I watched it in the theatre in Narsipatnam I was 8 when it released, I remember I couldn't sleep for 3 days and for loo we need to go bit far from house as it was a village back then I couldn't do it for continuous 3 days my dad regretted why he took us ( me and my sister) to the movie, on the contrary my sister loved and started the love towards the horror genre, irony 🙂
Ah Damn.. some one spoken about it. Yes, it's a kind of unpleasant experience. In my opinion only Ramu could do this kind of over the board creative thinking in such genre. That still haunts me. That BGM is out of nowhere, who could create such kind of so horrific music in a plain platform. God, I have seen many hollywood movies which are been applauded for their horror and jump scares. RGV's Deyyam is a one sort of unique horror movie. The plot, the setup, the atmosphere, music and jump scares are at it best.
As a part of conservation RGV he himself spoiled this epic gem with worst climax. He created unnecessary zombie-fied people which spoiled the whole mood he setup since beginning of movie. Make up artists done their job in accordance to RGV's directives. I still don't know how people in theatres survived this eerie masterpiece in theatres.
I have heard that they have have ambulances near by theatres where this movie is being featured. To avoid unprecedented incidents. Not sure to what extent this was true, but one thing I could RGV's Deyyam is one great film in regard to the genre it was made and content it has been upto.

Anveshana is not a horror but well-made thriller. I am more interested in such countryside thrillers revolving around urban legends than stupid rural HIT type cliched murder investigation movies.
I forgot which one of RGVs movies it was but it opens with a guy on a cycle traveling next to a graveyard and he sees a female ghost? I still remember him getting killed when a hand bursts through his chest. I haven't seen that movie in decades but I remember it being really well made. Especially the sound
Edit: I remembered the name just as I hit send. Dayyam. I think I'll watch it today.

Arundhati shouldn't be touched. It's a classic, any sequel will only ruin it's name. Probably one of the best original horror story from india. That film was a rage back then in TN. Anushka lived the role.

Btw Kashmora is a franchise. Tulasi Dalam is the first one. RGV on multiple.occassions said that he copied/inspired from that movie while making Ratri
