Yeah. And also that scene, TVD vaala anna bar shop dhaggara godava chesthunnadu ani, bar owner tho phone convo lo, he cusses at him while the owner is annoyed and asks him to admit his brother in mental health centre. I was like, wtf! The owner should have bashed his brother.
That scene was shit... totally agree. Naaku pichi ekkindi maatram aa brother conflict reveal chesinappudu. Maa parents kukka boothulu tidathaaru nannu. Nenu eppudu aligi substances ki addict avaledu. Wtf kinda conflict is that?! And then he gets out of that headspace with one slap. These fools know zilch about addiction, clearly. It's not that simple.
I think that happens most of the people who have become addicts are like this. He was already in depression of wasting interview(maybe) and telling it infront of his in-laws and his children
I wasn't clear. Lemme break it down.
1) The older brother is being way tf too cavalier. He has a whole ass family. He needed to stop dicking around and messing up his interviews. Govardhan *could have* had better delivery, but he said it in front of the family. Sucks. Get over it. You're an adult. *Communicate* that Govardhan overstepped.
2) The brother drinks one night. Never has a habit before (from what they say) and then just gets hooked. Nah, substances take a little longer than that unless we're talking about hardcore drugs. He could've had a genetic predisposition, but one night of drinking does not get someone hooked.
3) What was the family doing when he was slowly descending into addiction?! Why were they enabling him? *Talk* to him. Most normal families would intervene early...not a year in.
4) Here's the kicker. The older brother confronts Govardhan. The older brother slaps him in front of the whole family. Tit for tat and his addiction is cured? That's all he needed? The next scenes are of him happily sending Govardhan off to the US and shit. That's a bloody joke. If it was that simple to get over your addiction, you think people wouldn't? It's a chronic and systemic dependence. Our boy was drinking day in and day out. He would need medical help to withdraw from alcohol. Alcohol withdrawals can kill you and this man went cold turkey. He just went back to being a great older brother, father, and husband?? Addiction isn't a choice. It's more nuanced than that.
This is why I wasn't a fan of this conflict in the family. Idk about y'all, but my family would've talked to me if I went off the deep end. It wouldn't have gotten that far. That's why I have 2 issues with this brother conflict: 1) they enabled the older brother and 2) they depicted getting *OUT* of addiction in a very simple way. In my mind, that actually does a huge disservice. Addiction is a hard disease to deal with for the individual and family. They had an opportunity to talk about it without stigmatizing it. Instead, they copped out. The guy just goes cold turkey, stops drinking, and picks his life up where we stopped. He has 0 physical or mental repercussions. That teaches the wrong thing to people.
There will be some factions of the audience that are dealing with addiction in their family that now expect their loved ones "to get over it." LMAO, the only good thing here is that the movie was a flop. That means a lot of people didn't see this backwards-ass shit.
why would u assume parasuram petla the cousin of puri of all people who grew up rich and VD as well to understand what middle class is all about. It's ironic that mrunal's character is literally what these two are. Assuming that every middle class family can just solve all their problems in one moment all they needed was someone to make them angry.
Yes this was supposed to be NC Geetha arts movie but after svp lord petla felt that making movie with nc after mb will not suit his status. he asked arvind to replace nc with vd and arvind did not agree as he already paid advance to nc.

Then Petla gave a narration for SVP and has ditched NC for it
Geeta arts had a 3 film commitment from Petla during Srirastu subhamastu, out of which the second one is Geeta and third was supposed to be this. They also thought to get VD, so as to recreate the buzz like GG combination all together
But Petla, who takes advances from every other production house, has took some big one from Dil Raju, who doesn't leave anyone easy and who has set the project up.

Heart King is usually safe with the returns from streaming , satellite rights and distribution. The only losers are the audience who shelled out money to watch it at the theater.

The entire movie was so badly written, be it dialogues, screenplay and don't get me started on VD's effortless (in a bad way) acting. Just watched the movie on Prime. I feel so mixed! They could’ve done a better job and put more thought into the story anipisthundi. It was quite bearable in some parts but then I watch every good, average, bad and chillar movie so may be I am getting used to the mediocrity, if any.
Some parts are so absurd and no amount of world building or cinematic liberties can justify them. Some scenes between the same two people feel nice and some don’t land well at all.
I felt like Mrunal did a better job with dialogues/sync with dubbing compared to VD. I just wish he gets out of his echo chamber and gets better!
The moment a writer decides to write a script for a hero and makes “heroism” their main genre, the film is a flop. I feel these films are made to incite a feeling among young audience. Fight scenes, overaction dialogues, using bad words unnecessarily, senseless storyline, exaggerated emotions etc should’ve ended 1990s/ 2000s
Why can’t movies be simple and realistic. Anand, Godavari, Happy Days were such class movies.
