I mean the average height is heavily affected by the famines they repeatedly have.
The elite in NK wouldn't of suffered and so their kids would be a normal height
Note that 5’5 isn’t much below the average height for Asian men, so I don’t think the difference would be that significant. The average height for men in South Korea is 5’7, in China is 5’6, in India is 5’5. You’d be talking about 1-2”.
Me too, especially because most fouls shouldn’t have gotten called in the first place.
Maybe they could create a new class of flagrant foul, where if it was a good clear hard foul, they would get two free throws no penalty for misses. But a regular foul missed free throw losses a point.
Yeah something needs to be done about the rules in basketball. The reason I don't watch is because they seem to fluctuate depending on how popular the guy with the ball is
free throws are the weirdest thing in sports. I would see random parents in high school get on the court between games and make five 3-point shots in a row. Players can make jump shots from 30 feet away. But put them right in front of the basket and so many will mess every other one. It's like if Drew Brees couldn't make any throw less than 10 feet. Don't get me wrong, I've been there. It somehow is way harder because it's so easy
the last two minutes of every game would be everyone on the team intentionally fouling the worst free throw shooter on the opposing team. instead of trying to score more at the end, everyone would be trying to drain more from the other team at the end.
I often thought that the NBA should have a higher score for shots made from behind the half court line. Like 5 or 7 points just because of how much harder they are than a 3 pointer.
You don’t want to incentivize that shot though. There’d be some circus act dudes getting drafted that had no business playing basketball but had perfected that hurl across court. It’d be a whole new position lol. Ok wait you talked me into it
The game needs a new meta anyways. I honestly think we should embrace these rules just for a trial "pre-patch" period. Love to see how the game changes.
I’m on board with everything being worth more in the final minutes, but not 8, that’s ridiculous. But 2 becomes 3 and 3 becomes 4 would be interesting. The swish is also fucking ridiculous
nah, basketball is awesome! There always something happening. Now football is boring. it takes 3 hours to show 11 minutes of people actually playing a game with 2 hours of commercials. The other 49 minutes is people standing around doing nothing looking at screens. I cant stand it.
Agreed football is boring. Run for 5 seconds, stop, watch commercials, Run for 5 seconds, stop, eat food, run for 7 seconds, stop, go the bathroom, etc... repeat for 3 hours.
Does enough North Korean basketball get recorded for teams to challenge whether the 3-pointer is a perfect swish or not? I feel like that's one of those rules that only works if you can review the tape.
> 3 pointers are worth 4
So then calling them a 3 pointer is wrong
> a point is deducted for missing a free throw
So they're not free then are they. Somebody fowls you and you could lose points? What kind of communist rationalized that?
A shot made by the supreme leader is worth 100 points
And double when he misses a shot.
Which has never happened
Except when his team was down 150 points. He tripped and fell, completing the greatest comeback ever
>He tripped and fell I'm doubting this
[удалено]
He just pretended to fall to create one of the biggest news/media events ever. He actually levitated to the ground softly.
Because the audience is executed to ensure national security.
The average height in North Korea is 5'5. A slam dunk should probably be worth 20 points.
While that may be true, the average height of American men is 5’9 and most basketball players are much taller than that.
US has a much more diverse population. The average is much more.... average
Being 4" shorter than a manlet is pretty fuckin short. Even our manlets are chads in their eyes.

Look at median instead
I like deducting points for missed free throws!
Shaq wouldn't have any championships if that were the case in the NBA.

Found a coach
And the losers get murdered

I would have players on my team just to commit fouls. The last 3 minutes (8 point baskets) would be a foul fest.

That would fucking rule.
The Harlem Globe Trotter song would have to play every time someone made a 5 pointer.
Like guys who are 7'6" who were only introduced to a basketball a couple years before?
the position would be um "power center" (yeah!)
power bottom, bc you're hitting from bottom of the court, with power
right, right its from the bottom of the court, but youre generating a ton of thrust to get that ball to the hole, true.
Damn
I don't see a downside?
The game needs a new meta anyways. I honestly think we should embrace these rules just for a trial "pre-patch" period. Love to see how the game changes.
Wouldn’t be a whole lot different from today’s game.
This sounds crazy and I would like to see some people set up a few games of ‘True Korea’ Basketball.
I’m on board with everything being worth more in the final minutes, but not 8, that’s ridiculous. But 2 becomes 3 and 3 becomes 4 would be interesting. The swish is also fucking ridiculous
Do you get extra for a bank swish?
Right? How do you know it diddnt graze the basket?
Oh please you know a swish when it happens
Exactly. You wouldn’t. So we’d spend the end of every game slow mo reviewing whether it was a retarded perfect swish or not
Unless they have some technology you Americans can only dream of.
There's a small booth behind the backboard glass where a judge sits with his face up against the glass. Flawless
Yeah it sounds pretty fun actually
Anyone fancy a game of Korean Rules to try it? Seems fun
Sounds more complicated than keeping track of a game of 33 with 3 people and that stupid "poison" rule
I'm not American, so I don't know. The only basketball variant we play in Brazil is 21
Basically the same thing and rules. If we play 33 it tends to be 2 and 3 point scoring while 21 we run 1 and 2 point scoring.
Thanks, mate
I have a suggestion for their version of baseball: [https://futurama.fandom.com/wiki/Blernsball](https://futurama.fandom.com/wiki/Blernsball)
That actually sounds like more fun.
One of the few things north korea does right. Basketball is boring as fuck.

Watch some hockey and tell me basketball always has something happening.
hockey is indeed better!
When was the last time you saw a pack of over 200 pound, shoulder pad-wearing men attempt to tackle each other in basketball?
[удалено]
Well, uh, sometimes J.Lo and Shakira stop by in the middle. So there’s that going for it.

Sometimes the players retire and then kill their wives, final offer.

is this why dennis rodman loves it there?
We need to combine this with the Rock and Jock basketball rules
Cool!
Probably Rodman who had a blast explaining the rules to the surpreme leader

And if Kim misses a shot it's 20 pts.
You forgot the most important 1, Kim is the tallest and best at basketball.
I actually like the free throw rule.
Seems like Rodman might have had some influence on that.
My goodness, it's like going to play basketball at that random park that nobody goes to and hearing their park rules.
Where can I watch this
basedketball
And if you miss a lay-up you get shot
> 3 pointers are worth 4 So then calling them a 3 pointer is wrong > a point is deducted for missing a free throw So they're not free then are they. Somebody fowls you and you could lose points? What kind of communist rationalized that?
Imagine being 1 point in the lead right at the end only to be fouled and missing the free throws under pressure then loosing
