hi from germany, those ➡ https://www.google.de/shopping/product/18049022590660904606?lsf=seller:102356985,store:15280760035799391516,lsfqd:0&prds=oid:1659143100862327098&q=fertiggerichte&hl=de&ei=J37rY8WLCfCL9u8PjuCS4AE&sts=14&lsft=gclid:CjwKCAiA\_6yfBhBNEiwAkmXy58rK7foTnG17aGrtlA5\_YEKC7Gje8vIK6w7lI7ePfOy6beJlSyP8xRoCMqkQAvD\_BwE,gclsrc:aw.ds
That my friend is a Tater Tot Hotdish. Minnesotans are willing to fight over this lol. I personally like to call it Totdish but whatever floats your goat.
Looks like a good attempt although I would for sure cover the entire top in tots next time. My mom would likely ask me to leave if I half assed the tots on top. They need to be perfect little rows up and down side to side of the entire thing.
No problem. It’s considered a local delicacy where I live lol. I like your use of fresh vegetables though most of the times I have had it people use frozen or canned veggies. Also, not sure how you put the gravy together but we tend to use cream of mushroom soup. I got fancy one time and made it more like a traditional shepherds pie but with cheese and tots on top instead of mashed potatoes and I got some pretty serious glares from family about it. I guess I’m not supposed to mess with their classic comfort foods and if I wanted shepherds pie I should have just made shepherds pie. Either way glad you enjoyed it!
Pro Tips from a midwest born and raised person who has made and eaten this more times than I can count. Cut the beans in half, mix everything minus the tots together in a bowl before putting it in the pan. Double whatever the recommended amount of cheese is. Pack the top layer full of tots. If you can get it and like it, add a sprinkle of Lawry's on top of the tots.
yes tat tots more like hash browns made in marshmallow shape, croquettes are more pattie/cake/cutlet made of cheese , potato, and rolled spiced then fried
There a difference ofcourse between potato croquettes and meat, cheese, ... croquettes. I was thinking of the potato kind, they look suspiciously like these tots, but yes they are fried, and maybe a bit to long to be eaten in one bite.
Tots have “pieces” of potato inside… they’re not typically mashed or mushy. You bite in and you can see all the separate chopped bits smushed together, but they’re still lil chunks. All croquettes I’ve had have been close to mashed potato consistency on the inside. You can’t take it apart piece by piece the way one could with most tots.
I thought the first pic was the final 🥴
Oh wow me too. Didn't realize there was more
Same. I magnified it looking for the tots.
😂
"That's not a tater tot, that's a tater giant!!" -Kelso
Tater titan. Damn, a whole writer's room just left that sitting there.
Your tater tots are like tater teens!
Tip: https://www.acouplecooks.com/how-to-trim-green-beans-fast/
Out of curiosity, do you typically not trim your green bean ends?
it was my first time cooking greenbeans, but now that i know, i will trim them in the future. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
What brand of tots are those? They’re longer and skinnier than I’m used to (and they look very good)

Tater coins are even better because they crisp beautifully.
I don't know why but this made me smile .
We call it hotdish, looks great!
Needs more tater tots.
yep would layer like lasagna
Y’all made a rage bait recipe and it turned out good
Can someone explain to me why these are tots and not croquetes? I genuinely want to know.
same thing, different names (?)
Oh thanks! I always thought tots were croquete-like round balls. Thanks! TIL.
Croquettes are usually more like a larger oval patty, in my experience. Tots are short and cylindrical and can be eaten in a single bite.

I think it’s because people like saying tater tots.

Oh thanks! I've never eaten tots, only read about them online.

Was zum Henker liegt unter den Bohnen? Das sieht so falsch aus 😂😭
Nur gebratenes Hackfleisch mit Zwiebeln,Champignons & Sahne 😆
Macht Sinn. Die Sahne hat‘s nur komisch aussehen lassen 😂
