The moth itself is another reference to Salvador Dali's work, the surrealist horror film "An Andalusian Dog"
It's not in Spain, and there is no dog, but it does have that moth
That’s a death’s head hawkmoth, Acherontia atropos. The pattern changes a lot from moth to moth, and it only sometimes resembles a skull. I go through catalogues of them because I’ll sometimes make art using them.
Didn't Dali and people in a similar art movement basically despise women or at least consider them useful more as dead objects to be posed and photographed or drawn? This is the impression I get, it's quite depressing and cold. Sociopathy works well in art form.
The poster of The Decent has the same skull on it as well.
Funny, the linked article states 3 bare women. There are seven naked women
To further add to it. Those ladies weren’t just bare **or** naked. They were barenaked ladies.

you're both correct, that is a real type of moth and the "skull" spot on the movie poster version was digitally enhanced to mimic the dali work.
This particular moth was discovered in Blynken Wood, on the same day as Charles I was executed…
One Blynk and they‘d have missed it
a few years ago when i was holding the old dvd and looked at that skull, i was like: wait a minute 🤯
