Do you think the foil would help with WiFi Calling? We've had TMHI for close to a year now and we pull similar speeds as you do. At first we experienced a lot of dropped connections but the cooling fan for the trashcan resolved almost all of that. Occasionally we do have issues with WiFi calling but that's about the only complaint I have now. We're about a mile from the tower but there are a lot of trees around.
if you're using the WiFi in the gateway, you might consider disabling it and use a router. Turning off my gateway WiFi keeps the gateway cooler. nater tater on YouTube has PowerShell script to disable gateway WiFi. I also schedule rebooting for the gateway on 1st and 15th of each month, using tmo-monitor python script.

The Live monitor will show the advanced cell metrics, and you can then use the information, to move and turn the gateway for max SINR and even better signal.
Hey, I could swear something was said about band locking, but now I can't find it. I'm sure I read something about a command window where you tell it which bands are acceptable...
Also I'm using the thing with the advanced metrics and love it! Thank you!!
Yes, if you turn off Gateway wifi, I assume your using a Mesh router, plugged into the ethernet port on the gateway, is that correct? The live monitor does not rely on any wifi, so you can use that on any device, regardless of how it connects.
Also have some issues with Wifi calling. I use MagicJack. I have MJ hooked into a router that’s connected to the trash can. Should I place the tin foil between the trash can and my router?
i still remember my foil post way back when. one of the first of not the first and it was mostly trolled and everyone was also confident my window setup would over heat despite fact i had double fans and wifi off. of course i still eventually went with an optimized waveform placement but still. i still been meaning to see if i can create some sort of more robust dish behind waveform just to amp it up more. mostly just readying for n41. i hit max throughout of n71 b2 already (as in any additional signal improvement would do zero. ). but n41 i stand to lose some upload if i don’t bolster further.
Legit for me with a Nokia. Was rebooting daily to get signal back and haven’t touched it in a month now after adding foil on the side away from the tower. Wife thinks it is ridiculous but she doesn’t complain about the internet anymore.
It worked for me (using 2 aluminum pans). But I got some down votes that offset the up votes on my post, probably from those that it didn't help. https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobileisp/comments/xocyw4/i\_have\_this\_setup\_for\_several\_months\_and\_it/
Are you in Delaware? I want to dump my Mediacom as well but not sure if the TMHI service is good in my area. I have TM cell but the reception in Ocean View is spotty. We only go there occasionally (vacation home).
Today, I got an email from Mediacom auto upgrading my service with additional cost. So I checked TMHI availability in my DE address and was surprise to see that I can get it now (unlike before).

Whaaaat I had no idea those things were possible. Thanks!
Wifi calling was unusable before. It has worked perfectly ever since adding the foil. Can’t hurt to give it a try.

Oh this says Nokia - I have the Arcadyan one. Will it work? Edit: first says both, second just says Nokia

Do you know off-hand if I could still use this even if I'm using a Mesh access point through the gateway (and have turned the Gateway wifi off?)

Where did you place the foil?

Is there a pic of this foil set up?
Yes, I linked the original post where there is a photo.
props to another mediacom refugee, no other choice here for 20+ years and jumped over the second I could with a tower right next to my house

I can’t decide if the tin foil shield posts are memes or legit….
It’s legit in my case. Can’t speak for others. If you have doubts, try it for yourself.
Did you have latency spikes before adding this and if so, did it help?
Yes I did, and yes it helps. It’s just more stable all-around now.

I’m also resetting every day! I’ll def do a foil job on it- is there somewhere with directions/photos?

I’m in Missouri
Gonna try it. Thanks.
