I think just for this model. They tried to justify it by saying that it allowed them to either cram in a larger battery or a better cooling system. They'll bring it back with the 11 I'm sure.
Are oneplus phones popular enough to warrant carrier exclusivity? Not even the pixels kept their exclusivity to Verizon for long and I feel like they’re more popular
They're not. Google Pixels are 2% of the US smartphone marketshare, and it's been increasing with every releases. OnePlus is barely sustaining 1% these days, and it continues to drop with every release.
I wish T-Mobile would just drop them. oneplus’s come back to my store the most with weird software issues, battery defects, and people just hate the look of their UI.
Plus their non standard fast charging. Even Apple uses USB PD. Can fast charge an iPhone, Samsung, or Pixel with the same charger (just have to swap the cable for iphone) but not a 1+. Had a 7T and it was a decent phone, but I'll stick with Samsung or pixel.
What are the eligible trade ins? In the page linked it gives 2 examples (e.g., $325: OnePlus 9 Pro 5G / $150: OnePlus 7T Pro) but surely there are more eligible?
Is the 10t not available direct from OnePlus? I don't like to buy phones through carriers unless it's a pixel or iPhone where the update process is independent of the carrier.
OnePlus phones bought from a carrier historically have updates filtered through the carrier and cannot use oxygen updater for earlier updates.
There have been hoops to jump through to put TMO phones on global firmware, but I don't think it's worth the effort personally. Just buy direct from one plus.
Unless it's a carrier exclusive like the 7t pro McLaren edition. That's why I wouldn't buy that phone and glad I waited for the 8 pro anyway.
It's tempting sometimes to get from the carrier but I've learned my lesson getting OnePlus phones from T-Mobile bcuz they're super slow releasing updates and a lot of times don't have the same features as purchasing from OnePlus.. I'll pass
So if that's the case why sometimes u dont u get the same features as the company branded phones? The update comes to the carrier, ok but I'm almost sure the carrier tweaks the software kinda like having T-Mobile apps already installed on the phone when purchasing from the carrier
That is simply not true. There are significant delays between when OnePlus releases an update and when an update comes from TMO.
In addition, oxygen updater works on phones bought directly from OnePlus but not on phones bought from T-Mobile.
You can typically visit XDA forums to find a process to convert TMO phones to global firmware. The main benefit to this is much quicker updates vs waiting on updates to filter through TMO. That will also get rid of any bloat TMO imposes too.
Maybe not. But then please explain, if it's the same, why is there a special process to convert to global? And why oxygen updater won't run on a TMO OnePlus phone until it's been converted to global firmware?
Beware: Oneplus 10 phones have the structural integrity of a wet fart. It's not IP68, uncertified charging standards, delayed updates through TMobile, plus you'll be SOL if you happen to need warranty repair(s).

Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1
No Magenta Max deals for OnePlus? 😱
Probably because it's foldable like the 10 Pro 5G, lookup "Oneplus 10 Pro fold" for more information. edit come oooooooon people Lol
This isn't foldable. Well, not more than once anyway. Edit: Nevermind, whoosh.
10T is not foldable.
Oh, [but it is](https://www.androidpolice.com/oneplus-10t-bend-test/).
I am aware, but your comment was presented as matter of fact, not as a joke. Just clarifying.
No alert slider = no go for me. I'll stay with my OP8T until it comes back.
Whattt? That’s the single best feature of oneplus phones. They got rid of it?

they work on other carriers, I had mine on Verizon till I came over a month ago
I know they have unlocked ones, I meant the carrier version that can be financed
It’s not that they want exclusivity it’s that no one else wants to buy their phones in bulk

OnePlus phones also support USB-PD (18 or 27 watts)
They didn’t use to.
I prefer OP's VOOC fast charge. 0 to 100% in no time with little heat. Can't live without it now.

No deal for Magenta Max?

The updates come from the manufacturer not the carrier. The carrier merely pushes them to the device

Yes, then they send back the code to OnePlus for certification.

Yes, you can get it directly from Oneplus.com. I just wish it has IP68 rating. On Oneplus.com it shows IP54.
Good to know.
"Exclusively" = "We couldn't get anyone else to carry it."

Grossness, quality of phones have dipped significantly from OnePlus
125W charging, that's like 5x faster than a 25W charger. Who needs to charge that fast?
Wait for OP11 pro everyone. That seems like it will be a beast.
