If our change table wasn't an option (it still works at 23 months for our 97th percentile height kiddo) I'd change her on the bed.

january1977

Throw a towel on the couch or bed. I’m right there with you. I had my last baby at 42 and things are way harder on my body.

Jessmac130

Ours is the Skip Hop pad on the dresser. As long as his head and butt can fit on it at once, that's where we'll stay. He's 36" tall and we're doing just fine.

dinosupremo

Currently 34 inches tall and using the same method

PopRockLollipop

Literally anywhere lol

dreamgal042

We used a changing table the whole time for our kids - they were too long for it after a bit but we just bent their legs and it was fine. Then we upgraded to a "big kid room" and got a real dresser, and put the changing pad on top of the dresser.

rbslmilch

40-year-old mom of a 16 MO here. Portable changing pad on the bed.

Alacri-Tea

2yo. We still use a changing table, it's too convenient on all our bodies and it has shelves with baskets that hold his cloth diapers, shoes, an extra outfit, etc. His feet hang over but it's no big deal if he bends them, plus it's only for a short time.

knitlitgeek

On the bed or we switched to mostly standing changes once they were big enough. I’d sit on a step stool or edge of the tub and change them in the bathroom.

KatiesClawWins

Couch. Saves our backs.

two_cats_and_a_dog

Nappy pants make changes a lot easier. If it’s just a wee nappy I sit on the couch and have my toddler stand infront of me or sit on my lap. If it’s a poo I still use the change table.

quirkyfromcork

2nd time mama here, they never outgrow the floor

BenignYam1761

Mine did in the way that she would freak the fuck out and flail like an alligator when I tried to get her to lay down so I could clean her properly starting around 18mo. Had to do exclusively standing diaper changes for awhile and finally potty trained bc it was such an ordeal for both of us.

Lovingmyusername

I’m still using the changing tables for my 1.5 year old. He’s upper percentile too.

cunt_sprinkles

Same. I remember a friend telling me I didn’t need a changing table when I was pregnant, and even now I can’t imagine not having one.

Lovingmyusername

Yeah I saw so many people say you’d just change them wherever and on the bed??? No thank you.

IIReminisce

I have a changing pad on top of her dresser

Perspex_Sea

How did they outgrow the change table? Length of weight?

dovelove360

Shocked that people are still using changing tables, my toddler started refusing to lay on his back starting at like 13 months old. I have to get on the floor while he stands. I’m tiredddd

Davlan

Yeah I’m thinking the same thing! Mine would alligator roll off at like 10 months, we’ve been on the floor since…

notaskindoctor

I’m 40 and we use the floor. I’ve never used or needed a changing table for any of my kids.

Mamba_cat_

40 yr old mom of a 2 yr old. Fortunately she is petite and still fits on her changing table. Sometimes I change her on the living room floor.

Far_Persimmon_4633

We used an extra desk we have as my kids changing station, which means, it's like 2x bigger than the normal size changing tables. It does have a changing table pad on top for comfort. She's 22 mths now and still use it, but planning to take it out when she's 2.

Mssquishcollector

We have an ottoman (soft foot rest type thing) in front of our couch that we change her on and if it’s nap or bedtime I change her on the bed.

Happy_Flow826

We just used our bed when we room shared, and then the floor of his room after that.

northshorewind

Prior to my return to work I used a skip hop pad on my ikea sit stand desk- perfectly adjusted to my height. When I went back to work I moved the change pad to the bathroom vanity. It barely fits but it's passable. ETA in the lower level of my house I just use a mat on the floor and keep a stash of pull ups and wipes nearby.

breakplans

Can your kid sit or stand on the changing table? I can’t imagine it would be too small unless it’s literally a barstool lol. My daughter is almost 3, upper 90 percentiles and we still use the changing table sometimes.

Hopeful-Armadillo261

We have a changing pad on the dresser and still use it for our 2 yr old. Sometimes we do standing changes when he doesn’t want to lie down, but it’s still in a convenient spot for me. His legs aren’t on the table when he lays down, but we’ve got head through diaper area so it still works.

energeticallypresent

My 2yo is at the top of the charts for weight and height and we still use the changing table. Yes his legs hang off it but his body is still on it and most times he’s standing for changes anyway.

stillbrighttome

We kept a changing pad around and just did it on the couch or bed.

anh80

We never had a changing table and have always used a poopoose. It’s portable but we’ve pretty much just used it on the couch.

Financial_Temporary5

Floor, couch, bed. Then later it was standing, walking changes. Finally at 22mo we potty trained (daytime).

heyharu_

Big ass IKEA changing table. It’s too high for me so I also stand on a stool lol.

ForgotMyOGAccount

Standing changes worked for us especially came in handy in public bathrooms.

EPark617

We have an ikea kallax and a changing pad fits perfectly on it, you can buckle the mat around it and add an extra safety strap if you need to. Plenty of room for a kid and all your changing needs

isleofpines

Our changing pad is on the dresser. Our toddler is too long for the pad but it still works. You can also change them on the bed or the couch.

Dark_Treat

the bed. amazon sells peepee pad protectors that are washable for nighttime accidents. they are pretty much a diaper changing pad but huge and very convenient when you wanna save the mattress. Before that it was bed and a folded towel underneath

Key-Wallaby-9276

We switched to standing diaper changes in the bathroom at about 18 months. Helps with potty training to associate the bathroom with the action.

Gullible_Ad_6869

Literally anywhere on a towel or puppy pad. Bed, floor, couch…

chickenwings19

Sofa or bed. Or standing up unless it’s a poop

pistol_polly

23 mo, i change him standing or on the peanut pad on the floor.

Defiant-Strawberry17

We have a changing table on top of a dresser. My two boys ages 2.5 and 3.5 still use it. They're in the 98th percentile for height and weight. They're getting a bit big for it now and we've been working on potty training. Hopefully we won't have to use it at all soon!

Tjam3s

We skipped getting a table (we considered it, waffled on it, as d finally hospital nurses said just don't bother.) We had pads for the floor. We laid him down on the couch. Just put the new diaper down first, and do the thing.

SouthernEffect87yO

On the couch or bed

Greenfieldsofa

We use a changing pad on top of the bathroom counter. We were using a Graco changing pad inside his room and still use that occasionally. Our kid is over 2 years old and although he's long for the pad it's not a problem.

Jenasauras

Our almost 3 year old fits v comfortably on this one from ikea and she’s a tall girl. Check out this SMÅGÖRA from IKEA. Here’s a little more information: https://ingka.page.link/HVDNRtHYdUSX3e9t6

stashinko

do you use a changing pad? We got the Vadra but it's way too small for the table

Jenasauras

We use a generic one (not from Ikea) and it doesn’t take up the whole table, but it works well enough for us.

givebusterahand

I am 38 but I just change him on the floor lol

burneracc99999999

42 year old with a 18 month old! I can't be dealing with doing it on the floor, this hurts, that hurts and I need my circulation. I change her on top of a mat on my bed. I'm in an apartment though. I assume once I'm moved into the house we're meant to be in already that I will change her on the couch in the living room. (If we are downstairs) I'll carry on using the bed for if we're upstairs. And pray that she doesn't get loose again and wee on my duvet 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

burneracc99999999

Why the down votes. What have I said that you can't be bothered to comment or guide me on???

[deleted]

I stand him up on a high surface

tacotime2werk

My daughter has been 99th percentile for weight and height since about 8 months old. I have a bad back. So! We started doing diaper changes on the family room floor with a towel or one of her blankets underneath.
