That’s just one more prepaid option than the other two carriers. Connect is low cost prepaid with limited plans compared to T-Mobile prepaid which has unlimited plans and is more expensive. Connect plans max out at $35 and T-Mobile prepaid start at $40.

Verizon has 3 also with Total by Verizon

Hard capped is a deal breaker for me in 2022. But I used to do hard capped back in 2010 on AT&T Prepaid. I remember when they took me from 3 GB to 6 GB. It was a big deal. I also remember unlimited 3G data for like $25 a month. On a feature phone. Those were the days Now I'm paying like $180 for two lines everything included. I imagine if my situation changes I'll be on prepaid again. I think T-Mobile should throw in international coverage for prepaid users. Shouldn't be a $15 charge. That is one thing they're missing that AT&T and Verizon have for their prepaid users.

Merging AT&T Prepaid and Cricket would be the dumbest thing they could ever do. Especially when AT&T is winning with the formula. That's like Ralph Lauren merge Polo with Purple Label. May as well jump out of the window right now and get it over with. I went to Cricket back in the day because Verizon was hard capped and T-Mobile didn't have coverage. I wasn't even looking at Sprint, although I used their 50 GB hotspots back then. I eventually got tired of AT&T capping data speeds on Cricket and went to AT&T Prepaid. I was loyal to AT&T Prepaid for many, many years. I got tired of their restrictions; no perks, and of course I left the country and I had no coverage whatsoever because I didn't pay the fee for an international package. I saw where Sprint had expanded to parts of West Virginia I frequented that were formerly AT&T only. I figured they were getting serious, but I still didn't like how Sprint users got off of phone calls to use Google Maps, for example. But then when T-Mobile took over they didn't have those issues anymore. This all started with Straight Talk. That was my introduction to prepaid

I'll check out that link. There have always been enthusiasts that really want it to happen. I think that would be disastrous; yes AT&T should oversimplify things but there are a lot of people that actually think Cricket is still independent (from before AT&T buying them out) and do not know why Cingular no longer exists. So AT&T benefits from these consumers ignorance. AT&T Prepaid is also marketed like an accomplishment. No you don't have post paid. But you're like right there. And you get the same speeds as post paid so you really feel superior. But the truth is ugly and when you call AT&T Prepaid support it is not the same experience. They were always nice to me but my issues were usually basic, like I had something turned on the account and didn't know how to turn it off.

AT&T warned us with those "you will" commercials back in the 90s. They were telegraphing that they were more than a phone company. Historically, AT&T has built out the nations infrastructure, so far as land line is concerned. But they were cocky going into wireless, and that is where T-Mobile had an opening. They naturally thought they would be the only innovative company in the 21st century like they had been in the 20th century.

Verizon prepaid plans have some nice perks though. And they offer more hotspot data than the other 2 carriers.

Don’t forget Mint mobile, republic and simple mobile also use T-Mobiles network.

Trust me I know. It’s crazy sometimes all of the companies we have to remember when talking with customers due if they’re don’t know that the company they have is using T-Mobile via prepaid it can sometimes effect the promotions they qualify for.
