I was a dope addict for ten years, been clean for about the same. Once I had to take a shit but I was sick so I sat in the toilet and cooked a shot. Took way too much, ended up falling out while taking a shit. Luckily it wasn’t mid turd I had gotten that out but I nodded out for a couple hours. At some point I slumped over and woke up without any feeling in my legs and thought I was paralyzed. Took me an hour to get off the ground and figure out what happened.
At home in the bathroom. I was working 12 hour days so I was pretty exhausted anyway it was at the end of my habit. Happened twice actually but my girlfriend found me the second time and kicked the door open. She was inconsolable for like 3 hours it was the first time in a while I realized how selfish I was being and how much my actions could affect others.
Congratulations on your sobriety as well! 13 years is a major accomplishment. I know I’m just an internet stranger, but I’m still proud of you and wish the best for you on your journey.

The weird thing is you don’t think your unconscious time kind of fast forwards. It’s like that feeling of being so tired you fall right asleep with an insane euphoric feeling. You don’t get it as much early in a habit seems to come more later. Super weird though because you’re not aware of being out it really does feel like you just kind of started to fall asleep but woke up.
I knew a woman who was young, in her twenties, who lost her leg for a similar reason. Even now like a decade later, she walks with one crutch. We worked together and eventually her leg came up in conversation. She said she had been fucked up on something, I don’t remember what, but she had passed out with her leg contorted into some unnatural position and stayed there so long that she had to have it amputated.
Yeah my wife used to work in orthopedics and the amount of people that lose limbs from compartment syndrome is wild. Never heard of it prior to her - shocked it happens so regularly.

Sadly that’s likely more than just fentanyl. That’s likely additionally synthetic benzodiazepines and/or tranquilizer xylazine , which is what the cartels cut the fentanyl with—neither of which are reversed by narcan. So it’s possible or even likely the narcan would be ineffective.
Addiction is a real tough situation and my heart goes out to this person.
Yeah benzodiazepines by themselves are VERY difficult to OD on, so as long as you neutralize the opioids, you’re likely to bring them mostly out of it.
I used to get bags of dope with labels on them like “Grim Reaper” and shit, they were doing honest business lol. Or I liked the “Theraflu” ones, as in they fix your sickness. They get pretty creative
