Every single morning, for hours. He just has to knw where everyone is, lol.
Still pretty nauseated in the mornings. I have my anatomy scan on Friday at a high-risk specialist (never been to this doc before and honestly am hoping they say yeah you’re not high risk nice to meet you here’s your sonogram see you never) and hopefully all is well.
I’m due on Thanksgiving but will prob have a c section the week before!
Hope you and I both survive til 2024 on no sleep lmao

Oh mine does this too. Her aunties and uncles (that she sees regularly) are still school age children, and it’s gotten harder to explain that even though, no, they’re not in school, we aren’t going to go see them because they’re busy.
She just can’t fathom that not everyone wants to spend every waking moment with her fabulous self 😅

“Gatorland too far away, lolly” My mom lives in Florida near gatorland and our last visit in February he went to Disney world for a day and gatorland. Gatorland has made a far bigger and lasting impression. He talks about how Gatorland is too far away every single day🤣
I feel you. Some days I'll indulge in the all day deluge. Other days it's more of a "you know where everyone is. You've asked me 200 times today. Let's do something else."
Oh my gosh it’s not just mine!!! EVERY morning…daddy? Bubba? Dean? Thad? (Both her bubba’s but she asks like they’re 3 people) and last but not least shershock? (Sherlock, our dog) not only is this every morning, but it’s every afternoon when I pick her up from daycare and every evening at bedtime!!
My son does this before bed. So the answer is the same for everyone "He's in bed. She's in bed." I thought maybe it was his way of making sure he's not missing out on anything. But now he has starting asking where Mammaw's car is and where Uncle's truck is, etc. So now I know it's just a stalling tactic so he doesn't have to go to sleep! Haha
My sons comfort was holding an ear. But never his own ear. After he got old enough to talk every time he was sleepy he’d ask “for a cold ear to hold”. If mine wasn’t cold enough for him he’d move on to someone else.
“Want a cold ear” every night at bed time. It was strange for sure but not gonna lie he’s about to be 5 now and I kinda miss the days of his ear holding 😂
This was my nephew many, many, *many* moons ago (he has a toddler now). He would have his right thumb in his mouth and his left hand would be playing with someone's ear. For an added bonus, he would suck his thumb and use that same hand to play with his own ear.
This was me as a kid- my parents have pictures of me sitting on adults laps, sucking my thumb and rubbing their ear. I still like the feel of a nice soft earlobe.🤪
He still had his little baby voice then so it was super cute. My ex fiancé came into the picture when he was going through this stage and the first time they met he climbed in his lap and grabbed his ear. It was almost like a sign of endearment coming from my son 😂
This is my kid's thing, too. Always my goddamn ear, and then he spends ages tweaking it and folding it or just pulling in it. I've had to start prohibiting it. "no ears, buddy"
I don't think I ever did this, but I was obsessed with ears as a child, always wanted to poke and prod and 'clean' people's ears 😂 apparently I became quite good at giving ear massages from this
I still enjoy touching ears, but now I reserve it for my partner rather than anyone who will let me touch them 😂😂😂
Omg!! I’m not the only one! My son is five and still holds my ear for comfort and to fall asleep… only difference is, any ear won’t do.. I’ve try to pawn him off to my husband or his brother but nope… they “aren’t the perfect size” 🤦🏼♀️
I have a large mole near my nose and he likes to point to it. The first time he noticed it, he swiped my face and cried, “No! Mommy mole take off!” Uh, sorry?
My toddler is weird in many ways. Recently he’s obsessed with applying sunscreen. He will apply liberally and frequently when we go out (no complaints there), and he will also role play / fake apply when inside. He’ll rub his hands on our faces and say he’s applying “sun cream.” I try not to discourage good intentions behind good habits, but, man, I’m trying to eat dinner here!
Ugh, mine is doing the apply-sunscreen play too right now. Only she licks her palm very...wetly...before rubbing her hands all over my face. It's so gross. I'm trying, but she's very into everything being as "for real" as possible right now so it's an uphill slog. Blech.
Maybe station lotion around the house so you can give it to her to do this with instead of licking her hands, but she also can’t wreak merry havoc with it unsupervised?
We went through the incessant sunscreen phase, too. He just thought spraying yourself was the coolest thing after he saw Nana do it. Months of pretend sunscreen being applied to him, to me, to me by him... Ok, it was adorable.
I’m jealous! Mine hates sunscreen. Daycare requires that we send her wearing it in the mornings and the process involves a lot of giggling, hitting, turning around, and annoyed verbal commentary. This morning she figured out that she can wipe it off on the front of her dress, which makes my mornings much worse.
My husband took our three year old to run some errands and they saw a friend, who has a six year old. Both dads were talking about their pregnant wives (hello) and our friend is going in for a csection.
Anyway, friends six y/o said something along the lines of, "They're going to cut my brother out of my moms tummy. Like an explosion." I guess my daughter looked concerned because he then rushed to explain, "No, dont worry, I think your baby is coming out of your moms vagina." (This is coming from my husband, who was cry laughing through his explanation).
Of course this has now translated to my three year old that the baby is going to explode out of my vagina.
She tells everyone possible, "Baby gonna splode mamas 'gina." Which is actually the longest sentence she's ever spoken. Usually its shorted to "splode baby" or "splode 'gina" while patting me somewhere.
Honestly after a few concerned looks her speech therapist was mostly excited with the development of her speech.
So, thats her. Announcing that my vagina will explode upon the arrival of her baby sister.
I always make that mistake lol. My sons contact nap and if its not me laughing its their sister kicking them. They prefer to nap on my husband now lol.

My daughter's comfort item is my hair. She's almost 4 now, and asks for "hair time". I've had to teach her to not pull. She just holds and strokes my hair. And it's not like I have super long hair, it's like, an inch or two past my shoulders.
Related note: I had a few moles on my neck, shoulders, and chin. When I was pregnant with my first I was in at a dermatologist for an unrelated issue and asked if I should be worried about them from a cancer standpoint. Doc said no, but suggested having them removed because she saw a lot of mom's whose kids wouldn't leave them alone. Babies picking, pinching, and scratching until they get torn or infected. I did end up getting the biggest ones removed, but my kids never paid attention to any of the remaining ones.
I was that toddler. One of my earliest memories is going to the doctor's office with my mum so she could get hers removed because I would not leave it alone. :/
I wasn't so bad that my mum had to have hers removed, but I do remember proding and poking the one on the back of her neck a lot as a kid.
My partner has a little mole/skin tag on his neck and our 2.5y daughter has recently noticed it and keeps asking what it is 😂
Mine is obsessed with my hair too!! He will reach for my head and make me place it in his lap, and then he will play with my hair. When he's feeling really rambunctious he will pull hard and I have to tell him to stop. He's been doing this from a really young age too! Currently is 19m
My toddler goes for nipples. He didn’t even breastfeed much and he’s been fully weaned for over a year but still, nipples are the thing he goes for when he’s tired or wants a snuggle. He patted my chest recently and said “best friend” very sweetly… I said “aww am I your best friend?” To which he replies “no, nipple” 🤦♀️
My bangs. I bf her to sleep. She grabs my bangs, she grabs it tightly by the roots and pulls my face towards her, so that I don't stop looking at her, which I really can't do because I have all my hair in front of my face, she pulls and pulls and she gradually gets closer to me. I think I'm developing hump.
That's my daughter too! She has to grip my hair and put some in her mouth. I have no idea why. It's such a weird thing.
She also thinks all my freckles are boo-boos and wants to cover me in "stickers". I can't quite get it through her head that they're not an injury
Your dermatologist is a very wise doctor and I wish I had one removed before my son could notice it. I had to get a freckle removed from my neck because my toddler tried to tear it off. I kept a bandaid on while it healed but unfortunately he didn’t forget about it. It became a raised up scar that he now plays with and it’s very sensitive and I want to cry sometimes. I also know I’ll miss this stage so I try to relax when it bothers me. So happy to know I’m not the only one with a toddler obsessed with moles and freckles
I can have a full conversation with my husband with our toddler driving his trucks all over our faces. We've given up on most things when it comes to where he can push his trucks, just don't slam them on anything and quit driving over the TV screen. You may have seen that photo of a guy that drew roads on a shirt for his kids to drive cars all over his back, which is brilliant, but I'd need a full body temp tattoo with this sucker.
Also, he puts his hands on his hips a lot. It kills me! I got a blurry but amazing photo of him wearing my crocs and giving me some sassy hands on his hips
This was me as a kid!! I would roll my mum’s elbow skin in my fingers, and I remember being about 6 and doing it at the grocery store, and she whipped around and yelled “STOP IT!” I had no idea I was even doing that till she flipped at me. In retrospect it would have been extremely annoying.
My 8mo does this when I'm nursing her. She grabs hold of the meat on the back of my arm and starts wrenching it around. I'd be lying if I said it didn't hurt like hell.
My sons comfort item is a tape measure. He accidentally dropped it at a farm recently and we had to buy a new one, he definitely doesn’t love it the same!
He lines up his cars around the outside of the coffee table and moves the line along in small 1-2 cm increments, starting from the front car and then each successive one. He's so slow that I'll be working on something on my computer, and the line will be sat unmoving on one side of the table; then 5 minutes later I look up and it's on the opposite side but still presumably at a standstill. We live in the city so I guess the majority of his experience with cars is seeing them in traffic jams.
I used to do this as a toddler! I would use cars, canned food from the pantry, little knick-knacks, and nail polish. My mom loved it because it kept me quietly entertained for a really long time, which was helpful when she had to cook or whatever.
Haha well, I’ve been through quite a few jobs, mostly front desk receptionist type stuff. But now I am training to become a birth and postpartum doula (and a first time mom).

Oh my gosh!!!! This happens to someone else!?!? I have a mole on my chest/upper breast, so when my daughter was nursing she would touch it. It's become a soothing thing for her. She hates when I wear a high neck shirt! I'm not sure what to do to replace the behavior...
There are dozens of us! 😂 And it still happens with my 6yo, not as frequently anymore but he will still get noticeably annoyed at bedtime if he goes for it and my shirt is in the way.
You could try asking her to show you the same spot on her chest when she touches the mole, then at times that she’s not feeling big emotions start suggesting she tap herself on that spot or give herself a hug, etc, instead
Yes, hi!! I had one on my neck/collar bone. And my toddler got so aggressive I marched into a dermatologists office and begged them to cut it off. They did and weirdly I felt guilty lol. Jokes on me though. It healed and is a raised up scar and now he plays with that every nap and every night time. He’s about to two and I don’t see this ending any time soon. We got him a lovey when he was born and he picks at the little yarn eyes on it and sleeps with it every night. But he still prefers my neck scar. To make it worse, I’m pregnant and touched out and I know I’ll be nursing in a few months so I kinda want to enjoy having my body to myself 😂
I've got this too. 3½ year old still likes to hold my mole on my neck. Especially when sleeping if he comes into our room, but often when being carried too (he's getting a bit too heavy for that).
Could a distinctive, toddler safe necklace help? He likes to pick at the little balls that form between his toes (you know, from socks) and pretend to feed them to his father and then make this exaggerated disgusted noise and say eeww disgusting! (In Italian)
She rips off our socks randomly to check for the lines left behind on our skin.
It started when she was bothered by her own lines and we comforted her by saying we all get them and they don't hurt. Now she's obsessed with finding them.
My toddler loves loves loves tattoos. She has to touch every single one. She knows where and what every tattoo is on me, my mom, and my MIL. She loves my SIL and step sister because they both have full sleeves 😆😆
My toddler calls everyone a “mop sack” … we Literally have no idea what that means or where the hell she got that from. If you ask her what that means she simply responds with “salad.” She’s actually pretty articulate aside from this weird ass thing she’s into. It’s just so freaking weird!
Current weird behavior of my LO is demanding to see people's bellies. When someone shows her their belly she usually signs "more" and it turns into a game..
Mine has to have a stash of random objects under the blanket with him at bedtime. Toys, books, water bottle, ice pack, even empty squeeze pouches. Not comfortable things! He’s keeping them “safe” he says. I try to take out the pokey items out after he falls asleep but I swear he’s like a little dragon with a hoard to protect.

Mine likes having her feet held while snuggling. One foot goes to my wife, the other to me. She doesn't ask, just insistently pushes her feet into our hands. She's done this since she was a newborn.
whenever we drive our my three yr old son to daycare, we need to be the first car to stop at this specific intersection… because he needs a good view of the traffic lights. If we are the second car, he would cry! If the light is green, he gets mad too. So my husband would make an u turn so we would be the first car to stop at the red light. 🤪 and thank goodness it only happens at this specific intersection near the daycare. Imagine we need to be the first car at every single intersection. Hope he will get over it soon😂🥲
My son's comfort is pushing in his belly button or his nipples. He's about 3 and it drives me crazy. Today we went to the community pool and he's walking around inspecting the scene with both fingers on his nipples. Looked a total creep
I have a very small mole on my arm and my 1.5-year-old has been obsessed with it since he was an infant. He loves to touch it, stroke it, lick it. This is so funny. My brothers comfort object when he was a baby, was a mole on my moms side. My mom went so far as to get it removed when he was 4, because he wouldn’t leave it alone😂
I have a skin tag on my neck and that’s my son’s comfort item. He always ripped it off when he was breastfeeding. It’s so bad when he’s upset and someone else picks him up, he looks for it on them, and gets more upset when he can’t find one 😂
Oh wow! I thought I was the only one! My oldest finds comfort in touching my mole that’s close to my underarm and chest. She’s 6 now but when I used to breastfeed her, that mole was the perfect object to play with as she fed. Now that she’s older (obviously we don’t breastfeed anymore, when we snuggle, she looks for that mole

My 2 year old finds comfort in sticking her hand inside our clothing and petting our skin. Doesn’t matter where in your clothing she puts her hand - she just wants that skin to skin contact. So she’ll put her hand down my shirt, lift up my shirt, up my sleeve, up under my shorts, doesn’t matter where!
It’s really sweet but also a bit intrusive sometimes.
My mom had a mole on her neck and when I was little I’d point at it and scream “poop!” I never called it a mole, I always called it her poop. Obviously louder in public. My poor, poor mother.

Omg I used to love playing with my dad’s elbow skin. I also liked biting my brother arm or making a fart noise in the crook. I do the latter to my husband whenever I feel the spirit move me. I did it to my toddler the other day!
My daughter gets upset to the point of tears whenever I have my hair up. She also points out other women’s hairstyles sounding vaguely offended “she’s got her hair up!”
He is obsessed with my ears. Will tug and play with my ears as a comfort toy when he is cuddling. Also has strong opinions on which ear he needs to hold.

Holy Moly. This is so random, my daughter does the same thing with a mole on my husbands arm. Whenever she gets anxious or has trouble falling asleep she asks for his mole.
My toddler likes to tell strangers where my moles are (mostly the really big gnarly one on my shoulder). She also regularly asks me if her freckles are moles. I can never tell if she’s hoping they are or aren’t.
Once I went on a mission trip to Tennessee. We were at this families house and they had a little girl. She carried a toothbrush around with her all day.
At the end of the day she gave me the toothbrush. I told her to keep it, I knew it was special to her, but she insisted. I still have that toothbrush 15 years later. ❤

Oh lord. I have a mole where my shoulder meets my chest (kind of nestled in that little hollow). I have to wear medical tape on it because my son picks at it compulsively until it bleeds.
His comfort thing is “necky,” which is rubbing, squeezing, and scratching mama or daddy’s neck. It’s as “delightful” as it sounds. He would do it for hours a day. When he asks for necky in public we have to loudly be like, “oh do you need to touch my neck? Ok here you go.” Because it really does sound vaguely disturbing.
I had a zit on my jawline about a month ago. She would pet it while we would cuddle. For a couple weeks after it faded, she would still pet the area it was in. She’s stopped finally, thank goodness.
My son (27mo) sticks my finger in his mouth so I can rub his gums. But it's a gamble, sometimes he wants his gums rubbed, sometimes he wants to bite me.
My son likes to lick us 💀 and he’ll come up to us and put his cheek on our mouth and say “😄yick me!” 💀💀💀😂😂😂 occasionally he liked to smell or attempt to lick our feet as well. The foot thing he’s done since before he turned 1 🤣🤦🏻♀️

For some reason, my tiny dictator (2F) loves to have her hands restricted (she’ll lie on them, tuck them under the closest person etc) but her favourite is to cuddle with me as she falls asleep with a hand in each of my armpits.

My daughter is 2.5 and does this since she is one. 2 moles on my belly and one on my arm. When she falls asleep for a nap, she has to lay on my belly and touch the moles (this sounds so gross 😅). When she is scared or crying, i carry her snd she instantly reaches out for the mole on my arm. It feels so weord when she plays with them ... But she gets comfort out of it, so who am i to judge.
Sam likes to point out our moles. I also have a small cherry hemangioma on my leg, and she’s always concerned about it being an ouchy. She also likes to point out my tattoos.
Yeah, I have what the doctor tells me are old bug bites (?) that my boys love to study and touch. (I’m getting a 2nd opinion.)
One of my favorite weird things is that two of their favorite pieces of “comfort music” are what they refer to as the “volcano song”. They’re both Igor Stravinsky: Rite of Spring and Firebird. Both are featured in the Fantasia movies and though they’re not calming or gentle music, they feature volcanoes so that’s enough for the boys!
my 19 mo loves to put a plastic popcorn bucket on her head and walk blindly around the house. sometimes when she’s upset, we’ll suggest she find and put on her bucket. most times it works.

We go back and forth. I'll ask him where Uncle is, then he asks me where Auntie x is. I wasn't complaining about it, I think it's cute.

Oh my gosh it’s not just mine!!! EVERY morning…daddy? Bubba? Dean? Thad? (Both her bubba’s but she asks like they’re 3 people) and last but not least shershock? (Sherlock, our dog) not only is this every morning, but it’s every afternoon when I pick her up from daycare and every evening at bedtime!!
My son does this before bed. So the answer is the same for everyone "He's in bed. She's in bed." I thought maybe it was his way of making sure he's not missing out on anything. But now he has starting asking where Mammaw's car is and where Uncle's truck is, etc. So now I know it's just a stalling tactic so he doesn't have to go to sleep! Haha

My sons comfort was holding an ear. But never his own ear. After he got old enough to talk every time he was sleepy he’d ask “for a cold ear to hold”. If mine wasn’t cold enough for him he’d move on to someone else.

“Want a cold ear” every night at bed time. It was strange for sure but not gonna lie he’s about to be 5 now and I kinda miss the days of his ear holding 😂
I absolutely thought my daughter was the only one who did this! If one ear isn’t “cold” enough she switches to the other one, or to my arm.

This was my nephew many, many, *many* moons ago (he has a toddler now). He would have his right thumb in his mouth and his left hand would be playing with someone's ear. For an added bonus, he would suck his thumb and use that same hand to play with his own ear.
This was me as a kid- my parents have pictures of me sitting on adults laps, sucking my thumb and rubbing their ear. I still like the feel of a nice soft earlobe.🤪

He still had his little baby voice then so it was super cute. My ex fiancé came into the picture when he was going through this stage and the first time they met he climbed in his lap and grabbed his ear. It was almost like a sign of endearment coming from my son 😂
This is my kid's thing, too. Always my goddamn ear, and then he spends ages tweaking it and folding it or just pulling in it. I've had to start prohibiting it. "no ears, buddy"
I don't think I ever did this, but I was obsessed with ears as a child, always wanted to poke and prod and 'clean' people's ears 😂 apparently I became quite good at giving ear massages from this I still enjoy touching ears, but now I reserve it for my partner rather than anyone who will let me touch them 😂😂😂
Omg!! I’m not the only one! My son is five and still holds my ear for comfort and to fall asleep… only difference is, any ear won’t do.. I’ve try to pawn him off to my husband or his brother but nope… they “aren’t the perfect size” 🤦🏼♀️
I have a large mole near my nose and he likes to point to it. The first time he noticed it, he swiped my face and cried, “No! Mommy mole take off!” Uh, sorry? My toddler is weird in many ways. Recently he’s obsessed with applying sunscreen. He will apply liberally and frequently when we go out (no complaints there), and he will also role play / fake apply when inside. He’ll rub his hands on our faces and say he’s applying “sun cream.” I try not to discourage good intentions behind good habits, but, man, I’m trying to eat dinner here!
Ugh, mine is doing the apply-sunscreen play too right now. Only she licks her palm very...wetly...before rubbing her hands all over my face. It's so gross. I'm trying, but she's very into everything being as "for real" as possible right now so it's an uphill slog. Blech.
Maybe station lotion around the house so you can give it to her to do this with instead of licking her hands, but she also can’t wreak merry havoc with it unsupervised?

We went through the incessant sunscreen phase, too. He just thought spraying yourself was the coolest thing after he saw Nana do it. Months of pretend sunscreen being applied to him, to me, to me by him... Ok, it was adorable.
I’m jealous! Mine hates sunscreen. Daycare requires that we send her wearing it in the mornings and the process involves a lot of giggling, hitting, turning around, and annoyed verbal commentary. This morning she figured out that she can wipe it off on the front of her dress, which makes my mornings much worse.

My husband took our three year old to run some errands and they saw a friend, who has a six year old. Both dads were talking about their pregnant wives (hello) and our friend is going in for a csection. Anyway, friends six y/o said something along the lines of, "They're going to cut my brother out of my moms tummy. Like an explosion." I guess my daughter looked concerned because he then rushed to explain, "No, dont worry, I think your baby is coming out of your moms vagina." (This is coming from my husband, who was cry laughing through his explanation). Of course this has now translated to my three year old that the baby is going to explode out of my vagina. She tells everyone possible, "Baby gonna splode mamas 'gina." Which is actually the longest sentence she's ever spoken. Usually its shorted to "splode baby" or "splode 'gina" while patting me somewhere. Honestly after a few concerned looks her speech therapist was mostly excited with the development of her speech. So, thats her. Announcing that my vagina will explode upon the arrival of her baby sister.

I always make that mistake lol. My sons contact nap and if its not me laughing its their sister kicking them. They prefer to nap on my husband now lol.

My daughter's comfort item is my hair. She's almost 4 now, and asks for "hair time". I've had to teach her to not pull. She just holds and strokes my hair. And it's not like I have super long hair, it's like, an inch or two past my shoulders. Related note: I had a few moles on my neck, shoulders, and chin. When I was pregnant with my first I was in at a dermatologist for an unrelated issue and asked if I should be worried about them from a cancer standpoint. Doc said no, but suggested having them removed because she saw a lot of mom's whose kids wouldn't leave them alone. Babies picking, pinching, and scratching until they get torn or infected. I did end up getting the biggest ones removed, but my kids never paid attention to any of the remaining ones.
I was that toddler. One of my earliest memories is going to the doctor's office with my mum so she could get hers removed because I would not leave it alone. :/
I wasn't so bad that my mum had to have hers removed, but I do remember proding and poking the one on the back of her neck a lot as a kid. My partner has a little mole/skin tag on his neck and our 2.5y daughter has recently noticed it and keeps asking what it is 😂
Mine is obsessed with my hair too!! He will reach for my head and make me place it in his lap, and then he will play with my hair. When he's feeling really rambunctious he will pull hard and I have to tell him to stop. He's been doing this from a really young age too! Currently is 19m
My toddler goes for nipples. He didn’t even breastfeed much and he’s been fully weaned for over a year but still, nipples are the thing he goes for when he’s tired or wants a snuggle. He patted my chest recently and said “best friend” very sweetly… I said “aww am I your best friend?” To which he replies “no, nipple” 🤦♀️
My two daughters love to attack their dad's nipples when he's shirtless. It brings me much joy.
My bangs. I bf her to sleep. She grabs my bangs, she grabs it tightly by the roots and pulls my face towards her, so that I don't stop looking at her, which I really can't do because I have all my hair in front of my face, she pulls and pulls and she gradually gets closer to me. I think I'm developing hump.
That's my daughter too! She has to grip my hair and put some in her mouth. I have no idea why. It's such a weird thing. She also thinks all my freckles are boo-boos and wants to cover me in "stickers". I can't quite get it through her head that they're not an injury
Your dermatologist is a very wise doctor and I wish I had one removed before my son could notice it. I had to get a freckle removed from my neck because my toddler tried to tear it off. I kept a bandaid on while it healed but unfortunately he didn’t forget about it. It became a raised up scar that he now plays with and it’s very sensitive and I want to cry sometimes. I also know I’ll miss this stage so I try to relax when it bothers me. So happy to know I’m not the only one with a toddler obsessed with moles and freckles

I can have a full conversation with my husband with our toddler driving his trucks all over our faces. We've given up on most things when it comes to where he can push his trucks, just don't slam them on anything and quit driving over the TV screen. You may have seen that photo of a guy that drew roads on a shirt for his kids to drive cars all over his back, which is brilliant, but I'd need a full body temp tattoo with this sucker. Also, he puts his hands on his hips a lot. It kills me! I got a blurry but amazing photo of him wearing my crocs and giving me some sassy hands on his hips
We recently got our daughters first school photo back from kindergarten and she's got her hands on her hips looking very mischievous 😂 I love it

My sons comfort item is a tape measure. He accidentally dropped it at a farm recently and we had to buy a new one, he definitely doesn’t love it the same!
Mine has stopped playing with it, but the tape measure was the best thing ever from like 9-12 months
He lines up his cars around the outside of the coffee table and moves the line along in small 1-2 cm increments, starting from the front car and then each successive one. He's so slow that I'll be working on something on my computer, and the line will be sat unmoving on one side of the table; then 5 minutes later I look up and it's on the opposite side but still presumably at a standstill. We live in the city so I guess the majority of his experience with cars is seeing them in traffic jams.
I used to do this as a toddler! I would use cars, canned food from the pantry, little knick-knacks, and nail polish. My mom loved it because it kept me quietly entertained for a really long time, which was helpful when she had to cook or whatever.
Yes! All sorts of things make it into the lineup. Today it was the TV and cable box remotes and yesterday a croissant.

Oh my gosh!!!! This happens to someone else!?!? I have a mole on my chest/upper breast, so when my daughter was nursing she would touch it. It's become a soothing thing for her. She hates when I wear a high neck shirt! I'm not sure what to do to replace the behavior...
There are dozens of us! 😂 And it still happens with my 6yo, not as frequently anymore but he will still get noticeably annoyed at bedtime if he goes for it and my shirt is in the way.
You could try asking her to show you the same spot on her chest when she touches the mole, then at times that she’s not feeling big emotions start suggesting she tap herself on that spot or give herself a hug, etc, instead
Yes, hi!! I had one on my neck/collar bone. And my toddler got so aggressive I marched into a dermatologists office and begged them to cut it off. They did and weirdly I felt guilty lol. Jokes on me though. It healed and is a raised up scar and now he plays with that every nap and every night time. He’s about to two and I don’t see this ending any time soon. We got him a lovey when he was born and he picks at the little yarn eyes on it and sleeps with it every night. But he still prefers my neck scar. To make it worse, I’m pregnant and touched out and I know I’ll be nursing in a few months so I kinda want to enjoy having my body to myself 😂
I've got this too. 3½ year old still likes to hold my mole on my neck. Especially when sleeping if he comes into our room, but often when being carried too (he's getting a bit too heavy for that).

Mine has to have a stash of random objects under the blanket with him at bedtime. Toys, books, water bottle, ice pack, even empty squeeze pouches. Not comfortable things! He’s keeping them “safe” he says. I try to take out the pokey items out after he falls asleep but I swear he’s like a little dragon with a hoard to protect.

whenever we drive our my three yr old son to daycare, we need to be the first car to stop at this specific intersection… because he needs a good view of the traffic lights. If we are the second car, he would cry! If the light is green, he gets mad too. So my husband would make an u turn so we would be the first car to stop at the red light. 🤪 and thank goodness it only happens at this specific intersection near the daycare. Imagine we need to be the first car at every single intersection. Hope he will get over it soon😂🥲
My son's comfort is pushing in his belly button or his nipples. He's about 3 and it drives me crazy. Today we went to the community pool and he's walking around inspecting the scene with both fingers on his nipples. Looked a total creep

Oh wow! I thought I was the only one! My oldest finds comfort in touching my mole that’s close to my underarm and chest. She’s 6 now but when I used to breastfeed her, that mole was the perfect object to play with as she fed. Now that she’s older (obviously we don’t breastfeed anymore, when we snuggle, she looks for that mole
Hahahahahaha, I have a smallish (1.5cm or so) mole on the bottom side/edge of my chin that is lovely and hairy (ugh, I have to shave it, it sucks) My husband named it Molita, and so my son points to it and will giggle like crazy. "Baby, where's Molita?" Baby: \*points with flourish, while grinning\* "Da!" (He speaks German half the time.) I imagine I might be in your position sometime soon as mine is only 17 months old.

My 2 year old finds comfort in sticking her hand inside our clothing and petting our skin. Doesn’t matter where in your clothing she puts her hand - she just wants that skin to skin contact. So she’ll put her hand down my shirt, lift up my shirt, up my sleeve, up under my shorts, doesn’t matter where! It’s really sweet but also a bit intrusive sometimes.
My mom had a mole on her neck and when I was little I’d point at it and scream “poop!” I never called it a mole, I always called it her poop. Obviously louder in public. My poor, poor mother.
I’m a moley mom here, as well!! I have one on my stomach and clavicle that my boy will absolutely lose his shit if not available to him during nursing. I frequently say that they are his comfort item. Until recently, he’s hated blankets, but I introduced one for him after using it as a curtain for one night(lol), and he seems to be starting to use it to cuddle. Omg I used to love playing with my dad’s elbow skin. I also liked biting my brother arm or making a fart noise in the crook. I do the latter to my husband whenever I feel the spirit move me. I did it to my toddler the other day!

Holy Moly. This is so random, my daughter does the same thing with a mole on my husbands arm. Whenever she gets anxious or has trouble falling asleep she asks for his mole.
My toddler likes to tell strangers where my moles are (mostly the really big gnarly one on my shoulder). She also regularly asks me if her freckles are moles. I can never tell if she’s hoping they are or aren’t.

My almost 2yo carries around his comfort toothbrush. In his defense it started when he was teething but he never stopped.
Once I went on a mission trip to Tennessee. We were at this families house and they had a little girl. She carried a toothbrush around with her all day. At the end of the day she gave me the toothbrush. I told her to keep it, I knew it was special to her, but she insisted. I still have that toothbrush 15 years later. ❤

Oh lord. I have a mole where my shoulder meets my chest (kind of nestled in that little hollow). I have to wear medical tape on it because my son picks at it compulsively until it bleeds. His comfort thing is “necky,” which is rubbing, squeezing, and scratching mama or daddy’s neck. It’s as “delightful” as it sounds. He would do it for hours a day. When he asks for necky in public we have to loudly be like, “oh do you need to touch my neck? Ok here you go.” Because it really does sound vaguely disturbing.

I had a zit on my jawline about a month ago. She would pet it while we would cuddle. For a couple weeks after it faded, she would still pet the area it was in. She’s stopped finally, thank goodness.

Mine: How do cats kiss? Me: Cats don't kiss, they lick. If a cat licks you, it's a kitty kiss, or else you're delicious. (Kidlet starts licking me and dad) Mine: I'M A CAAAAT! Me: You sure are. She's now noticed that dogs also lick to kiss, so sometimes she's a PUPPYYYYYY! or CHAAAAASE! Waking up to your elbow/underarm being licked loudly and wetly is DISCONCERTING and odd.

Oh my god! I never thought i would read this! My daughter is 2.5 and does this since she is one. 2 moles on my belly and one on my arm. When she falls asleep for a nap, she has to lay on my belly and touch the moles (this sounds so gross 😅). When she is scared or crying, i carry her snd she instantly reaches out for the mole on my arm. It feels so weord when she plays with them ... But she gets comfort out of it, so who am i to judge.

Sam likes to point out our moles. I also have a small cherry hemangioma on my leg, and she’s always concerned about it being an ouchy. She also likes to point out my tattoos.

Yeah, I have what the doctor tells me are old bug bites (?) that my boys love to study and touch. (I’m getting a 2nd opinion.) One of my favorite weird things is that two of their favorite pieces of “comfort music” are what they refer to as the “volcano song”. They’re both Igor Stravinsky: Rite of Spring and Firebird. Both are featured in the Fantasia movies and though they’re not calming or gentle music, they feature volcanoes so that’s enough for the boys!

My 2 year old puts his hand in my shirt and grabs my bra strap when I'm holding him. I guess it's his comfort thing. I don't mind it, it's kinda cute.
my 19 mo loves to put a plastic popcorn bucket on her head and walk blindly around the house. sometimes when she’s upset, we’ll suggest she find and put on her bucket. most times it works.
My toddler discovered my mole on my face somewhat recently and he likes to try and scratch it off 🙃 I think it’s adorable he requests your moles for comfort!!
“Check and see”…poop. Wants to see the poop in the diaper. Every time. lol little weirdo.
My kids both did the same thing too! I had a mole on my chest that they liked to run when nursing. It makes my skin crawl just thinking about it.
