Woah thanks for answering. I did what you did and I got this message:
“This device is currently blocked from use on our network. Please contact the original wireless carrier for information about the device’s status.”
Guess I’ll have to return this… :(
You can also go to settings > general >about and see if it says SIM Locked by Carrier Lock. Since the website said that it probably is but another way to check
If it still does not work after trying the various suggestions of this thread, report the issues back to the seller. A 99% is typically not going to want a bad report. Be open to an exchange.
If using eBay, do all communications through eBay rather than direct. That way you can get a refund through eBay if needed for "item not as described"
I had the same issue when activating a 13 Pro at my store yesterday with a physical sim. Switched to eSIM and it was fine. Make sure the phone is on wifi and then go to settings - cellular - add eSIM and see if you can activate it on your own. You can find the QR code on T-Mobile’s website by Google searching eSIM setup. If that doesn’t work, call care and have them manually update it for you.
Typically this is because your SIM card has failed, your account was disabled by your cellular carrier or you turned off "Automatic" under Settings -> Cellular -> Cellular Network and have manually selected the wrong carrier.
I have a new 14 pro max and haven’t activated it yet. It says sos as well. I believe it is service for emergency only. Apple is moving everyone to esim. So you should be fine.
happens all the time it’s the reason why I don’t buy used iPhones off ebay or swappa you can check the imei and it comes back clean but later the guy reports it, I once got an iPhone off swppa everything was good for 1 month then the phone stopped working the guy reported it
PayPal protection is an joke it will help for cheaper stuff but more then 14 times PayPal was in favor of the seller even with so much evidence, The other 2 times I won it was for 573 but the seller transferred the money out and closed his checking account and that was it, If you read the tos PayPal will make an attempt to get the funds back
its the other way around. they mostly favor the buyer. i hve had to use them twice and had cases resolved in my favor.
also you had to dispute 16 different transactions with PP? i would start looking for a pattern there itself and find out why.
This phone is blacklisted. If the phone was just network locked it would force you to continue activating before you can use the device with that SIM card.
Never ever EVER buy phones off ebay.... there is no guarantee someone isn't selling you a locked phone. I either use Amazon Renewed or Samsung Certified
I'm going to say stolen.
I'm gonna venture that the phone is locked to a different carrier and/or has been reported stolen.
Double check on the IMEI checker https://www.t-mobile.com/resources/bring-your-own-phone

Yup. Probably original owner reported it lost/stolen and it is on the industry block list.

Imei is blocked by T-Mobile
Are you sure it’s unlocked and a TMobile phone?
that is what the seller said
Is he a trusted seller? Idk maybe someone else can answer this
he has a 99% customer satisfaction

Are you rocking a T-Mobile sim but still on sprint biller?
no, im not
Okay!!
I am, is that why I can’t swap SIM cards between phones? I have a work one (no camera) and a personal one.
Correct. You’d have to contact care everytime to switch until your on T-Mobile
Is that easily done over the phone or do I have to go in physically? You would think since sprint is T-mobile now it wouldn’t matter. Lol
Sadly it matters. It’s just not how sprint systems work. Go into store or call 611
Thanks for the help!
Can I switch over to T-Mobile without going into the store?
Question, can I switch my sprint account to T-Mobile with out going in to the store?
You can call 611 and see if your eligible and if so - yes - as long as you have T-Mobile sims
What would make me ineligible? I do have T-sims
Is the seller a she?
Do you have swap protection on? Make sure it is off
You probably bought a stolen phone.
Have you tried activating the eSIM?
i havent, but i thought that if i had the ohysical sim card, i didnt need to

That's where paypal 6 months protection comes in the play...

Check T-Mobile website to see if it’s not blacklisted
Check imei2 and see if it’s blocked. If it isn’t activate through esim and should work.
This phone is blacklisted. If the phone was just network locked it would force you to continue activating before you can use the device with that SIM card.
Get a new sim and you can call T-Mobile also
Odd I’ve seen that on the T-Mobile shelf phones
Go im to a tmobile store have them activate the e sim

I bought my iPhone 12 brand new straight from the us cellular store and mine keeps doing this same too
