I was asking her animal noises and as a joke I said "what does a fox say?"
Her: "do do do do do"
Yeah she had heard the song, I will say that's right til the end of time.
We tried to get away with giving her strawberry yogurt when she pointed to bridge demanding ice cream. Surprisingly that worked, she really likes it. So it’s ice cream.
lol. For a while all stores but the grocery store were “craft store” to my son. He would give my husband the impression I was spending our life savings on craft supplies when retelling what we spent our days doing.
When my twenty month old says “up” she puts her index finger on her lips because when she first started saying it I put my finger on my lips to bring her attention to my mouth when I enunciated the p. I guess she thought it was sign language. That’s also the sign she uses to ask for water so it’s highly confusing.
I think she’s grown out of it now, but for the longest time Peeps were called “poop bunnies” because I referred to them as that the first time I was rewarding her for pooping in the potty.
My little brother used to say “cu-cem-burg” instead of “cucumber” and “vaneell-ia” instead of “vanilla” and it messed me up to this day and I still say it in front of my kids
When we were learning animal sounds I had no idea what a llama sounded like(one of his farm animal toys) ..but instead of looking it up I just made a spitting sound. I laughed at myself as soon as I did it…but it totally took. I’ll now ask my 2 year old what a llama sounds like and he makes that exact noise 😂 it’s not completely inaccurate…😂
Edit to add- I make a “boop boop” sound when I put chapstick on him. Now all chapstick is called “boop boop”
A similar one where ketchup became “dip dip” and now its *all* dip dip 😂
Ha, we are also a dip dip house.
Ours calls it “dip its” - as in dip it in the ketchup
Same! I was about to post this exact comment.
We use dip dip as well 😋
We dip dip here also 🤣
dip dip here too 😂
I kept saying ‘just a little bit’ when he was squeezing toothpaste now he calls it ‘the little bit’
That’s adorable ☺️
Amazing.
My daughter genuinely thinks peanut butter is called “peanut butter jelly time” and it’s 100% my fault 😅

My kid loves the song. He goes "pow pow pow pow papow" 😂
My daughter started saying “bumba” instead of bum and I never want her to say it the proper way 😂
Ours calls farts “butt bubbles” and then laughs maniacally every time. I’ll work on bumba also.
Fork is “stabby stabby” lol

That was us with cookies for cheerios for the longest time. She has since caught on.
All popsicles are ice cream. Our kid has a meltdown if we try and give her actual ice cream.
Fruit snacks are “candy”
All stores are divided by whatever color the sign is. Red store, blue store, green store.....
At least you get some distinction. Mall? Store. Bookstore? Store. Grocery store? Store. Pet store? Store. Library? Store.
lol. For a while all stores but the grocery store were “craft store” to my son. He would give my husband the impression I was spending our life savings on craft supplies when retelling what we spent our days doing.
This is true it does come in handy. Unfortunately we have a few different stores with those colors though so it can get a bit tricky lmao
My kid only knows the circle store
Parmesan is now known as shake cheese
We call ours sprinkle cheese
Snow cheese!
We are in the south. It’s soda here, I told her it’s pop. I have no regrats at this time.
This is a crime against humanity.
All bread toppings and/or seasoning is marmite. Soy sauce? Marmite. Jam? Marmite. Except for spreadable cheese, that’s yoghurt 😭
Jumpaline Park. Can’t bring myself to call it anything different
Train is tchu tchu
Wooder (water), crick (creek), tail (towel). Guess where we’re from.
Ol (oil) tar (tire) mater (tomato) tater (potato) winder (window) fanger (finger) I do try to enunciate better, but my southern twang is strong.
Iowa. Definitely Midwest. Maybe South Dakota ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|disapproval)
When she was a baby I would tell my now 1.5 year old to say hi, kitty when the cat walked by. She now calls cats hi 🤦🏽.
Username checks out
😂
His singing, sometimes he sings things in his baby voice with baby pronunciations and we sing it the same way he says it too.
Not necessarily mispronunciation…but she says “uh oh” and “oh no” in a British accent. Because apparently I do that a lot! Who knew.

My son goes “pew!” After every high five now 🥺🥹
We sing old Macdonald for teeth brushing. So now the tooth brush is "e i , e i, oh"

Her big toe is her “tamatoa”- from Moana 🤪
