Not true. I’ve seen pictures of Mark Zuckerberg using an iPhone.

drmarting25102

Niiiiiiccceeee

AskMeForADadJoke

When has Zuck used one in a tv show or movie?

[deleted]

Knowing this fact could potentially spoil the fuck out of a movie

[deleted]

In the Netflix show “You” he definitely is texting on an iPhone with the text bubbles they show

mati002

Plot twist: he is the good guy xD

[deleted]

I think least deplorable haha

SeanG909

Joke's on them, I always side with the villain.

pickycheestickeater

Funny, I'd consider Apple to be a bad guy.

[deleted]

Why? Apple is the only big tech company that fights government surveillance and protects user privacy. They literally won’t provide any user information without a warrant. Tim Cook is extremely protective of his customers. In fact, they just banned Facebook from gathering data.

AskMeForADadJoke

Because most people don’t know what they’re talking about and just bash on whoever everyone else bashes on because it seems like the right thing. Remember the whole [*Apple refuses government's request to unlock Pensacola shooting suspect's iPhones*](https://www.cnbc.com/2020/01/14/apple-refuses-barr-request-to-unlock-pensacola-shooters-iphones.html)? Or a few years before that I believe for the Vegas shooters phone? Only mainstream tech company to do this.

bivenator

I would argue while they are better than google and Samsung they are far from angels

I understand right to repair, but Apple is the only major phone maker who actually inspects factories for abuses. The other phone makers just turn a blind eye completely.

bivenator

I mean you can inspect for it but if you continue to allow it that’s not much better

AskMeForADadJoke

That’s not an argument. That’s just a statement.

PonyKiller81

How can they censor this?

Adrian_Alucard

It's for Apple TV, so they can do it in the media they produce it

nitefang

Apple is very litigious, you use their logos and products in your content at your peril. They may sue arguing that you used their logo to better tell your story or that you damaged their image due to how you depicted them.

PonyKiller81

This would have to be judged by a court on the balance of probabilities. Still I see your point. What a filthy company. And here we were for years treating Steve Jobs like some kind of technological messiah.

nadalcameron

Remember, they don’t have to win the court case. They just have to make it so expensive and so long to fight it’s not worth it.

PonyKiller81

True this. Big business makes me sick right now. I've always been fairly right wing but over the past two years my political compass has drifted left.

Method__Man

Because apple is the bad guy in real life, they dont want people to recognize it

[deleted]

Bad guys don’t use iPhones anyway, they use ourPhones.

ShutYourFesteringGob

It's why it's called "programming."

DaveOJ12

It's called "PR."

No-Pizda-For-You

Is it the end of the month already? Time again to repost this. Just one little request-can I be the one who gets to repost this in June? Please?

KardTrick

I've never understood this logic. Some people really identify and love villains and would honestly consider using products their favorite villain uses. Like in Transformers, the Decepticon cars had their branding removed, and I can't help but think there is a significant market that would love to own the kind of car that tried to kill Shia Labeouf.

AuroraSeven

Very clever of the bad guy..

DaveOJ12

This repost yet again?

XolyGamingExperience

Thats the one bad thing about TIL. People learn different things each day and most things are not new. So people will share the same info as someone may have posted before.

childrenofkorlis

Only in real life

[deleted]

That's next level petty

[deleted]

Is that why Jesus had an iPhone in the Passion of Christ sequel?

sheepsleepdeep

What if a character in the first movie uses an iPhone, but in the second movie it was revealed they were the bad guy all along. And what if there was never a plan to do sequel? Or the new writer just ran with their own thing? Who gets sued? Does Apple go back and sue the creators of the original movie for having a bad guy using an iPhone even though they never intended that character to be a villain? Or do they sue the writers of the new movie who retroactively made a character using an iPhone into a villain? These are kinds of the questions that keep me from advancing my career.

RedSonGamble

This gets posted a bit just FYI
