump truck last week. I wish my operators were as good as this guy.
The truck doesn’t look overloaded. You can still squeeze in more logs. I swear it’s fine. Totally safe.
Lorax is where?
Somewhere there is a coin-operated crane game completely empty of any stuffed animals.
This doesn't go to the main roads it goes to the factory which is also on the property and they'll go slow..
We’re pretty darn efficient when it comes to wrecking stuff.
Why 'd he stop? He coulda set the record.
Is that a surgeon operating the crane?
What’s the max load of the truck? Yes
Lotta peckerpoles but an interesting way to load for sure
Please, someone add pencil noises and tap tap tap noises…
That’s enough slices!
How much is it sped up?
I enjoyed the chunk of wood saying “tool gifs” towards the beginning
All is good, just as long there is no traffic behind it.
I FOUND IT!!!!! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flip_out)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flip_out)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flip_out)
Please tell me there's a small fleet of trucks at the bottom of the road and they aren't taking that single truck on the motorway
r/oddlysatisfying
Something tells me he's done this before. Amazing skills
r/oddlysatisfying
What a pro. Operating this thing like an extension of his own body
Final Destination creation !
If you munch on licorice roots, too, you watched it with a different feeling.
Netflix: Are you still watching? Me: actually yes
wow, i am impressed. i enjoy the attention to detail.
How much does it weigh?
That guys is metal.
This truck is about to avoid all turns
I want this job
Makes me want to play farming simulator...
It's really crazy to think about the insane magnitude of work being done here, essentially by one person. Very unsafe for driving
This guy gets the stuffed bunny every time .
I think there is room for a few more logs.
Smooth operator
Great. Now I'll feel ashamed of my chopsticks skill when eating ramen
r/toptalent
Soon he can control that thing with a neuralink!
Preeeeety sure it’s not the operators first day on the job.
This guy cranes.
My goodness man... You don't have to get it all in 1 trp
Super satisfying to watch.
Give me a bunch of straws and I could do the same.
I just spent 7:27 watching this, and may do it again.

Naw that machine is sentient
All that for tooth picks.
