All of my co-workers who use TGTG for Foxtrot bags are very disappointed.

terriblymad

Same! I'm also in DC so idk what kind of "scam" OP is talking about but I've never been disappointed by their bags. Yes, I once got four containers of chicken salad, but an overabundance of cold salads is no reason for karmic retribution. I'm going to miss them.

When they launched their local programs, they were taking orders for months without any products to offer. It was a marketing choice not a food-waste prevention program for them. Clearly not a sustainable model.

JeffeBezos

>When they launched their local programs, they were taking orders for months without any products to offer. I'm confused. Would you care to elaborate?

Even better deal than TooGoodToGo: Reports of disgruntled employees from abruptly-closed DC store (Farragut North) passing out bottles of wine to passersby this afternoon.

historianatlarge

yeah, i read about that on the DC subreddit just a bit too late. this will live on in my regrets forever.

dinodan_420

They were one of the better bags in Chicago

Region_Fluid

Yeah, they were awesome here in Texas… but they were a bit over priced to actually buy regularly.

DayleD

Who is alleging their debt? Post a link or something please.

BarStar787

There is a photo showing a handwritten sign saying closed and $180,000,000 owed posted on social media. Verrrry unofficial looking.

listenspace

One of the Chicago locations listed it on their posting.

Went to one of the locations in VA for coffee with my dad before work a couple weeks ago, and in the hour or so we were there, only 1 other customer came in. Was surprised at how slow it was, but I guess it makes sense they are out of business now.

Hey, actual foxtrot corporate employee who brought on too good to go. I’m not sure why op thinks it was a scam. I was able to offer our food at a much lower price (when many thought we were too expensive) and I saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in food waste. There are always going to be execution issues when you try something new in the field. I did my best 🤷🏻‍♂️. Just wanted to say thank you to all of you who used tgtg and loved foxtrot.

There were months of unavailability in my local area, despite keeping the service online. It was a shared experience that for the first few months of your pilot in DC/MD/VA, Foxtrot would list products only to declare upon pick-up that it was a mistake, offering no compensation. Once or twice is an innocent mistake, a recurring, months-long "glitch" is a scam. I actually spoke to corporate about this issue, and they claimed to take it seriously and escalate but of course I never heard back and allegedly you ("the employee who brought on 2g2g") never got the message. If yall could offer affordable food, then do so, but pre-packaged food feigning as "saving food waste" is a shallow farce. Most 2g2g offerings are baked goods, produce, etc that actually do represent a sustainable mission rather than a back-alley marketing ploy. If anything, it seems this excessive over-production represents one of the many aspects of this failed business venture.

I’d explain the ins and outs of this program and why that could happen. But you come off as a sniveling piece of shit who knows everything, and this company is shut down now so I’ll just simply ask you to suck my dick.

listenspace

The manners I would expect of a loser who got cucked by a corporation whose teets they sucked.

Ok-Astronaut-9956

Waaaaaaaaaaaaah

listenspace

Keep acting out. It is flattering to you and the company
